Advantages: Good Range of Shades

Disadvantages: Not suitable for Oily Skin

Well not ghosts really, just those of us who are really, really pale. One of the very many great things about this foundation is that it comes in a wide range of shades, one of which is pale enough for me (and, given that I look like a milk bottle sometimes, probably pale enough for everyone else too). This, really, is the only reason I discovered it. After scouring the cheaper counters for foundations that didn't make me look orange or pink, I approached Estee Lauder, and the only foundation light enough for me was Lucidity. Luckily, its colour is not its only virtue....

I have been a Lucidity user for about four years and have a nasty habit of recommending it to my friends, who all agree how fab it is too. Its texture is not at all heavy and the light reflecting particles in it give a wonderful effect (one of my friends commented that I looked as if I had been airbrushed!). It can also be used in varying amounts to give light or medium coverage. The effect is very natural - most people are surprised to find that I wear foundation every day.

I have only a few minor gripes. The first is that it should come in a pump bottle. Its texture does deteriorate and get thicker as time goes on, but then again that happens with all foundations. The second point is that although it is perfect and wondeful for people with normal/combination skin, it is not at all suitable for those of us with oily skin. My skin has got considerably oiler in the last year (perhaps because I moved to London)and I have had to give up my beloved Lucidity because it was giving me spots. I have to say, however, that the search for a replacement has not been easy and I am not convinced that my current replacement (Nars) is as good, despite costing a heck of a lot more.

To sum up, I would say treat yourself and head down for a chat with the ladies at the Estee Lauder counter (always very helpful and not pushy). The price (£20) is a little steep, but in my view the produc
t is worth every penny. Be careful though, after using it you might not want to leave the house without it!

Excellent OP - especially for those of us who are fair and freckled. (Why, O Lord, both?)

This sounds really good, but my skin is a bit dry so I don't know if it'd be any good. I am pretty pale though.

Good op. I was thinking exactly the same as Ophelia ~ bit too pricey for me (maybe if I win the lottery.... dream, dream....)
Thanks
Lexa :)
