Advantages: Great colour, moisturing, long lasting
Disadvantages: A little pricey
I've never really been a big fan of lipsticks, I'm much more of a lipgloss or Vaseline girl, however I recently purchased a Ruby & Millie lipstick and was really really impressed, so I've been giving a few other lipsticks a try.
This Estee Lauder lipstick was actually free in one of their buy two products and get a free gift offer.
**Estee Lauder **
Estee Lauder was founded in 1946, with the belief that every woman can be beautiful. They aim to advertise their products to show women who are beautiful, but that their beauty is achievable by anybody using the right products. They are keen supporters of the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign and have a range of products where a donation from the sale is made to Breast Cancer Awareness. Estee Lauder are also aware of the environmental impact of their business and have taken steps to make sure that there products and factories are as envirnmentally friendly as possible.
**The Product**
Estee Lauder Pure Colour Lipstick costs £16 to purchase from their website and is availible in a range of colours. The lipstick should provide a supershine finish, sheer coverage and crystal effects of the lipstick should create brilliance and dimension.
**My Opinion**
I was impressed by the size of the product I was given in my free gift, it was almost full sized. The colour I chose was 'pinkberry' which was a light pinky brown colour, I've noticed this doesn't seem to be one of the colours availible of the website which is a shame as it's a lovely colour.
The lipstick applies very easily and is absorbed well, it doesn't just sit on your lips waiting for the first coffee of the day to wipe it off. It has a lovely shimmery effect that you don't expect by looking at the lipstick itself. It has quite a thick texture, but it does look really natural on your lips, the colour was quite sheer as promised and seemed quite a natural colour on my lips as well.
The lipstick lasts well, it's still on my lips at lunch time, even if I've been drinking coffe likes it's going out of fashion. It's also very moisturising, which is great for me as I have very dry lips, it doesn't highlight any dry spots on your lips but glosses over them, I was really impressed by this as many lipsticks only work if your lips are perfect otherwise they just highlight the dry spots and you look quite silly with it caked on your lips.
The lipstick container itself is fairly heavy duty and doesn't look any worse for wear from being battered in my handbag all day every day. It's not the most exciting packaging I've ever seen, but it is quite classy - dark blue with the bit that you twist to bring the lipstick up (sorry I don't know if it has a proper name!) is gold.
**Summary**
All in all I'm really impressed by this lipstick, the colour is absolutely perfect for me and if I wear it for a few days straight then I can really tell the difference, my lips felt really smooth and moisturised. It's long lasting too which is really important, there's nothing worse than taking a mouthful of coffee and realising that yep, your cup is now wearing your lipstick.
It is quite pricey, but the Estee Lauder website always have some great offers or free gifts to go with your purchase, it's also worth keeping an eye out for free delivery codes- sign up to their website to keep yourself informed.
Summary: Highly recommended
