      Very helpful

Available as a PCMCIA type II, USB, 1394 Firewire or parallel. I purchased the parallel and thus cannot comment on the capability of the other forms of connection. Structure Connects well to the back of my laptop with an expander parallel plug so i can plug my printer in the back of it with ease. The plug does not seem to wear out the parallel port and as i have a laptop I take it out and plug it in incessantly so this is a good sign. The power supply cable is plenty long enough to accomodate the drive on a high desk. The drive itself is well structured to withstand reasonable forces upon it. I carry mine in a rucksack quite a lot and constant shaking and bumping has not harmed it at all. Software Adaptec 4.0 Easy writer is included. This is the industry standard for Cd copying for the layman. It is very adept and works on drag and drop principles much like using a normal 3.5` diskette. Cds and disks with all drivers are also included along with multiple language manuals that are clear and easy to understand. Running the drive Parallel cable prevents 4x writing and it makes the drive pretty slow for reading as well compared with my internal CD drive on my computer. I am assured by friends that the drive successfully operates at the top speeds when attatched by other methods or to an advanced Parallel socket. The packaging does state that this may be the case so the company is not at fault. Despite this I have had no problems running the drive. The vast majority of the time my CDs burn successfully and the times they fail is most likely due to the cheap media I insist on using. All in all I recommend this product
