I have limited storage on my computer which means an external hard drive has been the best device for me in terms of storing files and programmes which can slow down a computer.
When I had my first external hard drive I was always told to buy an Iomega one as they are some of the best you can get so I managed to buy this prestige one and with 500 GB memory inside you can be sure most files will fit perfectly.
In terms of the appearance of the item there is a dull black colour but this does very little to put of a potential buyer and there is a blue light which comes on when the item is in use and it flickers when you are sending files directly to the device.
Installing the item is very basic and you have little to do. You are provided with a USB cable anyways so you just plug this into your computer and the computer tends to recognise the device immediately. Once this has been done you can explore your external hard drive for files or send files directly to the device.
The device itself will always flicker the blue light when an item is being sent or you're exploring the device which is extremely useful to know. You have little else to look at in terms of appearance besides the power button situated at the front of the device itself.
The item can be bulky and it is around 4 inches across but in terms of depth there is at least 2 inches there but it is quite a heavy item. I have had my fair sure of issues as well because sometimes my computer will not recognise the item when it is plugged in. Not only that but if you have problems with the light flickering on and off it can actually over heat the device so this is a problem you might find with this item.
I did purchase this product over a year ago and although the various problems have existed they were easily solved. You do get a good amount of memory and it is easy to install and take and place items onto. You have plenty of space to store the device although it can be heavy might put some people off.
It is made by a very good reliable brand in Iomega which adds some confidence to your purchasing decision. I paid just over £44 and I would imagine this model might be hard to find nowadays but if you do find the item cheap enough it is a worthy investment.
