      Very helpful

Excellent drive, USB 3.0 would be a huge step forward.

I manage everything that is IT at a business local to myself. One thing that I have always stressed is how a robust backup solution is worth its weight in gold. Imagine coming into work one day and your entire network is down, all documents have been lost, where do you look if you don't have a backup?

Having a backup takes this worry away, you can be up and running from any disaster in minutes. Just recently a member of staff deleted 4 months worth of data. Last nights backup was collected and a restore was carried out. The member of staff had their work back in 15 minutes.

Due to the need of a robust backup solution, when we installed a new server, I took it upon myself to improve the backup solution by purchased 10 external hard drives, this was the hard drive that I purchased. We have a drive for each working day of the week, and at the end of each day, it gets taken off site and brought back the following week. Each disk is used once every 2 weeks.

We got a great deal for buying on the back of another companies order through our IT supplier and managed to get each drive for £125 rather than the £150 we were quoted. I have found them for £144 on Amazon (correct as of July 2013).

With just over £1,000 spent on backup drives it was time to implement them.

We backup (incrementally) over 500GB of data. The backup takes around 5 hours each night, 4 hours quicker than our previous backup solution, something we are very happy with.

The drive works extremely well and we haven't had an issue with any of the 10 that we are using. They are also very well protected. A member of staff dropped one onto a concrete floor and it bounced a few times. The drive has a few scuffs but still works as it did before it went sky diving!

I have listed some of the features I like below:

      - Power : The hard drive is powered from the USB cable so there is no need to worry about a power socket.
      - Volume : The drive is silent so would be perfect to take into a meeting room or have plugged into a PC constantly.
      - Case : The case feels strong and as above, it is strong! A drop from 5 feet onto concrete didn't stop this drive.

I am extremely pleased with the hard drives, they are quick, strong and a great price for the storage size. I would recommend anybody looking to purchase an external hard drive to seriously consider this model.
