“ Brand: Boots / Type: Tanning / Subcategory: Anti-Ageing / Suitable for: Eye / What it does: Rejuvenates, „
I have been using this product for the last few years now and always stock up when it is on a deal to make sure that I do not run out. I was therefore thrilled today to find that it was on sale for buy one get one free in Boots and that I could also use a £5 off no 7 voucher I had to partly pay for it. It normally costs £7.50 for the 3g tube and I ended up managing to buy two for £2.50 - a bargain!!
The lip and eye screen has a SPF 30 and can be used to protect the eyes and lips from sun damage and provide a nice glowing shimmer on your eyes and lips. It is also meant to limit the signs of aging, as the skin on your eyes and lips is really delicate.
I always use this lip and eye screen while I am on holiday and to be honest I wouldn't be without it. I mainly use it on my lips as they are quite sensitive and I have noticed that as I get older that they have more of a tendency to burn easily when in strong sun so I need to know that they are properly protected.
The packaging of the product is quite simple and it comes in a small white and gold cardboard box. I was interested to see that the packaging of the product has changed this year compared to the gold tube that is pictured from previous years. It is now in a yellow tube, which is a bit bigger than a normal lipstick tube and has a silver inner tube when the lid is taken off. The bottom section of the tube is twisted to raise the lip screen so it can be applied just like a lipstick. When opened the lip screen inside is a nice light neutral golden colour and the top of the product also has a gentle angle so it is easy to apply it to your lips.
To use the product I normally apply it direct to my lips several times a day. I haven't really used it on my eyes and don't quite know how it work on the eyes as I don't really like the idea of using it on them.
On applying the screen to my lips it is immediately soft and creamy and my lips feel really moisturized but it does not feel heavy at all. The shimmer it gives is quite subtle so it does not look over the top but just looks like a natural and healthy sheen on my lips for a sun kissed look.
Like I said before I would not be without this product and really recommend it. I will be using it all weekend while sunbathing in my garden and will know that I won't need to worry that my lips will be burnt but will look good at the same time. If you are able to get it on the same offer as I did then grab it as quick as you can!

This is the last of the products I bought in Boots on a 3-for-2 promotion after receiving a personal recommendation from fellow reviewer "Graygirl" (thanks again Julia!). It is a product designed to protect your eyes AND lips, all in one handy lipstick-sized stick. Perfect for holidaying abroad.
==Price and Product Details==
This product is available from Boots, costing £7 for a 3g tube. It is SPF 30, and serves two purposes:
* Protecting the eyes and lips from sun damage, limiting the signs of ageing in these delicate areas
* Providing a bit of shimmer to your lips and eyes which is ideal rather than wearing full on make-up in hot climates
The product comes in a tube which is similar to that of a lipstick, only I would say it's slightly bigger in size. It's not massive, but just a bit fatter and longer. The tube is gold in colour, and when you take the lid off you can see the product itself is almost golden in colour. It looks quite dark and gives the impression it will look brown once applied, but as it turns out it's much more discreet than that.
This sun protector is designed to be used on both the eyelids and lips. I used it on both for experimental purposes, but for the majority of the time I used this for lips only. The stick is angled, which makes it easy for sweeping across the eyelids, as well as the lip area. It is quite creamy in consistency, but feels light once applied. I personally wasn't a big fan of the feeling of this on my eyelids, but I think this is probably only because I'm not used to wearing such products on my eyes as I always use eyeshadow.
==Does it work?==
I absolutely love this product. Although I don't get full use out of it by just using it on my lips, I still feel this is worth the money for that alone. Obviously, if you were to use it on your eyes you'd get an extra benefit from the product.
When wearing this lip sheen, my lips feel really moisturised, and it gives the most gorgeously subtle sheen to my lips. I was a little concerned about the shimmer aspect of the product, but I trusted Julia's recommendation and am very glad I did. It seems to just catch the sun and makes your lips look healthy with a very small hint of colour. With the added bonus of protecting your lips from sun damage, what else could you ask for?
As for the eyes, I didn't really feel like I needed this product. I don't wear eye make-up on holiday, and without wanting to repeat myself, I didn't like the feel of it on my eyelids. I still feel this is a good quality product, and I have been using it occasionally since returning from holiday. If I'm going out and don't want to go to the effort of applying a full face of make-up, this is ideal for a splash of life on your lips which somehow just brightens up your face. Although it is designed to protect your lips from the sun, I would happily wear this all year round as it's a great product.
The final thing I'd like to say about this, is that it doesn't really have any smell or taste to it. I'm not a fan of being able to taste lip balms or lipsticks when wearing them, but this is very neutral, and apart from gorgeous shimmering and well mositurised lips, you'd hardly even know it was there.

I picked this up recently using my £5 No 7 voucher, and I see that many other dooyooers have taken full advantage of these vouchers! The full price is £6.75 so I was pleased to snap this up for under £2.
The tube comes in a small, gold-coloured box, and it tells me that the product is water resistant and has an SPF of 30. So it's just ideal for those sunny summer holidays! The tube itself looks like a normal lipstick, and it comes in a nice pale gold colour just like the box, and it's cool and minimalist. It's a nice, sleek looking product and is easy to slip into any handbag or make-up bag, and perfect to take out and about.
When you open the tube, the lipstick is a goldy-beige colour with a lovely shimmery look. The texture is very smooth and creamy and is nice to apply. It definitely makes lips feel moist and smooth and adds a nice, subtle shimmer. As a lipbalm I really like it - it doesn't give too much colour but it moisturises very well and is really ideal for a daytime look on your hols - especially as you know it offers protection from the sun.
I bought this to use as a lipstick as I thought the idea of using it on eyes would be a little strange! I was also concerned that it would crease very easily as it has such a creamy texture. But in the name of research I decided to give it a go. As the cream is a flat lipstick shape, I found this a bit tricky to apply to my eyelids, and it may be easier to use a fingertip. It did glide on easily but it made no real difference to my eyelids as the colour is very subtle. It did give a slight shimmer, but I prefer my eyes to stand out a bit more. So I definitely wouldn't use this on my eyes again, but as a lipbalm I think it's really good - especially for the bargain price of £1.75! But realistically I wouldn't pay full price for it as I think there are much cheaper lipbalms out there which are just as good and also offer SPF coverage.
I always like to take advantage of the £5 No 7 vouchers Boots and although this normally means that I end up spending much more than I normally would do, I feel that often the No 7 quality exceeds the price in what is paid when it is on offer so I don't tend to mind. My latest purchase was this No 7 Anti-Ageing shimmer lip and eye Screen.
==~~What is it?~~==
This is a look and eye screen which can be used to apply as make up, as either a light eye shadow or a lipstick and due to the SPF 30 (though I do think there is also a SPF 15) it has anti-ageing qualities to help fight premature ageing.
==~~Price and Availability~~==
This item currently costs £7.00, though due to the offer I purchased mine for £2.00, which I feel is more than worth the money for this product. It is currently (15/05/2012) on a 3 for 2 across No 7 items at Boots.
Due to it being a No 7 item, it is limited to Boots; both in store and online, though there are sometimes Boots No 7 items being sold on eBay for considerably cheaper. This comes in a yellow/gold toned cardboard box and the packaging of the item itself is very simple. It looks very much like any other normal lipstick in a pale gold, slightly shimmery tube with gold 'No 7' on it. Although the packaging is very simple, I do feel it is still able to stand out in my bag due to most of my lipsticks being back and so the colour of this one contrasts greatly.
==~~Applying/ Using the Product~~==
There are obviously two ways in which you can apply this product, due to the fact that it is a duo. You apply them both in the same way and this can be applied either across the lips or the eyelids. I found I much preferred the way in which it applied to the lips, opposed to that of the eyelids and therefore find I rarely wear this on my eyelids.
===Applying to the lips===
As mentioned previously, I much preferred the way in which it applied to the lips as I felt it was very moisturising and smooth to apply. When applying I did not find the screen greasy at all and instead it felt very smoothing and soft, although I could feel the shimmer particles in the screen, which although they were not abrasive, I could definitely feel that they were there. I found that when I first applied the screen the colour was extremely pale and there was almost none of the gold or shimmer tones that I was expecting. It seemed to have a very slight colour on my lips, which was very similar to the original colour of my lips but looked they looked slightly more nude and blanked out.
As I continued to apply the screen I did feel that I had to build it up quite a lot in order for the colour to be seen, which did feel ever so slightly heavy on the lips. Nonetheless, it still had the very creamy and moisturising texture to it. After I had worked up some colour onto the lips I found that the colour of the screen was a nude/ gold colour with some very slight gold shimmer in it.
===Applying to the eyes===
Personally, I really did not like the way in which this applied to the eyelids as I felt it was too heavy and did not feel it felt all that pleasant. The first thing I noticed was how awkward this was to apply, due to it being a lipstick like screen I felt that it felt to heavy when trying to apply to the eyes and was very hard to smooth over them. It felt extremely heavy and instead of the consistency feel creamy as it had done over the lips, it instead felt very greasy and seemed to all gather within the crease of the eye.
Just like when applying the screen to the lips, it also took a while to work up any colour on the eyelids, which did mean applying quite a lot of pressure to the eye area. I found that that when I had eventually worked up the colour on my eyelid to a similar one of that on the lips, the screen felt very sticky and where the shimmer had looked ever so slightly sparkly on the lips, on the eyes it just seemed to add to the greasy finish.
I much prefer the results of when applying this to the lips over that of the eyes. I felt that on the lips the colour looked really nude, with a slight bit of shimmer which seemed perfect for the summer. I liked the fact that the colour did not seem to completely blank out my lips and the screen also did seem to have slightly beige tones in it, which added some depth to the colour on the lips. The screen felt extremely moisturising and creamy and although it did feel ever so slightly heavy, I did not find this unpleasant.
I found that the lip screen lasted around 3 or 4 hours on lips before the colour had faded. I was pleased to see that there was no stain left from this screen (which was most likely due to the colour being so nude) and my lips felt extremely moisturised and soft. I cannot really comment on the anti-ageing part as this aims to fight premature ageing and so there is no immediate effects when wearing this product, though the fact that when wearing this product I know that I am protecting my lips, whilst it is still a lovely warm, summer colour makes the product well worth the price.
I really did not like the results of this product on the eyes; I felt it was much too heavy and too greasy. I felt that the colour did not really stand out all that well on my eyes and it did not even manage to achieve the same nude colour which was on my lips. I felt that the shimmer on my eyelids just made them look slightly shiny and greasy and as I normally go for a more matte look on the eyes, I really did not like this.
I found that over time of wearing this on my eyes the product seemed to all gather in my crease line and also seemed to fade out unevenly. I found that it only lasted around an hour or two on my eyelids and if the weather was particularly hot I felt that it wore off even quicker than this. For this reason, although it is a great idea to protect the eyelids from burning and ageing, I would not really recommend to wear it on the eyelids.
Overall, I am pleased with my purchase, despite the fact that I do not like the way in which it applied or feels on the eyes I feel that the way in which it applies and looks on the lips and the fact that it is also protecting them that this product is well worth the money. Personally, I would not really call this product a gold shimmer as the colour is a lot more beige and nude toned, though I do feel these colours are perfect for the summer when it is most likely to be worn. I like the fact that it leaves my lips feeling soft and moisturised and the fact that it applies in the same way as a lipstick means it is very quick and easy to reapply- though this form of applying was extremely difficult over the eyelid.
Overall, I would pay full price for this product and would recommend it mainly because I felt the way in which it looks and feels on the lips is lovely and the fact that it helps fight premature ageing is a bonus. I find that most 'duo' products rarely work as well as two singular products and feel that this is the correct in the case of the lip and eye screen, though would definitely recommend the lip screen.
