Product: Clinique All about Eyes, Rich
Skincare has always been a huge part of my beauty routine, even more so importantly than Make-Up.
I'm at that age now where skincare is important for me and I need to take even better care of my skin with a more thorough skin care routine and what better way to start than with a good eye cream.
Before I bought Clinique All about Eyes, Rich, I had read numerous other reviews on the product and I was pleased with what I had read so I decided to try this out for myself.
I bought Clinique, All about Eyes, Rich from Debenhams as I had a gift voucher which I needed to use up. I paid £24.00 for a 15ml pot. The pot does look small but you really do get a lot of applications out of the small pot, this lasts me for approximately 6 months or so.
You can buy the normal version of the Clinique All about Eyes eye cream or you can buy the Clinique All about Eyes Rich eye cream. I decided to buy the Rich version as I felt that this was much more suitable for my skin type, it's recommended for very dry to dry skin.
The cream comes packaged in a beautifully peach/pink glass pot with a shiny silver screw top lid. It has the Clinique logo and description printed on the front of the pot and all other relevant information is printed at the back of the pot.
The eye cream is of a creamy formula with a rich cream consistency. It applies easily to the skin and leaves my eye area feeling extremely hydrated. The cream doesn't absorb immediately so you do have to wait a couple of minutes or so for it to sink into the skin.
I love this product, those little fine lines around my eye area have almost faded and it always gets rid of any puffiness.
A product which I will use time and time again. Pricey yes but for the amount of time it lasts me it's well worth paying that little extra for a product which actually does what it's intended to do and does it very well indeed.
Dooyoo Stars Rating: 5/5
I received this eye cream after asking for Clinique products for Christmas. I received the 7ml jar as part of a box set I was given, it came with a range of moisturising products.
As always Clinique products are elegant in their appearance with simply designed jars and packaging. This product comes in an opaque pink jar with the silver screw-top lid. The cream itself is of a peach colour. On the full sized jar there is a simple description of the products on the back of the jar giving you some information of what the product does and how best to apply it. On my smaller sample jar it gives you some of the main pointers you need. The lady on the counter was also very helpful in telling my partner some of the main component's which he then relayed to me.
Use of product
This product is a cream which is designed to reduce dark circles and puffiness around your eyes, a must for anyone who feels like lack of sleep is just a normal in life! I have been on the lookout for something to combat the dark circles that form under my eyes as the weeks go on after a holiday from work but hadn't thought of buying this until I received it by chance in my gift set. The cream is easily applied to the eye area and dries almost instantly. You only need a very small amount of cream to cover both eye areas well. I have only been using this product for a short time but feel I can already see the difference it is making. I usually have to cover up my bags with a cover up stick but I feel I am using less cover up stick thanks to the work of the eye cream. I feel this cream has left my eye area feeling more moisturised and in turn has helped to lessen the colour of the bags under my eyes, and reduce the swelling that sometimes occurs under a tired eye.
Clinique is a high end beauty product which comes with a price tag but I get round this by asking for products as gifts. My other half has assured me that the gift set he got me for Christmas was a good buy compared to the price of the individual elements. The cream is around £24 for a 15ml jar, this is pricey but for the small amount you use on a daily basis it is a worthwhile investment.
I have been using Clinique All About Eyes Rich eye cream for about a month now. It's the first eye cream I've ever used and I bought it because I am rapidly approaching the end of my 20s and thought it was about time to start taking better care of my skin. I chose the Clinique brand as I use them for a lot of my make up and have been fairly happy with the value for money ratio and the general quality of their products.
As I have generally quite dry skin I chose the Rich All About Eyes cream, rather than the lighter gel. I am mostly concerned with taking care of my skin, keeping it moisturised, and preventing wrinkles, and don't have much of a problem with dark circles, which is what some of the other products in the Clinique range are designed to combat.
The cream feels good on application, rich but not too heavy, and you only need to dab on a tiny bit to feel as though your skin is well moisturised. In the first few days I did feel like it made a difference to the appearance of my under-eye skin, making it look fresher and plumper, but now I am not sure - it's so hard to really give a definitive answer! I would say for sure that I would continue to use an eye cream as I feel it's important to keep that delicate skin moisturised, but I'm not sure if it has to be a 25 pound eye cream like this one from Clinique. I suspect that many other creams would be just about as good.
That being said, the Clinique cream will last at least 5 to 6 months I think, as you really do only need a little bit, and the pot packaging allows you to just take as much as you need without ending up with excess everywhere. The cream is basically scentless and completely non-irritating, and I guess if you can afford it, it is then probably a little luxury worth having for peace of mind that it's not going to do anything nasty to your skin.
I have dark circles under my eyes as well as a reddish-purple colour on the outer corner of my eyes, which makes me look tired and washed out. I use YSL's Touche Éclat to cover the darkness, but wanted to try and get rid of or at least minimise the dark patches, so that I could go without make-up and not feel so self concious. I read a lot of reviews and looked around a lot online, before deciding on the Clinique All about Eyes cream.
After buying this, I returned home to find that the extremely miserable woman on the Clinique counter had actually given me All about Eyes Rich, rather than the original All about Eyes. The main difference between the two seems to be that the rich one is more intensely moisturising than the original as well as being a thicker consistency, although it does still say it is suitable for all skin types.
The product is said to get rid of dark circles, shadows and fine lines whilst 'de-puffing', calming and strengthening the skins moisture barrier. So that's pretty much every skincare problem with your eyes covered then! I have to admit that being one of those people who has tried pretty much every skincare product going, I was quite sceptical that it would do all of these things, but given the price tag of Clinique products, hoped that it would at least do some of them!
The cream comes in the standard pale green Clinique box, inside of which is a small pink glass tub with a silver screw top lid. The packaging looks quite classy, whilst being simple and not too fussy in appearance.
The cream itself is a pale peach colour and has a glossy sheen to it. It is fragrance free, which I feel is essential as you wouldn't want to be putting a highly scented product near to your eyes. The cream is very thick and fairly solid and buttery in consistency. To pick it up, I simply rub my finger over the top of the cream - it's too thick to really scoop out of the tub as such. I must admit, I do prefer tubes with products like this where possible, because of course applying from a tub means there is a danger there will be transference of germs from fingers.
I find the best way to apply the cream is to take a very small amount and gently pat it into the eye area. The skin around the eyes is rather delicate so it is best not to rub or drag the skin where possible.
As the cream is rather thick, it does take a little time to sink in. I have also found that it leaves a slight greasy residue on my skin. When applying make-up over the top of this, I do find that the greasiness can make my make-up a little difficult to apply, so I try to apply this at least 20 minutes before putting my make-up on. Obviously like many people I am often time-poor and cannot always wait, so often I will not bother applying this as I know I won't have time to do my make-up if I apply the cream as well.
The first result I can see with this is that on mornings where I have puffy eyes, they are soothed really quickly and the puffiness goes down within minutes of applying the cream. I must admit, I do sometimes wonder if the patting motion is also helping just as much as the cream itself. A very slight sheen is left on my skin which does make my whole eye area look much brighter in general. I do have some fine lines around my eyes, but I personally don't think I can see any difference to them after using this. Even after several months of use, I don't feel the dark circles under my eyes are reduced at all either, although the brightness around my eye area in the few hours after applying the cream does minimise their appearance to some degree and give me an all round healthier, more awake look.
As well as my eye area looking better, I do find the cream very moisturising as well. My skin is generally quite dry and this cream hydrates it well. During the winter my boyfriend's skin became incredibly dry due to the central heating and cold winds, causing the skin on his eyelids to take on a strange scaly appearance - I've honestly seen nothing like it! I let him borrow this and it really did sort the problem out, so I can confirm that it works well to moisturise even the driest of skin.
One thing I have found with this cream is less is definitely more. If I apply too much, I find the cream works its way into the corner of my eyes, which not only looks gross, but is really uncomfortable -especially as I wear contact lenses.
Like all Clinique products this cream is not the cheapest around. A 15ml tub costs £22.50 from Boots. The box indicates that a tub of this should be used up within 6 months of opening. Mine has been open a little longer than this and it still seems fine to me, so I've continued to use it and have had no problems. I use this probably four or five times a week and as such a small amount is needed per use, I can't help thinking that even if I was using this on a daily basis it would be difficult to use it all in 6 months.
Overall, I have mixed feelings about this cream. It's good as a moisturiser and it does brighten my under-eye area and get rid of puffiness. On the other hand, it doesn't reduce my dark circles which is what I was really hoping for and it takes quite some time for the greasy residue to fade. It's also really expensive for what it is and I feel that on the whole I can only give it three stars, because the level of performance doesn't match the price tag in my opinion.
I had previously been using the clinique all about eyes and when this ran out a few months ago I spotted the clinique all about eyes rich which is a very similar product but is designed to work on even heavier eyes like mine as I am getting very little sleep at the moment due to stress so really needed something to remove the dark puffy circles from around my eyes and this promised to.
It comes I a lovely looking glass tub as do most clinique creams with a chrome lid that is a screw off lid so no chance of this coming open on its own and leaking which is a good job as you only get 15ml of cream for £22 but it only requires a tiny little dot of cream as you are only using it on your eyes so it does last a very long time.
It claims to be suitable for all skin types and I do have quite sensitive skin on my face and I haven't had any problems with this cream.
This eye cream has to be without a doubt the best I have ever tried, it takes away all the puffiness out of the underneath of my eyes; it reduces the fine lines around my eyes and takes away the dark circles too.
It isn't a miracle cure and does take time to work like any other cream but I noticed the puffiness going after the first few hours and the dark circles reducing slowly, it took 3 days for the dark circles to go completely but if I use it every day they stay away which is great.
I would recommend this cream to anyone, it does have a greasy feel to it, which I was a bit worried about as my sin is already quite greasy but it didn't cause any problems and sank into the skin nicely.
Clinique 'all about eyes rich' has been my solution to dry, dehydrated, puffy and dark circled eyes.
I started off using 'all about eyes' (the less rich version) and this is in a gel consistency. I found that this was not combating my dry eyes so I moved on to try 'all about eyes rich.' This is in the form of a richer cream. It is to be used morning and evening under the eyes as well as on the eye lid and under the eye brows.
Why I love it?
Although it is a rich cream it is not overly rich so it does not sink in. Also I have suffered from getting white spots around the eye area which I was told was due to dehydration, and luckily this eye cream has minimised these spots which has been such a relief. I also love it because it sinks in quick enough to apply my concealer around the eyes about 30 seconds later. Another point I love about this eye cream is that it acts as a great eye makeup base without creasing my eyeshadow. It is £22.00 for 15ml which I think is reasonable because a little goes a long way.
I actually have extremely oily skin however it is just the eye area which is dry. I have been using this product for about 8 months now and would definitely recommend it to anyone who suffers from dry, dehydrated and tired looking eyes.
I am a big Clinique fan, I think their products are top notch! I am not afraid to slate a product though if I feel it is not upto standard, but I am yet to find a product of theirs that I dislike.
Clinique's all about eye rich is a fantastic product. I had a tester of both the 'all about eyes' cream and the 'all about eyes rich' cream. All about eyes is a very lightweight cream for under the eye, it was a nice product but I did not feel the need to purchase it (in my honest opinion I thought the cream was a little too thin and watery) I then tried all about eyes rich, and I absolutely fell in love with it!
This cream is far richer and thicker than it's predecessor. The second you apply it to the eye area you feel the moisture drink into the skin. I have been using this for two weeks and I can see and feel a difference. I do not have dark circles or many lines under my eyes as I look younger than my age (I am 26 but I still can't get served in a pub!), but I am a graphic designer and I am up for many nights of the week working hard, I feel that it leaves my eyes looking less than their best!
I place a layer of the rich cream under my eye in the delicate area. I have noticed that I was getting very small lines, but now I am using the cream I can't really see them anymore. I had a small discolouration under my eyes (beginning of dark circles I think) and they have reduced. I feel that to get benefit from this product you have to use it in the morning and at night, and continue to use it.
I will use this product for many years to come. I feel more confident that I am giving my skin a helping hand as I am getting older and heading rapidly towards the big 30! My mum has been nagging me for years to start a proper skincare routine "because I will thank her later"! I feel normal moisturisers don't hit the mark for the eye area, and often it is quite dangerous for the eye as it's so sensitive. Always use a specific eye cream that is dermatologically tested for that area.
The skin around our eyes is actually TEN TIMES thinner than the rest of our faces. Therefore I feel it's necessary to have something to help us!
What they say about their product "Moisture-rich formula diminishes the look of undereye circles, shadows, puffs and fine lines--immediately and over time. Helps boost natural collagen production. De-puffs with calming botanicals. Even strengthens skin's moisture barrier against common irritants".
I agree with their statement. If I see results this quickly I can only hope for as good a result in the future.
£ 19.57 for 15ml, available at http://www.boots.com or http://www.clinique.co.uk
I got this product in a Bonus Set, which was excellent value for money. I had been ready some reviews about this product, as i didnt want to waste alot of money on an eye cream that wasnt going to do what it said it would.
I suffer from dark circles under my eyes and had read that this product was excellent at reducing the darkness of the circles. So after reading alot of excellent reviews, i wen to my local boots store to buy a pot. And i ended up getting a real bargin as i got the All About Eyes Rich, Clinique Turnaround Concentrate and Turnaround Concentrate Face Mask, all for £30.
I do not rate this product very highly, as i have been using it for six months now and have not noticed any difference to the circles under my eyes. On a positive note though, it is again, like all of the Clinique products excellent value for money. As i have used only a 1/4 of the pot in six months and that is using the product twice daily.
I do not rate this product very highly, as i have seen not difference - even after using it for six months. But i did read alot of reviews ( 30 + ) and all of those were excellent.
Moisture-rich eye cream diminishes the look of under-eye circles, shadows, fine lines-instantly and over time. De-puffs, calms with botanicals. Helps boost natural collagen production. Strengthens skin's moisture barrier against common irritants. To use: Use morning and night, apply sparingly with one finger to entire eye area using a gentle patting motion.
