For someone who didn’t use eye creams until quite recently, I have a remarkable number of pots of Clinique’s ‘All About Eyes’ knocking about the place. This is because they are typically included in duty free Clinique sets and I can’t resist a bargain - even if it’s something I don’t use very often. The pot I am basing this review on is a 7ml one that’s roughly half the size of a standard tub. This one lives on my bedside table and is something I sometimes reach for as an early morning wake up booster.
The full sized product costs £25 for 15 ml.
The pot has a silver lid and a pinkish clear base which hints at the colour of the eye cream inside. It’s a light peachy pink and whilst Clinique themselves call it an eye cream, I’d say it’s more like a halfway product between a cream and a gel. It’s light in texture and when I pat it on, it gives a slight cooling effect. It spreads very easily and soaks in quickly and there’s nothing more than a very light, delicate scent which I like - I don’t want a heavily fragranced product so close to my eyes.
One thing I find confusing with eye creams is what the heck you’re actually supposed to do with them. Many seem to be only for the under eye area and the crows feet and with those I’m left wondering what I’m supposed to put on my eyelids. Clinique are more directive and actually say this is good for under eye and on the eyelids.
Clinique say that All About Eyes is to reduce puffs and circles which is probably why I haven’t tended to bother with it as I don’t have puffy eyes or dark circles. However, I do like the gentle moisturising effect that it has and I particularly like the cool effect on application.
I am still relatively new to the world of eye creams but am planning to work my way through my stockpile of All About Eyes. I also have the serum eye in the same range which I like a lot. I would not go out and pay £25 for a 15 ml pot of this but if it continues to be included in Clinique sets, I’d certainly see it as a good bonus and I’d use it. If you’re weighing up the choice between the cream and the roller, then I’d recommend to go for the serum roller instead.
I received a small sample of the Clinique all about eyes as a free gift with purchase. It was a product I had read about and was keen to try but was put off by the high price so I was really pleased to be able to try it. The little peach coloured pot is lovely, with a nice modern silver screw top lid. I liked the design of the packaging because it was easy to get the product out, and easy to get to the last remnants so there would be no waste.
I applied a small amount of this product to the under eye area with my ring finger before going to bed one night. I immediately noticed how incredibly moisturising this product is - it has a gel like consistency and is very smooth to apply. It does take a while to sink into the skin but then leaves such soft feeling skin. I think the consistency of this product does however make it unsuitable for daywear underneath make up (I found that concealer tended to drag across the skin over this product, and was not easily blendable).
If you are looking for something to reduce wrinkles I'm not sure this is the right product as I didn't really feel there was a wrinkle reducing effect as such. As a preventative measure though I'm sure this would be a great choice as it is so moisturising. I really did love this product but with such a high price tag for a tiny amount of product I think it would have to work a bit more magic.
I've been a fan of Clinique products since I first tried them a year ago. I started using the 3 step system with great results and I was keen to try out other products of theirs so I made the most of their bonus time offer one time where you get a lot of sample size products to try out. This included the ALL ABOUT EYES cream.
Usually this will set you back around £25 for 15ml which is quite pricey. So always make the most of offers they have and extra points in Boots for example.
I started using my 7ml test pot a few weeks ago and have been impressed. The cream itself is almost gel like and has a peachy colour to it. You only need a tiny amount so it'll go a long way.
I use the cream after the first 2 steps of the 3 step system and I apply it all around my eyes and eyelids. It feels so smooth and silky, it's a joy to use.
As with any eye cream it'll take a few weeks to see any effects, but I have noticed my skin being smoother and more refined. I don't have any wrinkles around my eyes yet, just the occasional dark circles which I have noticed are getting less.
I will finish the sample pot and would definitely purchase this if I can get a good deal as £25 for a tiny pot is a lot of money.
Overall you are getting a great quality product but it is a bit on the pricey side. So you really need to weigh up the pros and cons here and whether you'd be willing to pay the amount of money on a beauty product. But Clinique also offer great advice in stores and a money back guarantee if you're not satisfied with the product so well worth a try.
I didn't actually buy this - but am going to! I got a 5ml 'taster' pot in my free gift with my last 'Dramatically different' Moisturiser.
The little glass pot with plastic lid is cute and feels nice and solid. It states that it 'reduces circles, puffs' and I think that it does!
After my morning shower and daily cleanse routine, I take a cotton bud and dip the tip in the glass jar. I then dot under my eyes and under my brow. I then gently smooth the cream into my skin with a gentle dabbing motion rather than a pulling or 'rubbing in'. I did actually get a demo at a Clinique counter so it's worth going along or calling to make an appointment for a free consult.
The cream has a lovely subtle smell and a beautiful silky feel. It really does reduce puffyiness but you do have to be careful not to get it in your eye. Like most beauty products, it is designed for on the skin only. I find if I smooth it too close to my eye it will water.
I like this product that much that I will buy some when this little pot finishes and boy does it last! At between £18 and £25 on the web, I think I'll wait until my local store has a special offer so I can also get the little 'taster' freebies. You never know what I'll end up trying next!
I first came across this wonderful product when I was a student on my year abroad. We did a whole lot of partying and staying up late, yet my friend always managed to look awake and fresh. I asked her what her secret was and she showed me her pot of this wonder cream.
I just had to have some!
I was already a self confessed Clinique Freak, as I love their allergy tested products for my eczema ravaged skin. Once back in the UK I was straight to a Clinique counter to invest! That was 13 years ago, and this product is still a favourite of mine.
The Clinique website sells this for £25 for a 15ml pot or £40 for a 30ml pot. My current pot is a miniature that I got free at Bonus Time (when you get a load of freebies with purchase of two Clinique products from the Clinique counter). It is 7ml and will last me a few months.
The cream itself is actually almost a gel. It feels light and smooth. You are supposed to tap it gently into the area around your eyes using your ring finger, which means you barely use any of the product at all on application. Apply twice a day for best results.
On the skin it feels luxurious and silky. I like to leave it a few minutes before applying my make-up to be sure it has absorbed, as I don't find it sinks in immediately.
It doesn't help my dark circles much, but I have absolutely no puffiness when I use this, no matter how late I stay up, or how bad my hayfever is.
I definitely recommend it if you have the money. You really do get what you pay for.

My son has suffered from moderate to severe eczema since birth. Due to this my sleep has been some what disturbed. I have also occasionally suffered from some vitamin/mineral deficiency, I feel all these factors may have contributed towards having under eye circles. I looked like I was tired all the time and it was the one thing that made me feel like I was aging. I had to rely heavily on under eye concealers.
I had previously tried some cheap under eye treatments and once I purchased No 7 under eye serum but even after finishing the tube quite quickly I did not feel it really made a difference. I decided to just hide the problem with concealer but over time I realized the area under my eyes and above my eyes was just getting more darker and even the best of concealers was not enough.
One evening I asked my friend for advice as I realised even after having 3 kids under 4, her eyes seemed to be in perfect youthful condition. She also happened to have similar skin tone, skin type as me and we both have sensitive skin. She claimed she has used Clinique All About Eyes for a long period of time and had never really suffered from eye bags.
When I reached home I decided to conduct an internet search on Clinique All About Eyes. Prior to my conversation with my friend I had never heard of this product. Clinique is a very popular brand and I have previously bought some make up from them but I had never tried their skincare range. While browsing the internet I realised a tiny 15ml pot costs £24 plus. I became hesitate as it was expensive for a eye cream for me and I was unsure if it would even be worth it or even work. Next I decided to check out some reviews for the All About Eyes cream and quickly realised it had won a beauty award and had many positive reviews. I decided to try out a smaller size of 7ml and bought it for about £10 from eBay.
The Clinique All About Eyes cream arrived quickly and I was disappointed that it looked even more tiny than I had imagined. I impatiently tried it on and I was highly impressed that a tiny amount was extremely moisturizing. I felt it was very refreshing and gave a smooth, cool feeling. It fitted into my daily routine very quickly as I looked forward to applying it as I loved the cool refreshing feeling it gave. I also felt it was very moisturising and my under eye skin looked more smoother.
The small tiny pot of 7ml surprised me as it lasted for a couple of months as very little is needed for each application. After the tiny pot had finished honestly I had seen little improvement in the dark circles but nevertheless I purchased more of the product. I found the product to be highly moisturizing and I was happy even if it did not get rid of my under eye bags as at least it was making my skin more smoother and a glowing effect.
I found the price range to be mostly about £24- £29 pounds for a 15ml pot. I decided to buy straight from the Clinique website as at least it was 100 percent genuine and authentic. I know probably the other sellers were also selling authentic Clinique range but my slight concern was that some sellers were not selling in the actual box that comes with the pot and the container containing the cream is not sealed.
Once my 15ml All About Eyes arrived, I was happy to find some free samples from Clinique range. I continued using the cream daily and my under eyes were definitely getting much more smoother.
It has been a few more months and now the container still contains at least half of the cream. Therefore it is definitely long lasting. It is small enough to fit in my handbag but I find if I apply in the morning it is enough for the day. Even if I wear any concealer it helps make it look more natural as my skin is no longer dry. The cream is a sort of peachy colour and is extremely soft. I only need to dab my middle finger in and dab around my eyes and gentle rub in. It is allergy tested and as I suffer from sensitive skin I do feel it is very gentle. It is 100 % fragrance free, as well as ophthalmologist tested.
Now the important bit, did it actually work? I am pleasantly surprised and happy to announce that my under eye circles have drastically reduced and are quite minimal now. I have also been taking vitamin supplements so I am not 100 percent sure if it was only due to this cream but I do think it helped a lot. It is not an over night cure but after 6 months or more it really did make a huge difference. Only problem now is that I find the product quite addict so will continue to buy.
After trying various drug store eye creams and being very disappointed I decided to up my game and go for a Clinique eye cream, in this case you do get what you pay for!
Clinique is widely available online, in all department stores and in most Boots stores aswell so it's pretty easy to get hold of.
* Lightweight eye cream diminishes the appearance of eye puffs, darkness and fine lines.
* Non-creep, cream/gel formula actually helps hold eye makeup in place
I'll start by saying this is my favourite eye cream to date, it definately deserves all the hype and awards! In the winter months everyones skin suffers, and my under-eye area was definately in need of some moisture. It was definately the weather and NOT all those late night Christmas drinks I swear! Straight away I noticed the difference, those dry patches disappeared along with any puffyness and darkness under the eyes! I applied it morning and night and found it soaked in nicely and didn't interfere with my make-up application. It is very lightweight and non-greasy.
It comes in a small clear container with a silver lip, very simple as all Clinique products tend to be. I like this, it's classy and not too over the top.
HOW TO USE:
* Use morning and night after 3-Step Skin Care
* With ring finger, apply sparingly to entire eye area using a gentle patting motion.
VALUE FOR MONEY:
This eye cream comes in two sizes:
15ml for £24.00
30ml for £39.00
I really do recommend this product. It's pricey but worth it! It takes such a tiny amount of product that the small container does last a long time! GO FOR IT!
My aunt is a big Clinique fan. She has a habit of going down to their stand in the department store every couple of months, talking to their advisers and she always comes back with something or the other. I never got what her hype was all about. Then she got a free gift with one of her purchases one day with a few miniature products and she decided to give it to me to test and try out. I was obviously very pleased because I had wanted to try the products out but I didn't want to spend money on something I was unsure about.
The first thing I tried was this all about eyes cream which came in a small glass orange coloured container. The packaging was appealing I must admit. One of my main problem areas is actually my dark circles under my eyes so I was very impatient to see what this cream could do for me. I applied it to my under eye area before going to bed and it was very smooth and lightweight and felt like a luxurious product. It softened my under eye area, it hydrated it but after continuous use for a week, I didn't see much of a difference. It was really disappointing because I did have high hopes. I just think that it would maybe work for someone with tired eyes or dehydrated eyes, but if you naturally have dark shadows, this will not lighten them at all. For an everyday eye cream just to make sure your eye area is looked after, this is perfect. But if you have some sort of issue with wrinkles or dark circles, this isn't going to solve it.
It is said to be a moisture rich cream which in the long run, boosts natural collagen production. I of course had other expectations. I do not doubt on the other hand that it is definitely hydrating for the eye area.
Another thing that bothered me a little about this cream was that it smelt very much of chemicals. It didn't smell very nice which I wouldn't care about had the cream worked.
A 15ml bottle retails for 25 pounds which is a lot of money considering it is only a small amount. I'm glad I didn't spend any of my money buying the product. I definitely need something that specifically targets dark circles. I know they have now come out with 'even better eyes dark circle corrector' and as much as I am tempted to go and buy it, I am holding out a little longer for other people to see results.
In relative terms I am only young, so do not already have tons of wrinkles which I feel like I need eye cream to combat. I do however believe that using eye cream from a relatively early age should (all fingers crossed) combat ageing skin before it even happens. It is difficult to find an eye cream which is marketed at all ages and stages of eyes. There is also such a wide variety of prices of eye creams on the market that it is so hard to know where to start. Do you really get what you pay for? I buy quite a lot of Clinique make up and skin care. Quite often they have special offers, of when you buy two items (one to be skin care) you get a make up bag of small trial sized goodies for free. Therefore I try to buy items when these offers are on as I love trying all the new products. Recently one of the goodie bags gave me some of this eye cream, which I was very eager and excited to try.
Price and availability:
'All abut the eyes' is available from all Clinique counters, which you can mainly find in large department stores such as Fenwicks and John Lewis. You can also find some counters in selected, larger Boots stores. For example a 15ml tub at John Lewis is £24. It seems like a lot of money and is such a shock when you buy any eye cream as the tubs are tiny and you feel like you get such little material for your money. Eye cream goes a long way though and you only need to use a tiny bit each day, so it will last longer than you think!
The eye cream comes in a pink, clear, thick plastic tub. There are no pictures on it, just minimalist writing, which is relatively classy, but this is a premium make up brand. The cream is an off white colour, quite thick, but smooth and not gloopy. It is very cool to the touch which is very soothing if you have tired eyes. I rub it in about 90% leaving a tiny bit on the surface to soak in over time.
I put this on at night, before bed, once I have taken my make up off and fully cleansed my face. I only use this on my eyes, and use other, standard moisturising cream on my other problem areas. You do not need much of this cream at all. I rub it all round my eyes, on top, underneath and into the outer corners. The shorter your nails are they less you will waste-as I find when I have longer nails I get a bit trapped underneath which is a waste when the price per ml is so high!
Initially the feeling is very cooling and relaxing. After a couple of weeks my eye skin feels slightly firmer. For this reason I will carry on using the cream daily.
I honestly feel with eye cream we will never really know quite how effective it is. If you could do a test over 20 years of putting it on one eye and not the other then you would really be able to tell, but unfortunately due to the nature of the product and circumstances that is not at all possible. From what I have seen of this cream so far I really like it and will continue to use it until I have reason to stop!
I got a trial size pot of this free with another purchase.
I have never used an eye cream before but I've been using my little pot for a few weeks now. It does go much further than you think and you only need a very small amount.
I have found it to be very refreshing especially when your eyes are tired. The cream feels lovely to apply and I do feel like it improves dark lines at least temporarily. I put it on before my makeup and this along with the Clinique moisturiser they make a very good base for applying makeup. You can apply it over the top of your makeup as well and this can wake you up and make you look that little bit better mid-way through the day.
I'm usually quite cynical about expensive toiletries but Clinique does seem to make good quality products that are probably worth paying that little bit more for.
The main downside is the price. I wouldn't pay full price for it personally but do plan to check out whether they are any deals or bargains to be had. If money was no object then I would definitely buy it.
Although this is quite pricey for the amount you get, what you get is pure quality. This product smells amazing and feels light and refreshing. I apply it under and around my eyes once a day and they feel bright all day. It actually makes me feel more awake and is good for the day after a big night out!
As it comes in quite a small pot it is easy to put into your purse or handbag and carry it around with you all day. It also absorbs really quickly so can be applied any time of the day. It makes me look and feel more awake. I am only 19 so I can't comment on its ability to get rid of bags or lines but it certainly does feel refreshing.
I have tried many clinique products and so far have never had a bad thing to say about any of them.
I had heard good things about this eye cream for a while before I first tried this prize winning product (Winner of the Best Eye Cream in the Sunday Times Beauty Awards 2010). I am a big fan of Clinique and I use a lot of their skin care products. The only thing initially putting me off this was the price tag of £23 for a small 15 ml pot. So was it worth it?
=== What does it do? ===
Clinique All About Eyes is a general eye cream suitable for all skin types. It is intended to reduce puffiness, reduce the visibility of dark circles, plump up the skin and hide fine lines and wrinkles. Supposedly the "lightweight gel formula" also helps make up to stay in place.
=== Use ===
It is recommended to use this twice a day, morning and night, after the 3 step routine. Some people prefer to use use the All About Eyes before they use the moisturiser.
=== Packaging ===
All About Eyes comes in a small, round glass tub with a silver lid. It contains 15ml of cream. The pot is compact, light and very easy to travel with, take in your handbag if staying over night etc. However, the small size does unfortunately mean they don't last very long. Still, at least with a pot rather than a tube you can scrape out every last bit to get your money's worth. I also find that the finished tub can be useful as a travel sized container e.g. to put foundation in for a weekend away when I don't want to pack a glass pump bottle in my luggage.
=== Opinion of the cream itself ===
I used this twice a day as recommended for about 2 months until my first pot ran out. When I replaced it, I started to only use it at night and use a different eye cream in the mornings so it would last longer.
The cream has a lovely texture - light but creamy, so smooth and silky. It feels very nice to use. I put a few small dots of it under my eyes and pat it in. It sinks into the skin quickly, giving an instant brightening effect, although nothing too drastic.
When I first started using it I felt it had quite a distinct improvement on my under eye circles, possibly because it has some light reflecting particles. However over time I realised there has not been a lasting improvement, and I do still have the same quite dark circles. The improvement is only a "trick" when you put the cream on, so it does make your eyes look better for the day, but it is not a permanent change to your actual skin.
I also use a tiny amount of my eyelids as I have suffered from dry eyelids. All About Eyes fixes this by adding a bit of moisture and smoothing the skin. It tackled this problem for me perfectly.
I really love this cream and recommended it to a few people. When my first pot ran out, I repurchased another. If money is no object then I recommend All About Eyes with no hesitation. However, my second pot is already about 2/3 finished and I am starting to think that it is an expensive habit, so when this pot is used up I am going to try some cheaper eye creams and see how they compare.
=== Over all ===
It is a great cream, but I will take 1 star off for the price, small pot and the fact that it hasn't permanently improved my undereye circles (though I am not sure there is any product out there which can do that).
This is a product i never bought, and don't really intend to buy either. I received it as a free sample in one of clinique's offers. It came in a orange pot with a green lid, and inside was a thin white cream. The instructions said to pat cream into eyes morning and night and claims to reduce the appearance of bags, dark circles and lines.
The cream like all Clinique products, is 100% fragrance free and has been allergy tested. On application it felt almost powdery in texture, but sunk in easily to the skin around my eyes. I found that it did leave behind a powdery residue on my eyelids and i needed to wait a fair amount of time before applying makeup as my make up seemed to slip of my skin otherwise.
While i do think my eyes look less puffy when i use it, it does nothing for the colour of my dark circles, which remain as dark as they where before i used the product. As i don't have wrinkles, i can't really asses the effect of its anti-wrinkle component.
The sample i received was only 5mls, and it lasted approximately a month, so it is probably good value for money, but i don't think it is the best product for me. Possibly if you don't suffer from bad circles under the eye and don't wear much makeup this will work for you.
After hearing great reviews about this product I decided to invest. At only 5.95 for a 5ml tub off ebay it was a bargain off the 30 pound 15ml tub from the clinique website and boots. This particular product of clinique's has earned beauty awards so it must be good, right?
The product comes in a small orange tub and green lid which is perfect for carrying around. The tub is pretty much full with the cream. Although it may not look like much but it lasts a fair bit of time. Also a little bit goes a long way which is great as it means my eye area isnt clogged up with cream.
When first applied it has quite a gel like consistency instead of.the usual cream. Having very dry under eye this cream keeps them well moistureized throughout the day. Clinique claims that this all about eyes cream can reduce dark circles and puffy eyes. I havto sy after about two weeks I have noticed a difference. I have severe.dark circles and this cream has seemed to reduce them from usıng it morning and night. Where puffy under eyes are concerned I can't contribute much as that's not an issue for me however the cream has a cooling sensation when applied which I assume is to reduce any puffy under eyes. One thing that I love is it can be used as a great under eye primer. It stops my concelear from caking and helps it last all day. The only bad side is it takes a while for the cream to absorb into the skin which is quite annoying as it slows down my routine by an extra five minutes and I dont have that time in the morning.
Overall a great product that does its job and well worth the money. A beauty must have for people like me.
I first used Clinique's All About Eyes when a sample-size was included in one of the 'Bonus Time' packs that Clinique offer a couple of times each year. It's always worth buying the required two Clinique items during 'Bonus Time' to get these free packs, as it's a great opportunity to try other Clinique products. A good marketing ploy for Clinique, and on this occasion it worked, because when the sample pot was empty I did actually rush out and buy the full-size product.
The sample pot was just 5ml, and it lasted me four weeks of twice-daily use. Last week I bought a full-size (15 ml) pot, so I'm expecting to get at least three months out of it. At £22.50 a pot, that works out at about £1.70 per week. Not cheap, but I have paid a lot more for far inferior products.
The packaging is just what I expect from Clinique - classy and sleek. The pot is made of palest-pink plastic (or is it glass? I'm sat here tapping it and I'm still not sure!) with silver and white writing, and it has their standard silver lid. Definitely pretty enough to display in the bathroom or bedroom.
The product describes itself as a lightweight cream-gel. It is certainly lightweight, but to me it feels much more like a fine cream than a gel. It is pinky-cream in colour and fragrance-free. The pot tells me that it is allergy and ophthalmologist tested, so it should be fine on sensitive skin, though I can't vouch for that as I never react to any product.
This product makes some hefty claims. It says it will diminish the look of circles, shadows, puffs and lines, plus make the skin around the eyes stronger and smoother. I have reached the age where I would need surgery to achieve all that, so I don't bear a grudge against Clinique that my appearance isn't dramatically different. I do think that my wrinkles are slightly less visible, and just maybe my eyes aren't as puffy. And I've still only been using it for five weeks, so maybe I need to be a bit more patient!
To me, the real wonder of this cream is the way my eye area feels with regular use of the product. My whole eye area feels soothed, softer and comfortable. It feels like it did twenty years ago! It is very easy to apply with gentle fingertips - no pressure is needed. Once applied, the cream is absorbed immediately and is completely invisible - no shine or greasiness. It also acts as an excellent base for make-up, with no 'sliding-off' of eye shadow or eye liner which I have noticed with other (cheaper!) creams.
In short, I do think there is some small improvement in the appearance of my eye area. And I can categorically state that the area FEELS wonderful, and for that I am giving the product full marks. Obviously I would like it to cost less, but I accept that quality must be paid for and without a doubt this IS quality.
