“ Brand: Dermalogica / Type: Eye Care / Suitable for: Eye / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Repairs, „
This was another product that I got a free sample of, but instead of getting this in a tiny little tube, I just got a few sachets of this popped into my bag when I bought a full sized product. I do like the brand that is Dermalogica but it is that little bit expensive. The products work well for my Greasy skin.
I cannot comment on the packaging of this product since I just got little sachets. I have looked online for this product and see that this comes in a 15ml tube and the price can be around £26-£29. Pretty expensive for such a small tube, but you know what brand named prices can be like. You only need a little blob of this so it may last you a long enough time.
So this is for to put under your eyes and this will help the delicate area. This will hydrate the area and help with any lines that you have as well. There isn't much smell to this but I would say that it is an earthy kind of scent. There is Plant extracts as well as Shea Butter in this Cream. Also after looking online I see that there is Cucumber in this too, which will probably help to soothe and cool the area.
Just squeeze a little of this onto your finger and then dab this under your eyes. I tend to just have a few spots of this and then I rub gently to get this all rubbed in. At first this feels a little greasy, but after a couple of minutes the sheen from this seems to have went away, and my under eye area looks moisturised.
I used this product every night for about 10 days and this was until my sachets were finished and I found that this worked well. I don't really have lines at my eyes yet, but I do often have dark cirles and lines there and I found that my under eyes didn't look so dark and puffy looking. I felt that this done a great job.
I would consider buying this as it is a really good product, but it's just the price that puts me off this.
The skin around our eyes is often the first thing to give away our age and I am quite rough with the delicate skin in that area as I am constantly removing and inserting my contacts. My eyes are also the only part of me that I like so I don't mind spending that bit extra trying to find the best products to keep that delicate skin looking younger and fresher. And this is why I decided to give the Intensive Eye Repair by Dermalogica a try.
What does it do?
The Intensive Eye Repair product is a cream that has been specifically designed for use on the delicate skin around the eye area. It promises to hydrate the skin and reduce any fine lines that have developed. By using natural ingredients, it also fights off any further premature aging and keeps the eye area looking healthy and young. It is described as being suitable for those with dry to very dry skin types but as it for use around the eyes, I think it's suitable for even oily skinned ladies like me and gentlemen too.
How does it work?
The product contains phyto-nutrients which are extracted from plants and are included in order to replenish the skin and to allow the skin to absorb plenty of nutrients. They also fight against the free radicals in the skin which would otherwise have caused premature aging.
Shea butter is also included and the substance is one of nature's greatest moisturisers. The butter is easily absorbed by the skin and gives it a long lasting hydration which ensures that the skin remains supple and fewer fine lines will form.
Avocado is included which is rich in the fatty acids that are essential for the maintenance of healthy skin cells. Its presence means that the skin around the eyes will remain plump and firm, while maintaining a good level of moisture in the skin.
The Cucumber within the cream has a soothing effect on the eyes which helps to reduce any puffiness and makes you look more awake. It also helps to soften the skin. Butcherbroom is included to increase the blood circulation meaning a reduction in dark circles beneath the eyes. Arnica helps to keep the skin supple and in good health.
The cream is also packed full of vitamins including A, C and E which nourish the skin and allow it to remain looking youthful. Vitamin B5 is present in order to plump up the skin and to help it to retain moisture which reduces wrinkles. Extracts of grape seed contains antioxidants which remove toxins from the skin.
How to use the product?
The product is to be applied to clean and dry skin. I squeeze out a tiny amount and gently pat it on the skin beneath my eye, at each corner. Make sure you are never tempted to rub in the cream, even if you are in a rush because this will result in more wrinkles forming. Once it has been fully absorbed, I apply my make up as normal. I also apply this cream sometimes just before going to bed.
Packaging and Price
The product comes in a plain white tube with a grey screw top lid. I bought mine for £28.50 from the Lookfantastic website and for that price you get 15ml of the cream. It is available from Dermalogica stores and also from many online websites. The price will vary greatly so it's a good idea to shop around.
This cream is my saviour and has instant results on my skin. From the very first use I noticed an improvement in the skin around my eye area. The puffiness is visibly reduced which makes me look much better in the morning, although I realise that the patting action used to apply the product contributes to this. My dark circles are also reduced. Not to the point where I can leave my Touch Eclat untouched but enough for friends to comment on the improvement if they have seen me using it.
At the moment, I luckily haven't got any wrinkles around my eyes but I did notice a few fine lines appearing at the corner of my eyes where the skin creases. That area has improved with use of this cream and the whole area beneath my eyes seems plumper and firmer. I'm not sure about the results it would have on more mature skin as I don't think it's rich enough.
Even though it is described as being a product for dry skin, it isn't overly heavy and doesn't feel greasy on my skin. It has a perfect consistency that is easily absorbed by my skin and leaves no greasy or shiny residue behind. You really don't need to use much at all so although it's expensive, it will last a very long time. My make up can be easily applied on top without any problems.
It is a pleasure to use and soothes my skin nicely. You can feel it moisturising the area and it feels like you are giving your skin a treat. I store mine in the fridge and it feels extra nice when it is applied to the skin after it has been cooled. It doesn't sting at all or make my eyes water but obviously, you still need to be careful that you don't get it in your eyes or it probably will sting!
My only problem with the product is that it doesn't contain an SPF so that delicate area won't be protected in the sunshine unless I put another cream on top.
All in all, this is a great eye cream packed full of natural ingredients which reduces the puffiness of my eyes and the dark circles beneath them. It makes me look more awake and keeps the skin looking hydrated and fresh all day. I'm not to sure about the effects on wrinkles but as it keeps your skin so soft and supple, you certainly won't get any new ones.
