I first tried this product in a sample kit received when buying perfume from Elizabeth Arden. It was a product i just stuck in my makeup box, didn't use and forgot about. That was until one day i decided i should have a play and was converted! For such a small tube probably as long as your middle finger the product lasts for ages - This is because only a small amount of product needs to be used.
The product is designed to act a a base for eye makeup (As with the name to 'Fix' your makeup in place) the idea is to apply a small amount (half a pea size...enough for both eyes) to your index finger and apply to the bare eye lid, the product is then blended from the lid all the way to the brow bone. The product should then be left for a few moments to dry (this acts as an invisible shield to protect applied makeup). Once applied correctly the product stays put all day and keeps makeup looking fresh, vibrant and 'just applied'.
The product is of paste consistency, skin coloured and drys to a soft power like finish. The product is also great for using under the eyes to keep concealer in place and blends amazingly with little effort. Priced at just over £10.00 for 7.5ml of product it is definitelyy worth shopping around for. However in comparison to other products i have used including Smashboxx and Benefit is by far the better product and feels that much better in quality.
The tube is white and comes complete in a small box, it is ideal for handbag use as comes with a screw lid meaning no unnecessaryy spillages!
Overall i would rate the Eye Fix 9/10 - 1 point deducted for price but hey you are buying quality! Elizabeth Arden at it's best
At last, an opinion based on nearly 30 years use! I have been buying this product since it was launched and it is truly my desert island makeup essential. I used to be a model and have learnt many different techniques of applying eye makeup in order to make it last. There are a number of products on the market, most of which I have tried and immediately discarded. The main problems is that they are too greasy, so thick that they pull the eyelid or have too much colour. Some people apply foundation as a base both with and without powder. This is not a bad method but most makeup will slide off the eye as it slides off the face and I've had real irritations with facepowder getting into my eyes! The beauty of eyfix is that is a light cream that leaves a very light film over the eyelid which is not greasy but seems to GRIP the powder. It doesn't pull the delicate skin on the eyelids and, as a contact lens wear with fairly sensitive eyes, it doesn't irritate my eyes in any way. About a minute after aplying it (that's being generous - for me it's in prime condition once I've done the second eye and got my eyeshadow appliances ready!). One of the best things about eyefix is that it allows fine blending, something that's difficult when foundation is used or it goes directly onto the lid. My eyeshadow looks as good at the end (and I do mean end) of the day as it looks in the morning - so much so that people have often commented on it. The secret is Eyefix. I have occasionally forgotten it when I travel and my shadow neither applies as easily nor lasts as long. So, if you want your eyeshadow to look professionally applied, and want it to last all day, Eyefix is the answer. It may seem a costly outlay but you can be confident of looking good all day.
