=Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Make-Up Remover=
I don't know about anyone else but I love waterproof mascara, but this is not always the easiest of items to remove, and a friend recommended that i try her garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Make Up Remover - which reminds me I never gave her the bottle back. I liked it so much I have brought some for myself.
I got my Garnier from Boots and paid £3 or a bottle
The bottle mentions that this is specially formulated for sensitive eyes and that it is opthalmogically tested. That it removes waterproof eye make up, and is suitable for normal to sensitive skin.
Among the ingredients it lists grape extract
I use the flat cotton wool pads and hold these to the top of the bottle, give it a little squeeze and clean the eyes, for hygiene I always use a clean pad for the 2nd eye.
I was pleased to say that my eyes had no after effects and that the waterproof mascara came away with no harsh rubbing.
My eyes felt refreshed when I had used the wipes.
=I did cheat=
Once I removed the waterproof elements, I tend to use a make up wipe, for the remainder of my face, but i do think that the garnier is excellent value for money.
=Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend the Garnier Eye make up remover, it is worth paying the extra for
I love dramatic eyeliner and statement lashes - and this usually means quite a lot of make up needing removing at the end of the night. Whilst I tend to use wet wipes for most of my face, I do like to use a specially designed product around my eyes, and the one I've been using most recently is Garnier Fresh Essentials, which costs around £3 in Boots.
I picked this one because I just really liked the look and sound of it - the bottle is green and fresh, very vibrant looking, and is clear so I can see just how much is, or isn't left. The bottle mentions that this is specially formulated for sensitive eyes, and that it is opthalmologically tested. It also states that it contains grape extract, removes even waterproof eye make-up, and that it is suitable for normal to sensitive skin.
I use this with the flat cotton wool pads, and give each pad a generous splosh of the thin liquid - I simply hold it to the top of the bottle, invert for a second, and then use it (a fresh pad for each eye, naturally). I did give it a quick sniff, and have to say although I could smell a very delicate crisp sweet smell, it wasn't really strong enough to identify it specifically as grape. But who cares, nobody ever got complimented on sweet smelling eye lids.
I usually wear primer, liner, shadow, and waterproof lengthening mascara on my eyes, so this had quite a job to do. The first thing I noticed was that this was very soothing on the eyes - cooling, and there was none of the tingling I normally get when I'm using something on the sensitive skin in that area. this seemed to remove the most of my eye makeup easily, but I did find that when I wore waterproof mascara, I did need to put a little extra effort into the scrubbing. I do feel that I managed to get thoroughly clean though, and my skin looked bright and fresh after using this. This caused no irritation to my skin at all, and actually I do feel that using this has improved my skin slightly, purely by dint of being able to get everything off properly.
At £3 it's not the cheapest eye make up remover out there, but I feel that with this product you're paying for a quality product that works, and works well. When you consider that a bottle of this can easily last a good three or four months, it's really not that expensive at all.
Overall, it's not the best I've tried, but it's one of them, and one I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.
I love nothing more that to wear a little bit of mascara when I go out of the house. I have those eyes that look quite poorly if your not wearing any make up. The only problem is the next day when I took my make up off with rubbish make up remover wipes to realise they didn't work and I would have black panda eyes.
I started getting frustrated with make up wipes so when I was in boots I hunted out some make up remover which wouldn't leave my face sticky or irritate my skin. I went for the Garnier fresh essentials eye make up remover which seemed like it would work well with some cotton wool pads.
I doused the pad with a little of the remover once it was time for bed, and started to rub my eyes to remove all of the mascara that was lurking on my eye lashes. I also use eye brow pencil daily due to a teenage obsession with plucking my eyebrows thin and now they have a funny growing back pattern.
It was so simple to remove and even the eyebrow pencil came off very easily. Straight away I noticed it hadn't left any stickiness behind and it dried very quickly. I still went and washed my face as I didn't want to be left with any of my pores being clogged with any of the remover.
The next day I did notice a slight amount of black under my eyes. I guess no matter how hard you try to get it all off, there is still some lurking in the background.
Even though this was probably down to my own fault, I did however feel it had done a much better job and my eyes weren't stinging from rubbing too hard like I have to do with the wipes.
I have tried the blue version too which is also great and has less of a scent than this one. Said to be enriched with grape extract, this green bottle has a slight scent of sweetness to it. The blue however is almost scentless. They are both very gentle to the skin and I had no problems using it at all.
It is available almost anywhere that sells beauty products. I've bought it from supermarkets, drug stores, discount store and other general shops.
Great product and I give it 5/5 stars.
Thanks for reading my review
Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Make-Up Remover is simply an eye make-up remover that I actually use for my whole face. It removes all my make up well and treats my skin kindly.
The liquid is clear which reassures you that this product is more about using ingredients that aren't going to damage your skin. It would be unnecessary for the product to be coloured.
This is actually quite a small bottle but it does last for quite a while so don't let that put you off. The bottle is a nice shape and has a convenient lid that easily controls how much liquid you're dispensing.
This is a good priced product and is easily found in a deal at Superdrug and worth buying at this point. However, the price is still reasonable without any discount!
There is no pigmentation from this product, thank goodness! It looks like water and can therefore have no nasty side effects by pigmenting your face a strange colour.
This has a very nice scent like all of the garnier grape products do. This product smells of grape and the scent is very fresh and clean. It makes the cleaning process nicer and really refreshing which is very nice after a long day.
Does what it says?:
Yes! It removes my waterproof mascara easily along with my foundation. I know it is an eye make up remover, but there is little difference for me and it works well. It also means that I don't have to waste any liquid that is still left on my cotton wool pad and allows me to thoroughly and quickly clean my eyes and face. As for being fresh, the scent enhances this. The product also feels, in no way, chemically at all. This is very nice as the skin feels replenished and thoroughly cleaned without feel stripped of its naturalness. The product does not have a drying effect on the skin. However, I definitely recommend following this step by washing your face and toning as it removes any final grime or make up that may still be clinging on. This will only be a small part as the product does work well!
Easy to remove:
It is very easy to remove this product from your face by washing or toning. Your face may feel slightly, and I mean slightly, sticky after use but this may be a combination of the product and your make up. The product is also very easy to use to remove make up. However, I have used another garnier make up remover which removes my waterproof mascara more easily. Yet that one is oily and I prefer the non oily feel of this one!
It is a handy and reasonably priced product that works well, smells great and can handle removing a lot of different makeup. It is definitely worth a try if you haven't found your go to make up remover as it can be found in deals and doesn't cost too much if your decide it doesn't suit your skin.
This eye make-up remover does the trick most of the time, especially for coloured eyeliners and eyeshadows. It doesn't seem to work so well for my Maybelline Great Lash mascara, but maybe that's just a heavy-duty mascara for you.
What I do like about this product is the fact that it feels quite free of chemicals, and is in fact meant to be mostly grape water. I like anything natural and the more water the better, so Garnier has done the right thing by avoiding that alcoholic, chemical feel that I've felt from some of their other products.
What I don't like about this product, is that it's really nothing special. When I buy things from the Body Shop I feel as though I've got my money's worth, and the product becomes an important part of my beauty regime. With this make-up remover, I feel as though I'm trying to use it as quickly as possible to have an excuse to buy a new one (not Garnier).
Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Make-Up Remover
*What is it?*
This is a eye make-up remover in Garnier's Fresh Essentials Grape Water range, it claims to gently remove all make up even waterproof. The formula has been enriched with grape water to help soothe and calm the delicate eye area.
*What Do I Think?*
I absolutely love this. Although I don't use mascara this lotion is still very effective at removing other make up around the eyes as much as eyeshadow, concealer, eyeliner and powder. I have not had any problems such as irritation or steam around the eyes think this, in fact my eyes feel more comforted and soothed after using this. This is very good for contact lens wearers and those who have sensitive eyes, and with the added benefit of a very refreshed feeling on the eyes and skin - a very good lotion to use in the morning to wake you up!
This lotion feels so good on the skin that I often use it all over my face. It is a very light clean solution leaving no residue greasy feel. The lotion does not contain any alcohol and does not dry out skin stop if anything, it seems to help the skin retain moisture. When applying this onto the skin, it feels as if you are drenching skin so it is a very good hydrating lotion. This
This also smells lovely, it is a very natural and authentic sweet grape aroma from this and it is very tempting to sit there with the possible and keep sniffing it! The scent is quite mild so even though it has a fabulous aroma you would not be too distracted when using it.
Originally, I bought it because it was new on the market and on promotion at just over £1 per 150 bottle. For what it is and what it does, this is very good value and it would be tempting to stock up on several bottles of this. Unfortunately now that the promotion is finished this costs £3. This, I think, is too much, leaving it is not very good value for just a small bottle of eye make-up remover. However, because it is so good, I would still probably choose to buy this.
This is definitely one of the best eye make-up remover is I've come across, it is now one of my favourites. Not only does it remove eye make up effectively, but gives more to the skin to make it look and feel better. It makes you feel as if you are really cleaning your face with pure grape water. Definitely one to try.
