      Very helpful

a great product to use around the eye area - but will cost!

In the old days (when I had money lol!) I used to buy these eye compresses quite regularly but now I save them for a real treat purely because of the price of them.

I was first introduced to the Gatineau range on QVC & have bought many products with varying results - some have been fantastic whilst others have been returned under their 30 day money back guarantee. One of the few products I'm pleased with though are these pads although the last time I bought them they cost £30 for 12 treatments. Usually found only in salons & offered as an expensive treatment it's possible to buy online or sometimes in John Lewis & are normally available on the QVC website - worth a look at consumers' 5 star ratings there?

Each sachet is as shown in the picture & need to be carefully cut open with scissors to avoid damaging the 2 pads inside & prevent any excess product from seeping out - you need to use every last bit for this price! The word 'compress' conjures up an image of pressure in my mind but these are thin crescent moon shaped white pads saturated with a marine-based collagen solution.

All you do is thoroughly cleanse around the eye area & place the pads under the eyes, lie down & relax until they start to dry & go firm (abour half an hour) & remove. I usually pop a little of the collagen over the eyelids & if there's any left on my fingers I usually dab onto the top of my lip & the bridge of my nose. If you re-seal the foil wrap there may be enough to use again if you cut up a fresh make up pad - I don't waste a drop!

Gatineau claim that these compresses 'temporarily reduce the appearance of dark shadows', 'plump out lines & smooth the look of crows feet' & 'help reduce puffiness' - well, I have to say it does all this plus it hydrates the delicate skin around the eyes.

Once the compresses are removed I always notice an immediate difference & I look less tired & refreshed. I've never experienced any discomfort when using these even though my eyes are quite sensitive & I'd definitely recommend trying them if you have puffy areas around the eyes or are worried about wrinkles etc.

Although a treatment gives only temporary results I've found that the effects last about 2 - 3 days so if you've special occasion coming up or just want to pamper yourself then these are well worth a try.

Not a cheap product but far less expensive than paying for Gatineau beauty treatments in a salon & these work brilliantly for my often tired-looking, wrinkly, puffy eye areas.
