The Super Aqua Eye Serum has been created by Guerlain and it is a moisturising serum for the eye area. It promises to plump, volumise and smooth out the skin around the eye using natural ingredients. As well as this, it promises to get rid of dark circles, reduce puffiness and banish fine lines. The results are said to be long lasting rather than a quick fix so I could hardly leave this little beauty on the shelf.
How does it work? The product contains fragments of Hyaluronic Acid which is able to retain around 1,000 its own volume in water. As the molecules swell, they plump up the skin, reducing fine lines and leaving it looking smoother and younger.
How do you use the product?
The product can be used morning and night on skin that has been cleansed. One pump of the product is enough for one eye. The product needs to be dispensed onto your finger and patted in to the skin beneath, above and to the outside of the eye. It must be patted in and not rubbed as the skin there is very delicate and this can cause wrinkles. Once it has been absorbed, you can apply your moisturiser and make up as usual.
Packaging and Price
The packaging of this product is very pretty and expensive looking. The bottle is a blue glass jar and it is partly see through so you can actually see the outline of the serum inside. The product has a metallic pump dispenser and this is protected by a plastic lid. There is some golden writing on the bottle.
This product is by no means cheap but that's what you would expect from a Guerlain creation. I got mine from John Lewis and it set me back around £50 for 15ml. This is a lot of money for a small amount but as I am using it on the small eye area instead of the whole face, I can't see it running it out too quickly.
Appearance and Aroma
The product doesn't look like the usual clear gel that you would expect from a serum. It has a pure milky white colour and more of a liquid consistency that a gel. It is fairly runny so you need to work quite quickly with the product so that none goes to waste. The smell is faint but there is a floral aroma that is pleasant and not strong enough to put anyone off this product.
The product is easy to use and one pump is enough for one eye. The liquid is quite runny but it's simple enough to pat it into the skin. On the skin, it feels light but rich at the time which is a weird sensation.
As long as you don't use too much, it is comfortable on the skin and not greasy at all. It doesn't leave a sheen behind so once it has been absorbed, no one would see that you are using the product. It doesn't sting or irritate my sensitive eye area so the serum must be very gentle.
The product is very moisturising and leaves my skin feeling lovely, soft and silky. I don't think it does much for dark circle but it does plump up the skin which means that fine lines look less obvious and my skin looks a little firmer. Because of this I also think it acts as quite a good primer before applying my make up.
It stops my skin from feeling dry and the area looks healthy and moisturised for hours. It hasn't caused any blemishes or irritations on my sensitive skin. I have found the results to be immediate but only long lasting if you continue to use the actual product.
All in all, this is a really good product but not one that I'll remain faithful to because of the price. It delivers on nearly all of its promises and I will continue to use the product daily but once it has run out, I will probably have to find a cheaper replacement until I win the lottery.
Some of you may have heard me say previously that at Christmas I was given a big luxury make-up pack / self care package for Christmas from my generous partner and children - and lovely it was too! One of the items in this pack was Guerlain Super Aqua Eye Serum. I don't know exactly how much they paid for it, but I have seen it online for around £50 on Amazon - and so it is most definitely at the more expensive end of the skin care range. I'm not sure whether I would be prepared to spend this amount on an eye care product generally - but if it is a present, I am very willing to accept it!
The Guerlain Super Aqua Eye Serum comes in a stylish but non-descript bottle, which is typical for Guerlain products. Originally it was in a small box which had a leaflet inside which had list of all the ingredients contained and advice on application of the serum. The concept of this product, as the product information tells me, is to "hydrate, revitalise and smooth the most sensitive areas of the face" with the idea of smoothing the skin and keeping wrinkles (ahhh the dreaded inevitable wrinkles!) to a minimum.
I generally apply the serum morning and night - and, to be honest, you only need a tiny amount as its only going around the eye area and it only needs to be spread thinly. When spreading it on, I have to say, it feels absolutely gorgeous....velvety, smooth and luxurious. I tend to pat it on rather than rub it in, and even by patting it in, the serum is absorbed very quickly and very well. I think this shows just how much this area around my eyes needs hydrating!
Having put the serum on, my skin around my eyes really does feel so much better hydrated and the smoothing effects are instant. I really don't exactly know how it works, but I do know that the laughter lines under my eyes disappear - and stay disappeared for around 8 hours. Its incredibly impressive and by far the best lotion, serum, moisuriser, treatment....whatever you want to call it....that I have come across EVER!
I really can't recommend this serum enough. The only downside is that it is so expensive - and I just don't think I could justify the cost of spending £50 every month or so to rid me of my laughter lines.....but I may change my mind on that!
I am fast approaching the big 50 and to be honest it scares me, people say that 50 is the new 40 but when it's your turn to approach 50 you begin to see the tell tale signs of ageing.
I don't drink or smoke and people usually looked shocked when I tell them my age as they guess I am around 35-37 and I put this down to not wearing make-up or using beauty products when I was younger. As over time chemicals age the face.
I have just started to use make-up and beauty products reguarly and because I don't drink or smoke I think I am entitled to spend a little extra on these things and Guerlain is one of my favourite products to buy.
Although it is expensive I do think I am worth it.
Guerlain Super Aqua Eye Serum costs £55.00 and can be bought on Amazon and from other online web sites as well as at John Lewis and Debenhams. I found it online for £46.75 which I thought was a good bargain to pay for this wonder serum.
I sometimes wake up with puffy eyes and have just begun to see a few little laughter lines at the corners of my eyes which I just know will get more prominent the older I get, so to help reduce the appearance of them I am using this eye serum.
Guerlain Super Aqua Eye Serum comes in a lovely Aqua blue bottle with a silver lid, it says it is the ultimate treatment for the eye zones and used daily can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and intensely hydrate, revitalise and smooth the most sensitive area of the face.
You only need a small amount of this serum and it helps to moisturise the areas around the eyes. It has a source of active molecules inspired by the sap of the blue atlas cedar which is said to moisurise and keep the skin supple and soft.
On applying the serum you can feel it sinking into the skin quite fast, it's like the skin drinks it up. Within seconds you can feel the difference from the before and after using this.
The skin around the eyes looks plumped up and feels really soft. It feels like there is instant results and looking in the mirror will show the skin has a slight glow to it and looks in better condition than before using.
This creamy serum with a unique texture helps to thoroughly hydrate and revitalise the skin on your face, minimizing wrinkles and fine lines to restore the beauty of youthful looking skin.
It contains the extracts of the desert rose flower and when it's applied to the skin, this natural ingredient from the desert rose flower helps form an invisible barrier on the skin's surface, keeping water in and protects your skin from environmental aggressors.
You can apply the serum morning and evening and use it as part of your daily skincare routine underneath day or night creams. Although it is expensive it is worth every penny of the cost of a bottle as you only need a small amount and it really does work.
I like a product where you can visibly see the results, so would recommend this to you.
