I must admit something now ... I often use make up wipes in order to remove my make up... I know, I know, it pulls on your delicate eye skin area, it's not very purifying for your skin etc; but I wear quite a bit of eye make up, including waterproof mascara, so the wipes help to remove the make up without irritating my eyes. I've always thought that you needed to scrub in order to get the make up off... how wrong was I!
I saw the L'Oreal eye make up remover reviewed on some blogs about how good it was, so when I saw that Superdrug were doing a 2 for £5 offer, I stocked up! (I thought if it's as good as they say, I'll definitely want at least two of them!)
It is really effective! Just pop some on a cotton pad (I find them easier to use than cotton balls), hold it over your eye for a brief time and wipe away. It really breaks down the make up and removes it quickly and easily.
I have normal skin, but it can make my skin feel really soft but a little bit oily if I use too much. So for anyone who has oily skin, you may want to avoid this and try one of the other 'water eye make up removers' on the market.
The only downside that I have found is the bottle shape, it's quite a wide bottle. When you attempt to pour it onto a cotton pad, the watery liquid flies out and goes down your hand, which can waste a fair bit of product if you are not careful! I am new to it though, so it may just take a bit of practice getting used to it, but so far I've not got the knack of it!
L'Oreal Gentle Eye make-up Remover Pro vitamin formula
Claims: Gently and effectively removes make-up
Packaging: Triangular rectangular shaped rigid plastic container with a non-tamper strip, the container is recyclable
Despite their dodgy ethical status, L'Oreal is one of my favourite brands when browsing the make-up and skin care isles. It is no surprise then that I decided to try this product a couple of years ago when it was on a 2-1 offer at Superdrug. Before continuing I need to explain a little about my requirements for an eye make-up removal product. I need a product that is kind to my sensitive skin, will not cause offence to my ultra- sensitive eyes whilst at the same time effectively removing waterproof mascara. I care about my skin and aim to look after it well. I always remove make-up at night and moisturise before going to sleep. Also my budget is tight following a cut in working hours due to ill health. Therefore I demand a lot from my eye make-up remover product. The L'Oreal Gentle Eye Make-up remover is one of the best budget products I have tried.
The pale blue coloured bottle is chunky in the hand, but easy to hold, the flip top lid features a spigot that seals the small opening. The whole lid structure is of hard durable plastic featuring the L'Oreal logo on the top. To use remove the tamper proof strip and open the hinged lid, apply a little onto your preferred removal medium, I use cotton wool and sweep over the eye area, I find that I use a piece of cotton wool that is about 2cm round, for each eye and find this a most satisfactory method. I sweep over once removing eye shadow and loosening the eye liner and mascara, turn over the cotton wool piece and squirt a little more product on and sweep down over my top lashes, gently smooth along my eye line and repeat at least once. For a lot of mascara after a night out for example I may need to repeat this a few times, but for usual daily make-up once or twice is adequate to remove the make-up. Repeat with a fresh applicator for the other eye. I find L'Oreal gentle eye make-up remover is comfortable to use and fairly quick and easy. It has not ever upset my sensitive eyes or irritated my skin. It does sometimes require a little more effort for stronger waterproof make-up, but all in all I am pleased and it is one of my favourite products. Wipes clean away and always leaves my eye lashes in great condition and because there is no need to rub, my sensitive eye area skin is always left comfortable and ready for moisturiser.
The fragrance is subtle, with hints of maybe witch hazel and subtle floral undertones.
What I like about it:
Good for my combination of sensitive eyes and waterproof mascara
What I don't like:
Sometimes requires several applications to completely remove some mascara's
Anyone and everyone, especially with sensitive skin and/or eyes
This would not be an ideal product for stage make-up that requires a more rugged removal system
Great budget buy for sensitive eyes
Price and Availability: Usual price is £3.49 from Superdrug at the time of writing they have it on offer at just £1.74. Available from all good chemists and pharmacies, supermarkets and on-line form Superdrug and other outlets.
6 months on and I'm preferrng Garnier.
The eye make up remover that I'm currently using is the L'Oreal gentle eye make up remover. I used to use this eye make up remover all the time a few years ago. I can't remember why I stopped using it now, but when I spotted it on offer in Boots recently I decided to give it another go.
Most of the L'Oreal skincare items were a third off in Boots. The gentle eye make up remover was priced at £1.99, from £2.99 normally. It's a 125ml bottle.
I wear contact lenses and so I always look for an eye make up remover that is Ophthalmologist tested, safe for contact lens wearers and suitable for sensitive eyes. Which this one is. I wear my contact lenses most of the time, and you are supposed to actually take your contact lenses out before you take your make up off, I don't do this because then I can't actually see what I'm doing! So I always leave my contact lenses in until I've taken my make up off to ensure that it is all removed and that I don't have panda eyes in the morning! I have had problems in the past with some eye make up removers that have stung my eyes, but I've had no problems at all with this eye make up remover, it doesn't sting my eyes even if I accidentally get a small amount in my eye, and it's not damaged my contact lenses at all.
This is a liquid formula eye make up remover, and the liquid feels really fresh and cooling on my eyes when I take my eye make up off. I'm keeping it in the fridge at the moment at it's been so hot recently, and the fridge cold liquid really does seem to soothe and cool my tired eyes at the end of the day.
To use this I squeeze a small amount onto a cotton pad, I then find it best to hold the liquid filled cotton pad on my eye for a few seconds to 'dissolve' my make up and then just gently wipe it off. There's no need to rub or scrub at my eyes using the the eye make up remover this way i.e. holding it on to 'dissolve' my eye make up, and it works really quickly. It takes off all traces of my eye make up, including mascara and dark heavy liner or eyeshadow very easily. It doesn't take off waterproof mascara, but then again it doesn't claim to either.
If I haven't had much eye make up on then I use one liquid filled cotton pad for each eye. If I've had a lot of dark or heavy eye make up on then I will need to use two liquid filled cotton pads for each eye to thoroughly remove all of the dark eye make up. I always follow this up with my regular wash off cleanser to remove the make up from the rest of my face.
This eye make up remover is really gentle and soothing on my eyes, yet it very effectively and thoroughly removes every last trace of my eye make up, including mascara and dark heavy liner or eyeshadow. It doesn't leave behind an oily residue or film at all. It is really very soothing and silky, it doesn't sting or irritate my eyes at all, and also it doesn't dry the delicate skin around my eyes out.
I suppose that my only issue is that I do need to use more of this make up remover than with a lot of the more expensive brands that I normally use. Not a lot more, but enough to be noticeable. I think that while it's still priced at £1.99 then I'll probably stock up with a few more bottles as it works very well and I don't mind having to use a bit more of it while it's priced so low.
Amount - 125ml
Product Bottle Description - Enriched with Pro Vitamin, gently yet thoroughly removes eye make up. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
I recently ran out of my favourite make up remover wipes and when in the beauty isle, I picked up this product and thought I would give it a try instead.
The packaging is simple, but sleek at the same time. It comes in a small bottle which looks like a slim oval shape when looked at from above. It has a shiny white coloured cap, which flips up and clips back down into place. I like the fastening on this product actually, it seems very secure so I don't have t worry about leakages when I am storing it. The bottom of the bottle is made from a transparent blue plastic, so although the actual product has no colour (it just looks like water) you can see how much is remaining easily in the container. I find this handy for knowing when I need to re-purchase my beauty items.
I mainly use this product in the evening, when I am taking off my make-up from the day, but I have used it to gently cleanse my whole face before moisturising in the morning and I find it works great for that too. To use this, I soak a cotton pad with the liquid and gently wipe over my eyes with it.
HANDY TIP : When I am wearing waterproof mascara, this can sometimes be a massive pain to remove, so I soak the cotton pad like normal, but then I place it over my eye area and hold it there for 15 seconds before starting to wipe. I find that this helps give the product a chance to dissolve some of the mascara before you have to start tugging on your eyelid too much and it seems to come away a lot more easily once I have done this.
My opinion - I actually really like this product and the way it works. It smells very fresh and removes make up very well. I am not left with any residue on my face either, so I don't feel the need to rinse my skin after, and my eye area is never tacky, which I sometimes find can happen with other make up removers I have used. I have sensitive eyes and I don't have any irritation issues with this either. The price was around the £2.00 mark as I picked this up in a discount store and I think this is good value, even if I do use the product up quite quickly.
This product is perfect for removing eye make up and does what it says on the tin.
Can't go wrong with that, can you?
I am the worst person ever at keeping up with a skin care routine but regularly think I will and buy the products and then within a couple of weeks forget again.
It was on one of these spending sprees that I first saw this product. I wear make up every day, not too much just enough to hide the bags under my eyes and make myself look presentable ha!
I wanted to buy a product that would remove my eye shadow, eye liner and mascara well before I cleansed my face and used a toner. I saw this in Boots and decided to give it a go.
I have quite sensitive skin so this sounded perfect for me, also the L'Oreal brand is good and well known so I assumed the product would be good quality too. The product came in a little blue bottle which had 125ml of remover in it.
I began to use the product that night. When you pour it onto the cotton wool you can smell it, it has a nice feminine scent to it. It is very runny just like water really.
When I used it I found that it really did its job well. It removed all my make up without too much difficulty, it left my skin feeling very refreshed and clean which I really liked.
I found that it has so far removed all the make up I wear including water proof mascara. My skin was not affected by using it as it sometimes can be due to its sensitivity. I use it every night (well when I remember) and the bottle has lasted me ages so far so its definitely good value for money.
I would recommend this product to anyone that wants a good value make up remover.
I am a dancer so I very often use very heavy eye make-up. However, my eyes are extremely sensitive to products which was why I started to look for a special make-up remover for the eyes which was gentle enough.
L'Oreal's Gentle eye make-up remover comes in a nice blue bottle with a lid that you can flip open, so it is easy to get the contents out of the bottle. There is a very very mild scent - almost inexistent which is good as I dislike strong smelling products.
I usually apply the remover onto a cotton pad and then attempt to rub above and below my eyes in order to remove eye liner, mascara and eye shadow. The first time I used this product, I was thoroughly (and pleasantly) surprised by how the remover did not make my eyes sting at all. However, it always takes me a couple of applications before I can remove maybe about 80% of my eye make up, so I usually wake up the next day and repeat the process so that I won't go around with smudges all around my eyes the next day.
For now, till I find a more effective eye make-up remover, I am quite satisfied with the gentleness of this.
Being a contact lense wearer I do find when it comes to eye make up removing products some can actually cause more harm than good. I have tried several removers which have caused my eyes to sting and to go red which is obviously not great. Despite their being quite a lot of brands on the market which make eye make up removers the majority are not suited for contact lense wearers which is a shame but then you can always take them out and then remove your make up! A few months ago I really needed a new eye make up remover as I had simply stuck with wipes and they weren't removing my mascara effectively so I did a little digging.
The result of my research was finding an eye make up remover for both sensitive eyes and for those that wear contact lenses. As a current sufferer of hayfever my eyes are even more sensitive than what they normally are so I thought this was absolutely ideal to try. I'm quite confident when it comes to L'Oreal products as they are generally decent products which in my opinion are worth the money. I managed to buy my bottle of L'Oreal Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover from Morrisons for the small amount of just £2.00 as it was reduced. Hopefully it was going to be a bargain!
L'Oreal have branded this gentle enough for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers due to its gentle formula. The eye make-up remover comes in a clear plastic bottle which has a white plastic flip top cap. On the back of the bottle there is the ingredients list as well as what the product is for and how to use it. On the front there is the L'Oreal font logo together with the product name. As the bottle is completely see through you can easily see the colour of the liquid which is a lovely blue colour. The bottle contains 125ml which I think is a decent size amount. The eye make-up remover is as thin as water in consistency and has hardly no fragrance at all, there may be a slightly gentle aroma but it is incredibly subtle.
The eye make-up remover is incredibly easy to use, you simply pour the liquid onto a cotton wool pad. You can of course use cotton wool pleats or balls but I find the large oval pads the easiest to use. The eye make-up remover doesn't come freely out of the bottle so you do need to gently squeeze the bottle for it to come out onto the cotton wool pad. However, the trick is not squeezing the bottle too much as you will end up soaking the cotton wool and will have just far too much excess liquid which is just a waste. Ideally you want the cotton wool pad to be damp with just enough to be able to wipe across the eye area. Once that has been mastered you simply need to wipe it across your eye several times (I use the same cotton wool pad for just one eye) until the mascara, eye shadow, liner etc has been completely removed.
When I first used this eye make-up remover I did of course squeeze out too much and despite using it I had the eye make-up remover running down my hand and my face! However, the next time I managed to get it right and I have to say the feeling of it was so refreshing on my eyes it was lovely and definitely gave a little relief especially with having hayfever. This cuts through my mascara (which is also L'Oreal) without any problems whatsoever which is ideal as I've had wipes which can't remove it properly but this does it with no issues and doesn't leave any little black specks behind. I only use one cotton cool pad for each eye and I find that this is perfectly adequate to remove the eye make up.
Since using it I haven't had any problems with it causing any irritation or discomfort to my eyes whatsoever. It provides a refreshing feeling on the eyes and not to mention it clears all make up with ease. For the bargain price of £2.00 this is wonderful and I have been back to Morrisons to stock up as this really suits me being a contact lens wearer. It doesn't dry out the skin around the eyes either instead it helps keeping the skin healthy and bright which is obviously just what we all need! I can't recommend this highly enough. Because you don't need to use a lot at any one time the 125ml bottle will hopefully last for quite a while. A definite recommendation from me and I would give it 5 green stars!

This is a gentle eye make-up remover which can be used on sensitive eyes and for contact lens wearers. This is by L'Oreal and is a high quality product which works well for me.
This comes in a 125ml plastic bottle. The bottle is a pale blue colour as shown in the picture. There is a flip lid which means there are no spills, under the lid there is a small hole which makes it easy for you to apply onto cotton wool to use.
Where to buy
I have seen this product in a number of places
-Supermarkets such as Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda
-Boots - £2.75 for 125ml
-Superdrug - £2.74 for 125ml
As with many products like this it is often on offer which is worth looking out for.
I use this product every night to remove my eye make-up, to use I apply to a cotton pad. I find it works better if you hold the cotton pad on your eye for a few seconds as this removes make-up easier and does not cause the skin on your eyes to drag. I continue to do this until there is no eye make-up left.
My personal experience
I have used a number of eye make-up removers and have never really had one which i always use. I wear eye make up every day and sometimes it can be quite heavy but this is not a problem as this eye make-up remover removes it all! In the past i have used eye make-up removers which make my eyes look like all my mascara has gone yet I wake up with it under my eyes, I have never had this problem with the product. My eyes are quite sensitive so any product which is too harsh will sting and cause problems but this is so gentle and causes no problems at all.In the past I had never found one eye make-up remover which I felt loyal to but I will never be without this product again.
~An easy way to remove your make up~
Amongst the range of products by L'Oréal that I have tried is the Gentle Eye Make Up Remover which can be used to take off your eye make up with the minimum of fuss. I have found that this little bottle of L'Oréal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover can be used to take off eye shadows, eye liners (whether in pencil or liquid liner form) including glitter eyeliners as well as some of the more stubborn waterproof mascaras that are on sale with relative ease. As the blurb on the L'Oréal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover bottle stated it was a very gentle product that had been formulated so as not to cause any irritation when in use, I felt confident about purchasing it when faced with an array of competing eye make up remover products.
When I used the L'Oréal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover I found that the product itself was easy to use with a light pleasant smelling fragrance that wasn't too over powering, with an equally light feel which didn't leave any oily residue around my eye area. The bottle that the L'Oréal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover comes in is formed out of a misted see through plastic material that is flexible enough to allow you to squeeze out the last few drops of make up remover when the contents is nearly finished and is strong enough to sit well in your bathroom cabinet without it falling over or becoming knocked out of shape and spilling the contents every where.
The lid of the L'Oréal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover bottle is an easy to use flip style one that closes down over the top of the bottle with ease. As with most of the other skin care items I have tried from the same range it has a slim gold seal within a sticky clear plastic piece which is stuck to the front side of the lid. This slim gold seal is there so as to make sure that your bottle of L'Oréal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover has not been opened before you get it home and I feel that this is a good idea in principle as it should mean the seal remains intact, although I have found that unlike the other seals on other products in the range, this one can be compromised without breaking it which means it is less effective.
~Ease of use and results~
L'Oréal say that their Gentle Eye Make Up Remover has a 'refreshing and gentle formula, suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers and combines make-up removal with softness'. I would agree that the product has a nice light and fresh feel to it that left my skin feeling soft and clean with no redness or ill effects when I used it sparingly. The feel of the L'Oréal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover is not at all oily and although it is quite a watery looking product it can be used on a fresh cotton wool based cleansing pad in small amounts, with very little waste as you can squeeze out as much or as little as you need from the bottle it comes in.
The L'Oréal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover has a lightly coloured aqua colour to it, which doesn't stain the skin at all when in use and I found that the formula used in this product seemed to be very gentle on my skin and didn't cause any drying effects or redness when I used it to remove make up which was pleasing. L'Oréal say that their Gentle Eye Make Up Remover is enriched with Pro Vitamins although I have no idea why they are there so I cannot say for sure what effects if any they had on my skin when I used the product.
I felt that the fragrance that the L'Oréal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover seemed to have was very light and reminded me of a watered down Johnsons Baby Shampoo type scent, which I rather liked in an odd way. Once the product was applied via a cotton wool pad the baby shampoo scent wasn't very strong at all and soon went so there was no stinging of my eyes caused by any eye wateringly strong smells that came from this once it was in use. I found that I was able to use the product without having to rub it to get my eye make up off which meant that once I had finished using it my skin looked clean and fresh.
~Price and rating~
L'Oréal say that this Gentle Eye Make Up Remover is suitable for contact lens wearers and those with sensitive eyes as it has been tested for use in such situations and whilst I cannot vouch for the contact lens part of that statement I can say it seemed very gentle in use. The directions for use say that all you need to do is use a clean cotton wool pad to wipe away make up that you want to remove which is what I did, repeating the process until the area is clean and make up free. I found using the product as directed was easy to do and took no more than a few minutes from start to finish.
The cost of my bottle of L'Oréal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover was £2.74 which I felt was good value at the time and compared well with other similar products. The bottle which the L'Oréal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover came in contained 125 mls of the product which was more than enough to last for a number of weeks although I didn't use it on a daily basis so this may have made it seem like it lasted longer than it otherwise might have done. As I was pleased with the results that the L'Oréal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover gave when I used it I feel that it is something I would use again in future and as such I want to give it a 4 star rating.
I have recently started wearing make-up regularly. Even though it is not heavy - just a bit of mascara, eyeliner and blush, I felt like my standard toner was not enough and that I had to get a special eye make up remover. Whilst visiting Boots, I decided to choose L'oreal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover. Even though it was not the most expensive option, I find (or maybe found) L'oreal a reliable brand. Unfortunately, this time it was a bit of a disappointment.
It comes in plastic, pale blue bottle with a flip lid at the top. The bottle contains 125 ml of the remover which lasted me about two months of every day use. The bottle has a fairly plain but pleasant design.
I really like the smell of it - it is very mild, subtle and feminine but does not remind me of anything in particular. Its texture is very runny - it is simply as runny as water.
I decided to go for this gentle make up remover because I wear contact lenses so it seems to me that my eyes are more sensitive. Gladly, this make up remover did not cause any irritation to my eyes so in this sense it works perfectly well.
It is very refreshing and extremely pleasant to use. It does not leave a weird after-feeling like some make up removers do. And this is when it gets worse.
I usually spread some of it on a cotton pad. Unfortunately, this bottle (and especially the lid) is a bit inconvenient to use: sometimes I spill too much on my cotton pad, sometimes not enough and I am convinced it's not because of my clumsiness, the reason is the design.
As L'oreal promise, this make up remover is gentle. I would go one step further: this is too gentle. It removes my eyeshadow, and mascara (only if I rub it which is not very pleasant and in the longer run may cause wrinkles). It does not remove shimmery eyeshadows very well, and it does not remove waterproof mascara at all! I tried using different amounts, rubbing it and it only manage to copy with my mild, not very good quality make up cosmetics. I found it very disappointing and I am not going to be it again. I was really glad once I finished my bottle (I don't like throwing things away so most of the times I would just use them). One bottle costs around £3.00 and can be found in Boots and most of the supermarkets but I am not going to buy it again.
Thank you for reading my review.
It may also be posted elsewhere.
This is a gentle eye make up remover that I personally think works very well.
It is a pale blue liquid and doesn't particularly have any fragrance to it. It comes in a 125ml bottle and has a flip top lid. I sometimes find the lid a bit difficult to open and close. This product costs around £2.50 depending on where you buy it from.
I pour the liquid onto a cotton pad so that it soaks through the cotton pad. It is very soothing on the eyes and is nice to place over the eyes for a few minutes first. I then rub around my eyes and it removes my mascara, eye liner and eye shadow very effectively. I very rarely use water proof mascara but I have found that this doesn't really remove that effectively, but normal eye make up is fine.
The liquid feels quite 'greasy' but this soon sinks into my skin and I find it quite moisturising. It doesn't leave your eyes feeling sticky, in fact I would say it leaves your eyes feeling refreshed.
I have had no problems with my eyes whilst using this eye make up remover and have never suffered any reaction.
I do think that it is quite expensive because you do have to use quite a fair amount for it to be effective. Using it every night I would say it lasts a month. For that reason I use this as a 'luxury' product and only buy it occasionally now. I buy a cheaper alternative, but look forward to treating myself to this because it is so much kinder to my eyes and skin, and it removes the make up much more effectively.
I would recommend to anyone who isn't on a tight budget.
L'oreal Eye-Make-up Remover
What is it?
An eye-make-up remover by L'Oreal.
Designed specifically to reove eye make-up, suitable for sensitive eyes and has been tested under ophthalmological control. Also enriched with pro-vitamin.
What do I think?
This is eye-make remover is ok, but I think it does exactly what is says, and is very gentle - in some ways probably too gentle, in that it only removes half the make-up that it should. I don't really wear heavy eye make-up and even then I still find that I have to use a lot of this before all the make-up is removed completely. Therefore, gentle as it is, it is also gentle toward the make-up. Therefore this formula isn't really very effective and I don't even have to try it with my mascara on, as I already know that I will probably use up half a bottle of this before it is all completely removed.
When the formula is applied, it's a bit 'foamy' and 'wet', it does take some time to dry out but once it does, there is no sticky residue left over. It seems very moisturising to skin and doesn't sting the eyes and besides the fact that it isn't very quick at removing make-up, I have had no other problems around the eye area when using this.
It's quite a small bottle, only 125ml, and costs about £2.99. I managed to buy this at £1.17 when it was on promotion, which I think is much better value, and since you end up using twice as much to remove the same amount of make-up, I would only ever buy this again if it was at the promotional price.
It's a nice gentle formula, but not economical to use if you usually wear heavy eye make-up.
Thanks for reading.

After previously trying and reviewing Johnson's 3 in 1 eye make up remover on here (please read if you have not done so already). I am now pleased to be able to review another, in my opinion better liquid for the job.
I was going to get the Johnson's one again but spotted L'Oreal's offering in Body Care for only £2.60 so I thought I would try it instead.
The bottle is transparent blue and looks over all more sturdy than the Johnson's one, as the lid closes better. One thing that I think is a huge advantage for this remover is the design of the lid and opening. You open the flip lid and the tiny hole which the liquid comes out of is set in a bit of a well, this is the perfect size to place a cotton bud into, for easy cleaning up of eyeliner and stray mascara as you apply.
Even though this remover is described as gentle, it very easily removes the majority of mascara and eyeliner in one sweep without having to rub hard, and for the record, I wear a lot of mascara. Obviously it takes up to 2 cotton pads to clean the eye area properly but the first wipe does a very good job!
I think I will stick to this product in future as it is working really well for me and is available in bargain shops like Body Care.
In comparison to the Johnson's one, I did like that theirs offered conditioning for your lashes but it felt a little greasy. I think I prefer less conditioner and a better working product.
I'm not loyal to any particular brand when it comes to eye make up remover. I've never really been impressed by any of them as I still end up with some smudges in the morning under my eye when I get up. This product I find is the same.
It says it is for sensitive eyes and suitable for contact lens wearers. I'm sure that this is the case. When I sweep across my eyes it feels nice and cool and the liquid is just like water and does not make my skin tingle or anything bad. It just feels cool and therefore quite refreshing. It takes a number of sweeps across my eyes to get the eye make up off but seems to remove most of it. However in the morning I get up and I still have smudges under my eyes from the make up that it has not totally removed. I have tried rubbing harder to remove it totally but then my eyes get sore and also not sure that I want to be rubbing the delicate eye area too much.
The bottle is 125ml and this lasts ages, and I would buy it again however only when it is on offer as don't find this product any different to most of the others on supermarket shelves.
I have used this eye make up remover for at least a couple of years now. It says it is gentle and is good for sensitive eyes and I would certainly agree that that is the case.
The cost is normally in the region of £2 for £125ml - I say in the region of because the price varies greatly between different shops, Superdrug is where I normally find it cheapest and it is usually just under £2 from there.
It claims to be a 'non-irritant' formula which is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lense wearers, as a contact lense wearer myself I can confirm that I have used this stuff whilst wearning my lenses and it has indeed caused me no problems.
It doesn't sting or feel harsh on the skin around your eyes or leave any greasy residue, which is nice.
I was going to only give this 4 stars and the reason was that it usually takes a couple of cotton pads soaked with this to remove make up from each eye, i.e. I find I have to repeat the application twice before all traces of eye make up are removed. However, I have since reasoned with myself that as this is 'gentle' the only way to make it more effective would be to make it less gentle and more harsh, thus defeating it's object!
So, it does exactly what it says it does on the bottle and if you are a contact lense wearer or are particularly sensitive to things then having to wipe each eye a few times is a small price to pay.
L'Oreal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover; enriched with Pro-Vitamin gently and effectively removes eye make-up / Its refreshing formula is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
