I've developed quite an expensive taste in make up over the past five or so years. When I was a teenager my motto seemed to be "the cheaper the better" but I've since come to equate that with poor quality make up and spots - hardly a combination that any of us want to sport really! My favourite brand at the moment is Mac make up which is stocked in larger department stores such as Debenhams and Selfridges stores. My latest acquisition is Mac's Pro Eye Make Up Remover which cost me £13.50 for 100ml which is extremely expensive in terms of eye make up removers that you find on the shelves of a supermarket... this seems to be the main downside to my revelation that cheap make up was not the way forward!
The Pro Eye Make Up remover comes in a clear plastic bottle which has a black screw on lid. The brand name and product name are shown in a black font on the front of the bottle. Overall the packaging is quite plain but it does have a certain air of classiness about it and it's very typical of the brand in general. The actual eye make up remover is a light purple colour which obviously shows through the bottle and it has a typical remover smell - slightly acidic and not really overly fragrant at all. It's advertised as lifting off every look, from the most delicate to the most dramatic and promises to leave you smudge free as well. It also offers to be gentle on your skin while calms, hydrating and soothing your skin too.
I tend to tip the bottle upside down on a cotton wool pad and then gently wipe it over my eyes in even strokes. I find it takes about three strokes to completely remove all my mascara and eye shadow which is much quicker than other removers I've used. It also leaves me smudge free as there's nothing worse than taking off your eye make up, only to still have black smudges around them when I wash my face after. My skin is left feeling hydrated and soft, there's no tightening which I've experienced with some products, and the remover causes no irritation whatsoever. I'm giving this four stars, sadly it looses one based on the fact that it is expensive but I would fully recommend it due to the fact it does a perfect job!
