I am not particularly loyal to one brand of eye cream and like to have a change from time to time and will buy whatever takes my fancy and also what is on offer at the time. I recently bought this Nivea Visage Natural Beauty Radiance Boosting Eye Cream from Boots for £4.49 This cream is designed to un-crease the skin around the eye area and leave your skin feeling firmer and looking smoother.
The tube is only 15ml and it is pink in colour and soft and squeezy to the touch. It has a small pink screw top lid with a thin nozzle where the cream comes out and as it is narrow it is easy to direct and apply the cream to the desired areas so there is no waste.
I will use this cream before I go to bed after cleaning and toning but before applying my moisturiser or night cream as I find I get the best results this way. I will dab a few dots of the cream underneath my eyes and then very gently rub it in using small sweeping movements towards the outside of my eyes. Your skin is very delicate in this area so you should try not to rub too hard or for too long. The cream is quite thick so it stays on my face until I rub it in and it doesn't run. It has a light fresh smell but this is only very mild and delicate and you can only smell it when you first squeeze it out as it fades when you apply it to your skin.
It absorbs nicely into my skin and doesn't leave it looking greasy or shiny at all. This is the first time I have used this product but similar sized brands I have used will probably last me for around three months. I have noticed that the area around my eyes looks brighter and my skin appears to be smooth and firm. I would not say that this cream is better than others I have used but as my skin looks as firm as it did before this cream is working just as well as more expensive brands.
Very often, the amount of time between my alarm clock going off and me having to leave the house is small. I am always looking for a quick pick me up in the mornings that will make me look more awake and refreshed. Sometimes rushed make up can look heavy on the skin and end up making you look worse than you did before, especially when applying it through bleary eyes.
I first came into contact with the Natural Beauty range by Nivea when I received a free sample of the Natural Beauty Radiance Boosting Eye Cream in my magazine. The purpose of the collection is to enhance your complexion and illuminate your skin with a natural radiance, without the need for make up and this particular product works on the eye area. I really wasn't expecting the results to be as good as they were.
The product promised to give me a more radiant and even complexion which would make me look more awake without having to resort to make up. It claims to perform the same job as an under eye concealer, except this covers up dark shadows by reflecting the light and gives a more natural appearance.
How does it work?
The product contains a lot of natural and exotic ingredients. It contains Mango Milk which conditions and smoothes the skin around the eye area and keeps the formula working all day long. The Milk also helps to hydrate the skin. It is enriched with light reflecting Cashmere Proteins which give the skin a radiance and allows the formula to be easily absorbed. And it also contains a UVA filter to protect the delicate eye area from sunlight and prevents any premature aging, although if you are going out in the sun, you should also wear sun cream as normal.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be used after cleansing. In order to use the product. I squirt a tiny amount of the product out of the tube and onto the back of my hand. You'll need to be careful though as if you squirt out too much product, it can't be returned to the bottle. I then take a bit off the back if my hand with my finger and, very gently, dab the product from the outer corner of the eye, moving inwards towards the nose.
You can leave the house wearing this bare faced or apply your normal make up. It is suitable for people wearing contact lenses but that still doesn't mean it is safe if you get it in your eye and if you do this, you should rinse it out immediately.
This product is a shimmering pearly baby pink colour and has a very silky texture. It looks like a paler version of Highbeam by Benefit. When applied to the skin, it really does instantly brighten and illuminate the skin and makes you look more awake. What's lovely about this is that it does not make it obvious why you're skin is brighter, so to the unknowing onlooker, you'll just appear to have glowing and healthy skin.
If you like this then also available in the Natural Beauty collection is the Natural Beauty Radiance Boosting Moisturiser and the Radiance Boosting Daily Scrub. This product comes in a small pearlised baby pink tubing with a screw top lid. It costs around £13 and can be bought from large department stores such as Boots and larger supermarkets and it is also available from many online websites.
I am a big fan of this product, as it's easy to use before work and makes you look so much better instantly. When make up is applied, it loses its effect and so it's wasted. Plus I would never use this to replace my everyday make up as it makes your dark circles look lessened but not as much as make up does.
As with all pearlised products, it may not suit all skin tones. I have very pale skin but the colour of the lotion doesn't look right on my friend with darker skin than mine. This product is just for right for me on those days when I'm in a rush to get somewhere and don't need to make a big effort on the make up front.
