With two young children at home, under eye cream is something I need by the bucket load. If I have a bad nights sleep or am quite tired, its my eyes that give it away as they do look very grey and tired so I use this wonderful product from Olay to try and repair any damage my under eyes might go through and help to give me a pepped up, fresh looking face and to help with those wrinkles that keep appearing. As they say, eyes are the window to the soul and so I want bright, sparkling eyes.
According to Olay,The skin around the eyes is especially fragile and dry. It does not secrete sebum or perspire. The skin in this area has hardly any stabilising fatty tissue to provide cushioning. It is in constant movement, with changes in facial expression, exposure to environmental factors, weather, heating and light, and all these factors lead to the formation of lines and wrinkles. So, if you want to counter those effects, you should start to apply this Olay eye gel.
The gel is said to reduce fine lines and wrinkles dark circles and puffiness and this is exactly why i use it as i find it really does work for me. The gel comes in a little pot and does have the consistency of a gel although it is not sticky or gloopy which I like. It is clear, so has no colour toit which to me says that its quite a natural product with no added colours which is good. The gel is really easy to apply. I like to out it on first thing in the morning to combat any puffiness I might have had over night. Then, when its time to put my make up on I dont need to wash it off or anything as it has just disappeared into my undereye. The gel contains soothing cucumber, which always works at cooling down my skin and also witch hazel which helps to diminish dark circles. There is also Pro-vitamin B5 in this gel too which helps the skins natural renewal process. I really think this is what helps on those wrinkles and little fine lines as they do seem to look better with daily use of this gel.So, you can see that this is really a wonder gel which works well for me and hopefully will for you too. My eyes look bright and nourished after a hard night or a hard week for that matter! The gel is often on special in Boots as part of their Olay promotions so expect to pay somewhere between £5-£10 for a little jar. Edit your reviewShare this review on
I have never tried any type of anti wrinkle cream before until I tried Olay anti wrinkle eye gel. Whilst I have never been completely convinced about the claims of anti wrinkle products, in the newspapers and on the television. I had to go out and find my self a cream, as recently I have stopped smoking and generally wanted to try and turn back some of the damage I have caused to my skin over the years.
The claim from Olay about there anti wrinkle eye gel is that it contains gentle moisturising agents that work with your skin's own natural fluids. Its deep moisturising action helps to reduce fine lines and smooth away wrinkles. This cool gel contains Pro-Vitamin B5, an essential element for the natural renewal process of the skin. Can be used for all skin types.
First before I start my review I just would like to say that Olay could reduce the packaging somewhat, I mean with today's wastage in the world and deforestation, I feel it's unnecessary to have such a larger box in comparison to a 15ml tiny pot.
The soothing cool gel does not smell of much, which I was so glad of. Being a bloke I did not want it to smell of perfume. When you apply the cream for the first time it feels strange, but as the gel dries around your eyes, it almost feels like some one is pulling your skin in every direction as it is working it's magic .I can honestly say i had instant results, i was so amazed, as I generally believed that it was not going to work. I thought you would have to pay £50 to £60 to have this much reduction of my crow's feet. It took a week of daily applications to see better results, but even after the first application, hand on my heart I really noticed a difference. It glides on evenly and feels light and luxurious, and takes around 30 seconds to apply and massage the cream around the eye area. It has become a daily routine now after brushing my teeth.
It took a little longer, around a month of using this product to see the dark circles around my eyes fade, I would say a good 40% reduction. Well I have acquired them over many years so I know they are going to take some time. But the point is that it does work. It has given me back some of the elasticity that I had lost from when I used to smoke and work night shifts. Plus the crows feet I can hardly see now, definitely a better option to the botox that I was considering..
I have no experience of these kinds of products, only from what female friends have told me from the best but it seems like Olay products, have come on leaps and bounds in terms of effectiveness. This product is no exception! For around £10 It has helped to prevent skin ageing and has reduces the appearance of my fine lines and darkness under my eyes. It does tightened your skin immediately, and there is an added bonus that this pot is very economical, as a little goes a long way. I would certainly recommend it's use, not just for women but men as well.
I think I laugh too much. That's the only explanation I can think of for the fact that, at 21, I started getting noticeable crow's feet around my eyes, which, now I'm 26, are well and truly ingrained. So, I figured it was time to start thinking about damage limitation.
This tiny (4 cm across) pot of Olay eye gel in a much more generously sized box would have normally sent me running for the hills with its £9.76 price tag. But a hefty reduction to £4.88 was tempting enough for me to buy it.
The purple box and the pot itself are frustratingly low on instructions- all it told me was to apply it in light strokes to my eye area after cleansing. I find that a tiny dab of the thick, clear gel is plenty to cover the area around each eye, so despite its small size, this pot lasts quite a long time. After applying, which I do daily, the gel dries very quickly, without leaving any stickiness or residue. The smell of the gel is very mild and ever so slightly chemically. It's hard to detect the cucumber it contains, but you can just about make out witch hazel.
So, the million dollar question- does it work? I would say, tentatively, yes, although having only used it for a month, I can't vouch for the longer term effects. Olay says the gel will minimise dark circles and puffiness, and I've certainly noticed the skin around my eyes looking fresher, although to be fair, I have had quite a few blissful nights' sleep this last month, so that's definitely helped. It also claims to minimise the appearance of fine lines, and I do think my laughter lines are less obvious now, even in the harsh light of the bathroom mirror. Could this be merely my mind playing tricks? Possibly, although I tend to be quite sceptical about these types of products, so I think it's unlikely.
The good results I've seen from using this gel over the last month mean that I would recommend it, although I don't think it will make a massive difference to my fine lines. If you're willing to pay a tenner for a small result, then this is for you. If not, bide your time and get it in the sale!
