I am a true lover of Elizabeth Arden products and I really think that on the whole Elizabeth Arden products are very good quality, high end products which offer very good results. I have seen numerous adverts for the Elizabeth Arden Prevage Eye range and I really wanted to try it but the price put me off - about £80 for 15mls of eye cream - out of my budget by a long shot!!!
I was shopping in Debenhams just before Christmas and I spotted the new Elizabeth Arden Gift with purchase. It was a make-up bag with a 5ml tube of Prevage Eye Anti-Ageing Moisturising Treatment and 3 other sample size Elizabeth Arden products.
The way the Elizabeth Arden gift with purchase promotion works is that you have to purchase two full size Elizabeth Arden items to get the sample size items, usually in a make-up bag, free of charge.
The Prevage whether it be the 5ml sample size or the 15ml full size product comes in the same silver plastic pot. The pot has a screw top lid. On the front of the pot is the name of the cream and on the bottom of the pot there are instructions on how to use the cream. On the 15ml full size pot the instructions are on the back of the pot.
Prevage Eye Anti-Ageing Moisturising Treatment delivers revolutionary Idebenone, still unsurpassed as the most powerful antioxidant available to correct, protect and transform the look of eyes. This multi-defense daily eye care essential is proven to help deliver all day intense hydration to the fragile eye area. Deflect the sun with encapsulated SPF 15 sunscreens for UVA/UVB protection and smooth the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and crow's feet.
Prevage Eye Moisturiser is Ophthalmologist tested.
The big selling point of this product is that it contains Idebenone. Idebenone is closely related to CoQ10 in its structure. It can replace CoQ10 in the process of cellular energy production and, just as CoQ10, idebenone is also an antioxidant.
Recently CoQ10 has been shown in numerous studies to improve skin wrinkles. Hence it has now been incorporated into skin creams via idebenone.
I have tried Prevage Anti-Ageing Night Cream in the past and I found the actual smell of the cream to be quite awful. WhenI open this eye cream the smell of the cream is very similar to the night cream but not as strong.
The eye cream is a very pale gold colour, quite like the night cream but the gold colour of the eye cream is not as intense as colour of the night cream.
I apply a tiny amount of the cream to my under eye area with my pinkie. I read years ago that this is the best way to apply eye cream as your under eye area is very delicate and your pinkie is your weakest finger so this stops you applying to much pressure to your skin when you apply the cream.
The cream is of medium texture, not thin or thick, just right. I apply the tiniest amount of cream to my under eye area. The cream sinks in to my skin as soon as I apply it. The cream feels very comforting, it is not overly heavy on my skin and when I look in the mirror I can see exactly where I have applied it, it looks quite pearlescent. I am very happy with the way this cream applies to my under eye area, it is a joy to use.
After using this cream for about a week I start to notice a difference in the appearence of the skin under my eyes. The skin looks much plumper than before I started using this cream. It also looks much brighter.
I don't suffer from dark circles under my eyes but if you do then I really think this cream would help. It works well to plump and fully moisturise your skin. This in turn helps your skin to look brighter and helps diminish the look of dark circles.
I have noticed no difference to fine lines, I still have a few. Thankfully I don't have the crows feet to go with them!
The most noticeable result I get with this cream is that it plumps and brightens my skin by moisturising it fully. Most other eye creams I have used have not been as effective as this eye cream. They have however been an awful lot cheaper.
I really enjoyed using the 5ml sample of this cream and it lasted almost one month. If I won the Lottery then I might spend £80 on a full size 15ml pot of this cream!
