Over the past few years, being a student who always left assignments to the last minute and who always partied a little too hard and a little too often, I could often pass for a panda with the dark cirlces I had under my eyes! A year and a bit after graduating though, my life has calmed down a lot but the dark circles and bags have remained!
Several weeks ago though, as I was shopping in my local Quality Save store, I spotted the Pure: Cucumber Eye Roll On Serum for the bargain price of 99p. At first I was sceptical, but then I thought I might as well try it, as it would only be 99p that I would be losing if I was unhappy with it. After several weeks of using the product once a day, I have to say that it may be the best 99p spend I have ever had.
As with the more expensive versions of this product, it comes in a box that gives you all the details of how to use it and what ingredients are included. The product is designed to be very much like a pen...almost like a bigger roller ball pen. All you have to do is unscrew the cap, and roll the roller across your under-eye a few times. I only use it once a day but you could do it both in the morning and at night too.
The roll on is easy to use, and even though the roller does feel cold, it adds to the soothing feeling. The roll on is easy to apply, and the size of the roller means that you can apply it accurately. The serum smells appealing and is not strong at all. I have very sensitive skin, but I have not had any problems with this product at all.
Over the past few weeks that I have been using this product, I have certainly been able to see a reduction in the bags under my eyes, and it was well worth the 99p. The results may be even more impressive if I used it twice a day rather than once, but even just using it daily has helped. This product deffinatly can compete with the more expensive brands in terms of affordability and results.
I suffer from quite bad bags, due to having an over-active thyroid giving me insomnia. On a little trip to Home Bargains browsing through the beauty section, I came across this little beauty. I have used various brands of eye creams, most of them achieving wonderful results, but also over time burning a whole in my pocket.
-- Price and Availability --
This can be found in Home bargains for a wonderful £1 and can also be found in various online stores at around £2.50. The price is very reasonable, even if you don't find the product does much for you at least you never spent a ridiculous amount of money.
-- Appearance --
The long thin plastic, white tube comes in a little green cardboard box with various information on the front. Also the packaging is very simplex, it is also quite eye catching. The roll on itself has a green plastic cap, keeping the roll on secure and preventing leakages. On the box it contains information such as the name of the product, the ingredients and what the product is for.
-- Application --
This is very easy to apply, I like to apply this morning and night after cleansing my face and before applying my moisturiser.
-- My experience --
I have tried many eye creams and roll on all producing similar results but all with a fairly expensive price tag. Seeing as this was only a £1, it was worth giving it a shot. I really like this product, as it made my eyes feel cool, tingly and refreshed. It made my eyes look more awake and it smells quite nice too, the very faint scent of cucumbers which is nice and refreshing. All though this hasn't cleared all signs of my under eye bags, it has made some improvement and made me feel more awake. As it was only a £1 I think the results are brilliant.
I haven't had really any problems with this product, it does tend to dry underneath your eyes out so if you do make-up after using I do recommend applying your moisturiser after using this rather than before. I have had this for a fair few months now and safe to say there is still plenty left.
Overall this product is good and not too bad quality, it may not be the best I've used. But for the price, it's definitely good. I will use this more often in the future, but I will also be sticking to my more expensive brands when I feel my eyes need more of a wakeup than this can provide.
I have always suffered from having under eye bags which is annoying as I hate looking tired and there is nothing worse than when someone says that you look tired. I know these roller pens for under the eyes have become quite trendy lately but some can be quite pricey. However, I came across this lower cost version by Pure which didn't look cheap at all and seemed to be the same idea of being a roll on pen for the under eye area, so I wanted to give it a try.
The roll on comes in a green box with the Pure logo on the top of the box and a picture of the item itself which actually looks really nice. There is a picture of an eye and showing how to use it and it states that it is cucumber and caffeine. On the front of the box it has an explanation of how the pen helps to soothe the tired skin and under eyes to reduce signs of under eye bags. The reverse of the box goes into depth about how to use it and the ingredients included.
PURE EYE ROLL ON
The roll on pen has a few warnings when using it, it should be kept out of reach of children. Also, it should avoid contact with eyes and if this occurs rinse with running water. This should not be used on irritated skin and should be stored in a cool dry place. The item is made with cucumber extract and caffeine which help to encourage drainage and refresh tired eyes as the roller massages the under eye area to help to influence this.
With the pen itself, you get 15ml inside and it is a short thin pen which curves in at the neck, to help with getting a better grip which I find is much easier to hold. The lid is green and it has a silver ball head which rolls around when you apply. You just gently massage this onto skin using the roller ball and this will help to roll the liquid onto the skin to refresh eyes. It is very cool at first and leaves a damp feeling under eyes but this soon gets absorbed.
After having used this Pure roll on pen I have noticed my eyes feel a lot fresher and a lot more awake. I use this pen, once a day and I feel that it really soothes my skin and although it hasn't miraculously cleared all signs of tiredness it just makes me feel a lot fresher and a lot more alive in the morning and through out the day I feel my eyes just feel a lot wider and I like that. You can faintly smell the cucumber extract, but it isn't too strong so it is fine.
In terms of the benefits of this pen, I do think it is easy to use and it actually does help me in some kind of way. I think for the price paid for this item, I really cannot complain as it is a bargain and it is a nice little gadget to have and it is small that you can fit it into a bag easily. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a bit of help with their under eye bags or who just feels they look tired as it is definitely worth a try for the price.
I got this eye roll on in Poundland and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it was only £1 a definite bargain for this price.
