“ Brand: Shiseido / Type: Eye Care / Suitable for: Eye / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Vitalizes / Product line: Shiseido The Skincare „
I have written other reviews on this site on a number of items in the Shiseido 'The Skincare' range. This is the most recent purchase I have made, but will definitely not be my last Shiseido purchase.
I am in my 20s but, ever since seeing an episode of 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy' a couple of years ago, I have been concerned about starting to use eye cream as soon as possible, as according to the show, you are never too young to start using it. I have tried to build it into my routine but it takes a LOT for something to become a habit for me - often times, after a week of steady use, I would forget after one night, and then slowly drift back into my old routine.
When buying this eye cream, I was aware of the literally over-night effect of other Shiseido products I had purchased - the Night Moisture Recharge transformed my skin after only one use, so I was hoping that, despite not having any visible signs of ageing around my eyes, I would like so vibrant and refreshed after using this cream, I would find myself unable to go another day without using it regularly.
Unfortunately, I don't really think this has happened, and it's been my first disappointment with this Japanese make-up house. Maybe it's because I never had problems with my eyes anyway, but I haven't noticed much of a difference between my face pre-Eye Revitalizer and post-Eye Revitalizer, and I have found myself falling into the routine of forgetting to use it, shrugging, and turning back to my movie. I happened to remember to use it last night, and I realized I had forgotten, if anything, how sticky it can be - it's not advisable to wear it any time before you're immediately going to sleep, as it can make your eye lids almost stick together! And if you have an itch on the area upon which you've applied it, it's even worse.
To be fair, this review is probably only half the story as, like I said, I have never had problems with the skin around my eyes and therefore wouldn't see much of a difference anyway. But I am a huge fan of Shiseido and am contemplating whether or not this was worth the premium price. I'm still not an eye cream convert!
