I've been using these eye make-up remover pads for quite some time, particularly when I'm travelling away from home.
They remove all eye make-up, even tough to remove mascara, and leave your eyes fresh and clean. I find I generally don't need to use more than one or two of these pads to remove my eye make-up.
To make the best use of them, I fold the pad in half and press it gently to my closed eye for a couple of seconds, and then wipe. The mascara comes straight off, and then the rest is easy. Just wipe around the whole eye, turning the pad around so that there is a clean section to wipe with. You can then follow up with facial wipes or cleansing products, and since you know that your eyes are already clean, you can avoid that area and any chance of inadvertently flooding your eye with facial cleanser.
For me, though, the biggest advantage of these pads is when I'm travelling, particularly when I'm flying. They are brilliant if you’re travelling light, especially if you're flying with only hand baggage, because they don’t qualify as liquid, cream, or gel, and so will not cause any problems through security. Just one less item that you need to put in the clear bag. The pack is also so small and compact it can easily fit into most make-up bags. Another bonus is that a full pack weighs very little and so won’t put a strain on your weight allowance.
These pads are non-greasy, so they're great if you have a make-up disaster and need to start again. You just wipe away the disaster and are left with a clean surface, so that you can reapply your make-up straight away.
I always have some of these in my make-up bag.
Something that I love about simple products is that they are, well, simple. You know that, as you are using the product, you aren't putting your skin into contact with any nasties or chemicals or perfumes. In addition to that, the packaging boasts that it contains 2 vitamins (and here I was thinking I had to eat my vitamins!) making you feel all the better for having chosen the product.
Now, I don't know about most people, but I am very fond of multi tasking and so when I am removing my make up I often get distracted and can get some of the wipe in my eye. Although I would NOT recommend you get this product in your eye, if it accidentally has a fleeting visit with your eyeball, it doesn't sting too much, which is always a bonus.
Overall, the wipes are very efficient at taking off make-up, including waterproof mascara and leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean. The wipes are big enough that I find I can use only one wipe for a full face of make-up, and sometimes I'll even split the wipe in half and that will do me.
The packaging is also a good point to mention. The fact that the packet is resealable means that the wipes stay moist and don't dry out (unless you don't close the packaging properly of course, something I happen to be guilty of). Another thing worth mentioning about packaging is that simple so these wipes in smaller packets, which are ideal for saving space on holiday.
Now, when it comes to price, I feel that these are a little bit more expensive than other make-up remover pads at about £4 a packet. Luckily, there are often deals on it: 3 for 2 at boots or 2 for £5 at Asda are common ones. So next time you see these beauties on a deal I recommend you stock up and give them a shot - before someone like me gets there before you!
I found these Simple Eye make up remover pads in packs of 30 in Superdrug for £1.98. I think they must be on offer because I recalled seeing them at £4 in Asda and thinking they were too expensive. I snapped them up for under £2 as I've been struggling with watery eyes lately so keep them handy for when my eye liner and mascara runs! (I think the watery eyes are due to hay fever by the way).
What are they?
Thirty little pads soaked in cooling eye make up remover to remove eye make up or touch up where it's gone wrong.
I have used these to completely remove my eye make up remover when travelling and I can't be bothered to pack all the little potions and lotions I seem to collect. I use them day to day in my handbag to touch up the watery eye damage and I have also used them to cool down 'hot eyes' after a hard day (think cucumbers replaced with the patches).
Simple seem to tick all the boxes for me. They are not overly fussy with the branding but the products always agree with me and are a joy to use.
Once I open one of these packs they all seem to disappear so quickly, I think it's because I enjoy using them and the cool sensation they give to my eyes. I do still use a proper eye make up remover and pad in my routine on an evening but these are really handing for correcting the smudges in the morning after a night's sleep that refused to budge under the make up remover.
I think £1.98 is a decent price for these. I wouldn't really want to pay much more so it's worth shopping around ad stockpiling them when you see them at a good price, that's what I do!
I recommend these, they are really soft and gentle on the eye area and remove lots of make up. I have had no problems using these, they never made my sensitive eye area sore or red.
I really like Simple as a brand because they don't add anything artificial or complicated in their products so they are gentle on the skin and eyes. I picked up the Kind To Eyes Eye Make Up Remover Pads by Simple
About the product
The product promises to gently remove eye make up, including waterproof mascara. The pads contain vitamins to soften, nourish and smooth the skin. They don't contains alcohol or oil, and they don't contain any harsh fragrances or colouring. The pads claim that they won't sting or irritate the eyes and that they won't leave your skin dry or greasy.
How do you use the product?
You need to remove one pad from the packet and smooth it gentle over the eye area, using both sides of the pad. You can use another if the pad doesn't come away clean. You need to ensure that you use a gentle action so that you don't cause any wrinkles to develop before their time.
Packaging and Price
The pads come contained within a packet which is similar to that of a packet of face wipes. The packaging is white and green, and it has a covering on the top which opens to release the products. The product will cost you around £3.50 per packet and they can be bought from your local supermarkets, stores such as Boots and Superdrug, and also from a range of online supermarkets.
The pads themselves are easy to remove from the packet. They are square shaped with small raised squares covering the surface. The pads themselves are small and easily fit in the palm of your hand. The pads are still smooth despite the raised surface so they don't scratch your skin.
They are also damp enough that they glide over the skin easily without pulling or dragging. The pads are gentle as promised and they don't sting or irritate my eyes at all and they don't make my eyes sore. They remove a lot of eye make up on the first wipe and I can easily remove all of my day eye make up using the pad. You don't need to wipe much before all of the make up is gone.
When I wear heavy eye make up, I've found that two pads are needed and this didn't really work on my waterproof mascara as I was having to rub my eyes too much. The pads aren't oily and there don't leave any greasy residue behind. They don't dry out the skin or leave it feeling tight or uncomfortable. They haven't caused me to develop any blemishes.
All in all, this are handy wipes to remove eye make up quickly and effectively. They are gentle on the skin and quick to use. They are great for the end of a night out with the girls although I need two wipes to tackle heavy make up and it didn't remove my waterproof mascara completely. It didn't dry out my skin or make my skin oily. These are good wipes but I'm knocking of a star for the price.
I use quite a lot of the Simple range of products. I like them because they don't contain any harsh ingredients, they are really kind and gentle on my skin and they also do a really good job, on the whole. I am trying to take better care of my eyes in terms of using the corrects products and as the skin around the eye area is thinner and more delicate, I decided to buy some Simple Kind to Eyes make up remover pads. Boots were selling these for £3.99 for a pack of 30 which I did think was on the expensive side, however, after having used them now for a few weeks, I do think they are worth the price.
They are lovely and moist but not too wet so that they feel sloppy when you use them to remove make up. Generally speaking, I only need to use one of these wipes in order to be able to remove make from both eyes, however, if I have slightly more make up on my eyes, say if I have been out for the evening, rather than just at work all day, then I do find that I need to use two wipes as one just doesn't do the job as effectively.
These wipes are so effective that I never have to rub or scrub at my eyes. They are really brilliant at removing all traces of make up, including waterproof mascara and eyeliner and they never every smudge. The make up comes off in a clean sweep on the cloth and they are so kind and gentle and don't sting or irritate my eyes at all. I wear contact lenses and I do have fairly sensitive skin around my eyes but they have never caused me any negative reaction during the time I have been using them.
They are quite a thick and substantial wipe but they are nevertheless soft and feel very gentle around the eye area. They have n fragrance at all, being Simple and they are also infused with vitamin B5. I am happy with these wipes and glad I tried them out as I had just been removing my eye make up with ordinary facial wipes.
Nice wipes, fairly expensive, I suppose, but ones I'd recommend.
Facial wipes are ok for removing surface make-up from my skin but I only really use them when I am feeling particularly lazy. The thing that normal skin wipes don't do all that great is remove eye make-up so I like to have some proper eye make-up remover wipes at home too for days when I just can't be bothered to cleanse tone and moisturise properly.
Simple kind to eyes eye make-up remover pads are great for having in the house or for taking away with me on night and weekends away from home as they do a great job of removing my eye make-up and are quick and convenient to use.
In a pack you get 30 pads and they cost £3.99 per pack. This is a little expensive but as I don't tend to use them every day they last me for a few weeks at a time as long as I make sure and reseal them again properly.
The pads are infused with Pro Vitamin B5 and other goodies to be kind to my delicate eye skin. The thing that I like about these pads in particular is that they really do remove all my eye make-up even tough waterproof mascara.
When I first bought them ages ago I thought that perhaps they would be too gentle to remove all my eye make-up but this has never been a problem and I don't need to have to really rub hard as this is something that I try not to do on my delicate eye skin.
A gentle sweep is enough to get rid of all the make-up. They feel fine against my eye skin and don't irritate or cause my eyes to become red which can be a problem with some wipes as they are too harsh for this area of my face.
Being from Simple they don't have any strong smell or harsh ingredients and my skin is always left feeling as though it has been moisturised and cleansed thoroughly after using them.
I do find that I have to use two pads however. I use one pad to remove the make-up on both eyes and then I use a clean pad to pick up any leftover residue and to make doubly sure that my eyes are clean as I am paranoid about getting infections from leaving my make-up too long.
I like these pads although I do think they are on the expensive side. They work well and are kind to my skin without causing it to be sore and sting. I wouldn't use them every day as I like to properly cleanse tone and moisturise but they are great for lazy evenings when I am comfy in bed and can't be bothered going through the whole routine.
Every day I wear eye make up - eyeliner, mascara, sometimes eye shadow and false eyelashes. It was beginning to take a toll on my eyes and they were watering constantly. I was prescirbed some eye drops and was told to make sure I remove ALL make up before I go sleep. For the first week or so I simply gave my eyes a more thorough was when I was cleaning my face with face scrub. However it was hard to get it all and time consuming. So then I used ordinary baby wipes but they made my skin sore and sting as I have fairly sensitive skin. Then I purchased the 'Simple Eye Make Up Remover Wipes' and they seemed to work a treat.
WHAT I LOVE
They smell nice, they are no hassle, easy to dispose and they are soft and gentle on my skin.
WHAT I DON'T LOVE SO MUCH
You don't get enough in the packet and you have to use quite a few to get ALL the make up off.
I would recommend this to a friend, especially if they were in the same position as me because although I can't be 100% sure these were the most effective things to help stop my eye leaking because I was also taking eye drops, I know that they were extremely helpful and I still use them now.
I brought this pack of thirty make-up remover wipes because of what it claims on the packet. This is from the Simple 'Kind To Eyes' range. It contains Pro-vitamin B5 and no alcohol or oil which means there should be no greasy skin. Nor should there be signs of the opposite problem of skin dryness caused by the alcohol.
Pro-Vitamin B5 when applied to skin makes the skin soft and penetrates beneath to heal and increase hydration. People who suffer from dry skin and related problems ought to benefit from this. This is why these pads should not cause irritation to your eyes. I find my skin can be sensitive so I am drawn to products in the 'Simple' range because of their claims to meet my needs.
Eyes are such a delicate area and it's important to give them the care that they deserve. Make-up can be full of harmful chemicals and so long as we insist on wearing it then let's be kinder to our skin, after the party, and give our bodies time to revive before the following day begins. But are these pads really the prefect combination of kindness to our skin?
The green and white packing representing the gentleness of nature is easy to peel open from the top. Inside are thirty pads. I just pull out the top pad and wipe away the old make-up.
I do not have to rub hard. It's great to just be able to gently wipe and be done. This is especially so when all I want to do is to collapse into bed. There have been late nights where - sin of all sins - I've gone to bed with my make-up still on.
This little package of pads saves me so much bother that there is no reason to wake up with panda eyes ever again. I'm doing my skin a favour with these pads. It's so easy to use. I tend to wipe away in one direction only and use the back of the same pad for the other eye to avoid any possible infections without having to waste two pads in one session. And if I'm nnot lazy or being tight the second pad comes out for the rest of my face.
There is no sting. The pads are soft. There is no mess involved.
I wear water-proof mascara and joy of joys I don't have to rub furiously and pull out all my lashes in the process because these pads wipe the black gunk off in seconds.
No trace of make-up is left, at least, not when I look in the mirror in the early hours of the morning. In the light of day, and with a sober head, I've never noticed any make-up left behind. In fact, the wipes are refreshing after a fun night out.
I paid £3.99 at Boots. This is expensive but they do work better than soap and water which always used to sting my eyes. I'm glad they come in small packs so that they don't have a chance to dry out. I wish the price was cheaper but I can't complain at the pads not meeting the claims on the packet.
In answer to the earlier question, yes, this is the perfect combination of kindness in a handy little packet of wipes.
Update, since writing this review I have realised that Simple products have chemicals in which might mean we are beig misled into assuming products are more natural than they really are?
WHAT IS IT?
A packet of 30 eye make up remover wipes. They are just like face wipes but the wipes have been wetted with eye make up remover instead of general cleanser.
HOW DO YOU USE THEM?
They are very easy to use and all you have to do is pull a wipe out of the packet and wipe it across your eye. You have to make sure that you use the wipe in all the places where you are wearing make up but this is very easy and because the wipes are nice and soft you can get into your lashes for removing mascara and also wipe along your lash line for removal of eyeliner. I use one wipe for each eye because I wear full eye make up everyday, when you have finished you just put the wipes in the bin with the rest of your rubbish.
WHAT I THINK
I like these wipes because they are kind and do not sting my eyes. There is no fragrance on the wipes and I think that is why they are so gentle. I like the wet feel of the wipes, when I first used them I was surprised by how wet they were compared to face cleansing wipes but that is a good thing because it means you don't need to put very much pressure on the skin around your eyes.
They do not always remove every bit of make up on the first attempt but after another wipe they will be effective. The wipes are good though and it's only the same as using separate eye make up remover and cotton wool just handier because they are ready to go and there is no mess of having to use different products.
They make my skin feel very wet under my eyes but the wipes are quite moisturising so that doesn't matter to me, I leave the wet on my skin and it dries quickly and makes my skin feel soft and refreshed.
4 Dooyoo Stars.
I don't wear makeup really often but since my birthday almost 2 weeks ago I decided to spruce myself up a bit since turning another lovely year older lol. I bought some lovely eyeliner and mascaras so decided instead of doing the lazy option of sleeping with make up on, I got some of these simple eye make up remover pads.
The packaging is similar to a packet of wet wipes or face wipes in a plastic packet with a releasable label, whereby you can pop one out easily. I always ensure to close the pack back properly as nothing is worse than when the pads drying out which would render them useless! They come in a white pack with a green design around the trim and there are 30 pads in a pack for about £3-£4 depending on if they are on offer.
The pads are round and of the same size as a cotton wool pad. The texture is soft and they are well moisturised in that they are not too soppy and wet but they contain enough makeup remover to do a goof job. I find the pads really easy to use and I find one pad is more than sufficient to remove even the heaviest and darkest of make up and clumps of mascara which is really good. I don't find I have to rub too hard so as to irritate my eyes which is also a plus! Being from the simple range these pads contain no alcohol, no oil, no perfume and no colour so they are excellent for those with sensitive skin. I used to have bad eczema and whilst not on my face I am always careful to use products that are gentle and these pads totally fit the bill.
Overall, these makeup remover pads are really handy and get the job done! I think the price is steep at the £4 price scale for 30 considering I can get an entire face wipe for probably £2 in the superdrug range. I normally use my Estee Lauder eye makeup remover but as a secondary and cheaper option these aren't bad!
I like to wear make up on a daily basis and even if I am not wearing a large amount of make up or I am pressed for time I like to wear mascara. I usually wear eye liner with it too if I have the time and often I can find it hard on my eyes to scrub the using make up removing wipes. Last year I tried a cream product that worked quite well for removing eye make up but it wasn't very practical and so I started looking for products specifically designed for my eyes. One product that I have been using recently are these Simple kind to eyes eye make up remover pads. I paid £3 for 30 pads in Superdrug and feel that these have been very good value for money.
Obviously being pads these are much more convenient for me than using cream and cotton wool pads although they are not cheaper of course. I do not mind paying for convenience though and I like that I can pack these in my overnight bag if I am going somewhere for the night with my husband or visiting relatives. The packaging for these wipes is convenient too and very functional also with the simple clean look of Simple products in green and white and a peel back sticky tab on the front of the pads. All I need to do is pull back the sticker and remove a pad and then it can be stuck back down to prevent the rest of the pads from drying out. I am about to finish my packet and I have probably used one of these at least every other day so perhaps I have used these for around 40 to 50 days but they haven't dried out at all and are as moist today to use as they were when I opened it and used the first one.
To look at these really are around the same size as a cotton wool pad meaning that they are reasonably sized for my eyes. They are quite thick and comfortable to hold and I use one side on each eye. Because these are white I am able to see the removed eye liner and mascara but of course I can see that I have removed my make up properly simply by looking in the mirror. These have a simple clean smell to them but they aren't perfumed at all, like all Simple products, making them ideal for my eyes which can be sensitive at the best of times. There is a nice moistness to these pads which means that there is enough liquid for me to clean both of my eyes without the pads running out of moisture. There isn't so much moisture that these drip everywhere when I run them across my eyes.
These pads work very well at removing make up, as I want them to of course, and even waterproof mascara is removed when using these pads. I do not have to rub at my eyes to remove the excess make up so my eyes do not get sore as I can just run these gently across my eyes a couple of times to remove all my eye make up. These pads do not make my eyes sore at all and they are very kind and gentle to my eyes. I do not end up with any redness even if I am working on removing eye liner from my inner edge of my eye (forgotten what that part is called!).
I wear eyeliner and mascara on a daily basis so an effective and gentle make-up remover is a must have.
I usually use make-up remover and a cotton pad to remove my make-up but seeing as I spotted these on offer at £2.00 in Wilkinson's I decided that I might as well try them as they seemed like a good idea. They usually retail at around £3.99 for a pack of thirty wipes which seemed quite expensive to me and I thought that the rrp seemed like a rip off at first, but having now tried them I would happily pay the full price as they're so quick and easy to use and they're great at getting rid of even the tiniest traces of make-up.
The pads come packaged in a cute little square shaped packet which has the usual Simple colour scheme - green and white. The brand and product name are written on the front and the packet has all of the inormation on it needed including the ingredients and what the product does. Opening the packet couldn't be easier as there's a little thin strip of plastic that pulls off and I just pull a wipe out and then seal it again. The strip sticks back down securely, preventing the pads from drying out.
The pads themselves are around the same size as an average cotton pad - they're a decent size and as they're thick I am able to use both sides of each pad. The pads are white meaning that any mascara and eyeliner that's been removed shows up easily which I find handy as I am able to glace at the pad half way through using it to see if I've got nost of the make-up off.
The pads don't smell of much unlike the make-up remover that I use to remove my foundation, but I don't mind this as it re-assures me that there's no perfume or nasty chemicals in the ingredients. The pads are moist but not completely drenched and when I rub the pads over my skin the liquid doesn't ooze out. After using them my skin does feel a little moist but they don't dry out or irritate my skin at all.
I use these after using my usual make-up remover to remove my foundation and I use these purely to remove my eye make-up so that the pack lasts longer. It takes 2-3 pads to get rid of a few coats of waterproof mascara and eyeliner and I don't need to rub it against my eyes or anything - a few gentle wipes does the job. These are really effective at getting every last bit of make-up off and even when I use them right near my waterline (the bottom of my eyelid) they don't sting. My eyes are never sore or red after using these and they're very made from durable cotton - they don't break apart or anything while I am using them.
Overall I highly recommend these wipes. They're a little pricey but definitely worth every penny - five out of five stars.
As an avid eye liner and mascara user I find that a good eye make remove is a make up bag essential ! I have tried a number of different brands and these are the best I've used. There are no artificial added ingredients so these are very kind to the skin - I can use them every night without irritating the delicate skin around the eyes. They are also 100% effective at removing eye make up, including thick black eyeliner (although for extremely made up eyes you will need to rub over with the pad a few times). They leave no after smell which is good as some other brands can smell a bit of chemicals. Also they are non greasy. In terms of size the actual pads are very small , really just big enough to cover the eye area and no more. In terms of affordability they are at the higher end of the price range however this reflects how effective they are. Whilst this product is excellent the Simple face wipes do a similar job and can be used on face and eyes so are better value for money.
Simple Kind to Eyes Eye Make Up Remover Pads (30 pack £3.99 at Boots)
So as with most of the Simple brand this product has no perfume, and no colour which is fantastic for those of us with sensitive skin. The product has been designed to be 'kind to eyes', and I have personally never had any issues with them. They contain no alcohol, meaning they do not dry, or leave your skin feeling tight. They also have no oil in them, which means that they do not leave your skin greasy or sticky after use.
The pads are in the simple green and white packaging, and are round, and feel smooth on your skin. As expected the best way to use them is to gently wipe them over they eyes, I tend to use two, and place them over my eyes for a minute or so (like cucumber slices) if I have been wearing waterproof mascara as I feel this softens the mascara and makes it easier to remove. The wipes have no issues removing 'normal' eye make up, but with water proof mascara I do feel they need that little bit of extra help. Since having my eyes lasered I have had particularly sensitive eyes, and as such the rubbing motion required without the 'soaking' would possibly cause me issues.
The package reseals in a similar fashion to a packet of wet wipes, with a releasable label, and I have only once had issues with this, but the label hadn't been pushed down at all.
All in all I find these wipes to be amazing. I've always had sensitive skin, but since my eye lasering they have been more sensitive than normal and these wipes have really been fantastic. I would definitely recommend them to a friend, and probably have on several occasions.
Definitely a five star product!!
These wipes really are kind to eyes as they claim to be.
They are available from most supermarkets and pharmacies and I have even seem some in the local pound shop so keep your make-up free eyes peeled to grab yourself a real bargain. Even at full price (between £2 - £2.50) they do offer great value for money as from the top wipe to the final wipe, the quality is excellant.
The packaging reminds me of clean, fresh and 'simplness' The simple brand is typically green and white and easy to spot. A well trusted brand which can be used by varying generations in the family.
The sticky tab at the top keeps the wipes moist and fresh and itself remains sticky and reseals adequatley.
The wipes themselves are moist but not greasy at all and can be used just to freshen up throughout the day.
I do find that i need a fair few to remove my eye make up completley so potentially it could be quite pricey.
