Simple Kind To Eyes Revitalising Eye Roll On
Advantages: Cools eyes and makes you feel alert.
Disadvantages: Can over-use the product and make your skin feel too cold.
I thought my eyes were looking quite tired lately with what seemed like sagging and darkness around the sockets and I wanted a product that might make me look a little more like a human rather than a zombie! When I had a look at the products in store I thought this one was fairly priced and within my range at £4 for the tube. I have also used a lot of Simple products in the past and trust the brand to deliver high quality products.
The product comes in a cardboard packet which contains a 15ml tube. Information is supplied on both the outer packet and is printed on the tube itself. This product is actually a 'roll-on'. The end of the tube is fitted with a small stainless steel ball which releases a liquid from the tube when lightly pressed over your skin. This is the first eye roll-on product I've ever used so I had no expectations.
Simple state that this product is "revitalising" and will provide "vitamin goodness" to ensure your skin becomes or remains healthy. The product also contains "three skin loving nutrients" which can reduce a puffy or swollen appearance. Simple are a brand who make their products without adding colour or perfume so that the ingredients are quite natural. Despite this having no perfume it actually smells mildly of cucumber as this is one of the ingredients in the special formula.
To use this product you should apply in small circles to the area around the eye. Any excess liquid gel can be worked in with fingers. I find the product easy to use and apply. There is a easy to remove screw off cap. The roller ball is about 1 centimetre in diameter so is the perfect size to apply to the small area around the eyes. The roller ball slides over the skin very easily and it's easy to work it in any direction and around in circles. I actually find that it's not entirely necessary to work it in circles though as this to me produces an excess of gel.
I was surprised at first by how icy cold the roller-ball feels on my skin. It's literally like a stick of ice. This, as you might expect, is very shocking and really helps to open your eyes up immediately. It has the same effect as splashing your whole face with freezing water to wake yourself up. As I mentioned I find that rotating the tube in circles can cause an excess of the cold gel to be dispensed. This leads to a feeling around the eyes that you have been standing in icy winds for an hour! I have found that little dabs and dots works much better and leaves my eyes feeling refreshed but not overly frozen!
The consistency of the liquid gel is quite thin and watery but it dries quite quickly on the skin if you don't overdo it. As it dries you get this rather numbing sensation on the skin. It's tingling and refreshing. I have never had any problems with the gel irritating either my skin or my eyes. I do have very thin skin around my eyes and would consider this area to be the most sensitive on my skin and I also wear contact lenses but this product is fine and doesn't cause me any irritation or problems.
I have dark circles around my eyes and this product has not helped in terms of reducing that appearance. However the product has successfully reduced puffiness and this has had the effect of making me look more awake, more alert, more healthy and younger. I think, however, that the biggest effect this gel has is to make your eyes feel less strained and tired. I think this is a great product to keep around when you are having a long day and you need to stay vital and keep those eyes wide open. I don't mind dabbing this over my make-up as it doesn't make your concealer or mascara run. You might want to powder it over though afterwards, but it looks fine regardless on my face.
I think I would buy this again and I think that £4 is a good price to pay for what the product is and the effects it achieves. I would recommend it to people who have to stare at computers all day or those who work long shifts.
