I absolutely love the Body Shop Vitamin C range and find that the products are great for brightening my skin and making it look more radiant especially as my skin is prone to looking very pale and dull due to Pernicious Anaemia. Like the other products in the Vitamin C range the Eye Reviver comes in a distinct orange packaging, and has a lovely orange/citrus smell. This product comes in a bottle and is pump action allowing you to dispense just the amount required. The product itself is a white, fairly thin and easily absorbed cream leaving the skin lovely and moisturised. I find that a bottle lasts a really long time as you only need a small amount. This has now been discontinued and replaced with the Eye Reviver duo which I have yet to try, however it can still be brought on the likes of Amazon and Ebay which is where I got my latest bottle- however prices do vary. I find that this is so soothing and refreshing especially on tired eyes and as such is so lovely to use especially after a hard day. I find that my eyes look brighter and more radiant and certainly feel revived and refreshed. It feels really lovely on my skin and absorbs very well. Because it feels so nice on my eyes I do tend to apply it fairly frequently much more frequently, than I would with standard eye creams. In my opinion it is a real shame it has been discontinued/ replaced as it makes me eyes feel refreshed and more radiant and feels lovely on tired eyes. Its certainly well worth getting your hands on a bottle.
Where i live such a hectic lief style coping with a full time job, kids, housework and cooking, looking after my skin isn't a main priority. I realised the other day when i was getting ready for a family meal out that my skin is multiplying my age dramatically. My skin wasn't so muck wrinkly just suprisingly bumpy and rough. I mentioned this to my daughter who has just become a beautition and she recommended Vitamin C skin reviver from the Body Shop. After very little pursuading i popped into town to buy some. My expectation wasn't very high as it was relatively cheap. I decided to give it two weeks to work as a trial run. I have now been using this for a year and my skin has NEVER been so soft and smooth. I applied it every morning before i put on my makeup as it makes a great base. I will also apply it once i have taken all my makeup before i go to bed. I was amazed that after at the difference it was alerady making to my skin even after a couple of uses! Due to how Great this product is i am now brave enough to go out without foundation on somedays! It is brilliant value for money and will last a good couple of months depending on the amount that you use. I will continue recomending this product to every one as works better than the expensive creams. I hope that the results are as succusful for you as they were for me.
The Vitamin C Skin Reviver is another Body Shop product that I ended up buying after sampling the tester. I loved the orange scent and the consistency of the reviver is also very unusual - it sinks into your skin (in a similar way to the anti-bacterial gel you put on your hands when you visit the hospital) - sorry for the clinical description, but it seems to magically absorb into the skin in a similar way! *** Price and availability *** This product is £12.00 for a 30ml tube, or £12.50 for 200ml tub. You can buy this product from Body Shop stores - which are located on most major high streets. Or alternatively you can purchase a tube at a Body Shop at Home party, or on-line at www.thebodyshop.co.uk. The Vitamin C Skin Reviver comes in a bottle with a little pump attached to it and it's a bright orange colour. The bottle is usually located with other vitamin C products. You have to press the nozzle on the top of the tube which then dispenses the product. *** My Opinion *** I'm 25 now and I am conscious that my skin is aging so I try to look after it as well as I can. I usually buy products within The Body Shop's vitamin E range, but the Vitamin C Skin Reviver is describes as being "an ideal skin pick-me-up to enhance your glow" and we could all do with a bit of that from time to time! You only need to apply a little bit of the reviver under your eyes. It comes out of the dispenser as a clear gel substance and it has a gorgeous orange smell to it. It also absorbs under your eye lids almost instantly - it almost feels as though your skin is getting a drink of vitamin C. My skin is smooth after application and it also feels cool and refreshed. I also find that the reviver makes a plump, silky base for my foundation and when I apply makeup after applying the reviver it does seem to stay put for longer. Although I enjoy using this product but I can't afford to buy it regularly because I find that it runs out fairly quickly (after around three weeks of using it every day) and I can't justify spending £12 every week that only makes a marginal difference to my skin. Overall I'd say that this product is nice and refreshing to use, I have to award it four stars because it smells divine and it feels lovely when you rub it into your skin. However this is not a beauty essential and a bottle won't last long...
As far as eye creams go, you are generally stuck for choice and bombarded with claims and false advertising. Although I'm only just in my twenties, my skin and eye area in particular is something I am keen to take care of so hopefully I can avoid deep wrinkles and lines in years to come. I have always trusted The Body shop for quality and I have never been dissatisfied by any of their products, so when I came across the Vitamin C range in store, I decided to give The Vitamin C Eye Reviver cream a try. At £12.50 for 30ml, this is expensive compared to what you may find in Superdrug from brands such as Nivea or Simple, however as Vitamin C has so many wonderful properties that the skin relishes in, I was prepared to stump up the cash for this. Like all the Vitamin C range in The Body Shop, the packaging is bright orange which may not be the most attractive thing to have amongst your beauty products, but never the less don't judge an eye cream by it's cover! The lid is a plastic white, pull off type lid however it is easy to fall off so be weary if you put the product in your bag as you may end up with a lid missing. The Body Shop claims that this product is "A light, refreshing gel that boosts the skin's smoothness, radiance, and vitality, leaving if supple and conditioned". Usually I wouldn't agree with what the claims are, as we all know how companies like to over hype to get you to purchase the product. I was pleasantly surprised with this, and I didn't think it would work as well as it did. The cream is more of a gel and one squirt is enough per eye. I have used many eye creams, and the worst thing is when the product just sits on your under eyes or gets in the creases where you have a line or two and doesn't really do anything. I was amazed at how quick this product sunk in, and felt refreshing not sticky or pasty at all! I definitely noticed my eyes looked more awake and the fine line I have under my eye did reduce significantly. As this is a Vitamin C product, I was more confident about using this as I am not keen on putting rubbish on my skin, especially around my eyes. The product is very easy to distribute and I started using it morning and night. My only downside about this product, is that 12ml really isn't enough as it will only last a few weeks if that. If you only use it occasionally then fair enough it will last longer, but as you start to see the results and given it is so refreshing on the eye lids/under eyes you will want to use it as often as you moisturise anyway. I think the size of this should be increased to at least 20ml to get your moneys worth. Having said that, given the results this delivers and considering how gentle yet effective it is on the eye area, apart from the cost I really can't fault it. When my student loan comes in again, this is definitely on the list and I am also going to buy the Vitamin C general moisturiser for my face.
The Body Shop is such a great, well known household name, that you just know you can't go wrong with anything they do. On top of the reputation, you know you can count on their products for containing fair traded, natural ingredients that are not tested on animals. I am not a particularly 'ethical' shopper, but it always makes me feel a little better knowing all this! I don't normally use the Vitamin C skin care range as my favourite skin care range is the Vitamin E range, but I did purchase a couple of items from the Vitamin C range, with the promise of a good zesty revival for tired and polluted skin. The Vitamin C range is great if you work or spend most of your time in quite a dry environment - such as an air conditioned office. It is also a good range to use if your skin is exposed to a lot of pollution, such as working in a city centre. It also provides a good hangover cure for your skin!! The eye reviver is one of the nicer eye creams I have used recently, but this is largely due to the nice citrusy scent. The citrus in the product also works well to make your eyes feel refreshed and cool. However, the visible results are not as apparent. It is not a great product for alleviating puffiness or dark circles. I also wouldn't recommend using the Vitamin C range if you have particularly sensitive skin as this range can be quite astringent and can make sensitive skin break out. Overall, a nice refreshing product if you need a bit of a boost after a long night out or some extra va va voom in the morning, but for long term effects I would try something else.
When i first started uni i got caught up in the insane "university lifestyle", non stop party mode basically. I found below my eyes became puffy and dark circles were visible. I basically looked like id had no sleep for a month, which i hadn't. Not many people know that the skin surrounding your eyes is actually 5-10 times thinner compared to the rest of the face. With skin this fragile, your eye area is usually the first place to show distinct signs of aging, like fine lines, puffiness and dark circles. In addition, the place that is normally most noticable from lack of sleep, which i experienced. I bought this product hoping that applying it daily would rejuvenate my eye area and make me look alive again. The antioxidant vitamin C helps to protect the delicate skin around your eye from the environment and premature aging (lines), while helping reduce the appearance of fine lines, puffiness and dark circles. You apply 2 or 3 drops and gently rub in just below the eye everyday before bed, or after you have showered. After a week, below my eyes looked much better and i was amazed with the results that it had in such a short time. I have continued to use the product as part of my skincare routine as and when i remember really. Its great if you are in the situation i was, or your looking for an anti-aging product. Its reduced lines and i didn't think the difference would be noticable, but its amazing what 3 little drops each day can do! Even if you are not getting lack of sleep its great if you naturally get dark circles or lines under your eyes too. Be really careful not to get any in your eyes! I found out the hard way and it stings very badly. If you do make sure that you instantly wash out your eye with warm water.
