I should probably start by saying the above picture is not of the product!! Not really sure what that is all about. Vichy is a brand that I came across initially while I was living in Italy. I like its products and I find them to be of a high quality. I am aware that my skin is starting to age and that I need to use something different on the eye area if I am to look as young as possible for as long as possible.
What does the product do?
The product has been specifically designed for use on the delicate skin of the eye area. The product promises to reduce the appearance of wrinkles by filling in fine lines and giving the skin a smoother appearance. It claims to tone and nourish the skin, while brightening and tightening the skin. After using the product continually for two months, you should see a reduction in both your crows feet and under eye wrinkles. It sounded like it was well worth a shot!!
How do you use the product?
You need to dispense the product either directly onto the skin around the eye or onto your finger, and then onto the skin around the eye area. Depending on what works best with you. You can then very gently massage the product into the skin until it has been fully absorbed. The product comes with very specific instructions about using the product above the eye, beneath the eye and in the corners but I tend to just wack it on!
Packaging and Price
The product comes contains within a white plastic bottle which looks very expensive, if a little clinical. The product has a strange dispenser which is like a long tube and that allows you to be very precise with its application and that you are supposed to use to massage the product into the skin. It has a clear lid which helps to protect the product if you are carrying it around in the hand bag. The product doesn't come cheap, costing around £20 and the bottle contains 15ml of the cream. You can buy it from large department stores such as Boots and also from a variety of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product has a fairly thick and rich consistency and it is a pure white colour. As the product is thick, you need to ensure that you are only using a little bit each time or you will have to spend ages massaging it into the skin which could lead to you developing more wrinkles. If you do ensure that you only use a little bit, then the product is quite easily absorbed into the skin. It does leave a slightly greasy sheen on the skin which is visible but that can also be hidden by make up. You can feel it on the skin and it does leave me with a slightly unclean feeling, although this fades with time. It does make the skin feel hydrated straight and makes it feel softer.
As I am in my late twenties, I don't have many wrinkles other than one or two very fine lines so I can't comment on if it removes deep set wrinkles as I bought it as more of a preventative measure rather than a solution. The skin around my eye area feels more toned and the skin also looks brighter so I have found that my I look more awake after using the product. One thing that concerns me about this cream is that it contains Alcohol which is a really drying ingredient and a bit of a contridiction.
All in all, I think this cream is a bit too heavy and greasy for my skin. It did leave my eye area looking brighter and healthier, and feeling softer and smoother. I think this is better for dryer and older skins so I probably won't continue to use the product as it doesn't suit my needs.
