Having come to the end of my No7 eye make up remover, I was excited to try the new eye make up remover in my stash that I received in a set from my hubby this Christmas. Even more exciting was the YSL branding on this bottle. I was interested to see how it compared to my normal No7 brand (next bottle of No7 is standing by already!).
What is it?
A professional makeup-remover for smoky eyes Features a bi-phased formula that leaves no oily residue on skin The colourless upper phase eliminates impurities & resistant pigments of waterproof & long-lasting make-up The dewy bluish lower phase wraps skin in a pleasant freshness & suppleness
The bottle is clear plastic with a white lid - very similar to the No7 bottle actually. This bottle looks half empty but it's just an illusion as the top half of the liquid in the bottle is clear and you shake it to mix with the bright blue bottom half. Upon opening the lid, the top has a small hold that you can drip out on to a cotton wool pad. This makes for very economical use which is good when you take the price of this product in to consideration.
I have found this very effective to remove my eye make up, even the waterproof stuff. It is oily when you apply it but doesn't leave your skin greasy at all once it is dry. It also doesn't make my eyes go blurry which I have experienced with some oil based eye make up removers. I find you only need a tiny amount to do each eye and I tend to use this at the beginning and end of the day.
I've been wearing eye make up every day just recently as I have found my dream mascara from the No7 range so this does require something decent to remove it at the end of the day. I also use a tiny amount the next morning to ensure my skin is clean before starting again. I have to remember to shake it up to mix the contents so you get an equal amount of the remover and conditioner. This feels lovely on my lashes and also seems to moisturise the eye area and give that delicate skin some condition.
I got this in a set so am not sure what it would work out as but I have seen it on Amazon for sale at just over £30 for 100ml which is quite expensive for an eye make up remover.
Whilst it is costly, I have to say it is also a very good eye make up remover. The packaging is all plastic so not exactly premium but it does make it pretty safe and robust for travel. I have enjoyed using this YSL eye make up remover and am happy with the results but I also have to say I am equally happy with the No7 equivalent and with the price difference will continue to buy and use No7 in the future. This bottle from YSl will last me many months yet as I also use a cream cleanser to remove make up as well as this for my eye area.
