When we had a warm summer, which does not happen very often, I was in desperate need of a fan. My house is like an oven in the warm heat, even with all the windows open. As I work from home on the computer, where I do spend a lot of my time, I needed one that would sit just nicely on my computer unit, or maybe a clip on one.
So I went for a trip to Morrison's and had a look there. And luckily I saw this fan, I was glad because it was the last one there, so I grabbed it and thought for £10 it won't be great but it should at least do the job I need it for.
So I took it home, and removed it from the box. Everything was already assembled on it, and it was just ready to clip on to my computer desk. This will not just stand up on it's own, it does need to be clipped on to some sort of edge. The clip is on a spring and can be a little hard to open up at first, but it does tend to loosen up, after you have used it a few times.
Once it is clipped on, just plug it and you are ready to go. It is easy to operate, there is a switch at the back, you just slide that along, and it will turn on. Put the switch back to the middle to turn off again. There is two different speed settings, which are controlled by the switch. Each side of the switch has a different setting, with the off button been in the middle. I did not notice much difference in the speed though, so I just used either setting.
It also has a movable head, so that you can move the fan in the right place for it to blow the air to. This does move up or down quite a bit. Or you can move it to the side, but you can only move it slightly to the side. I think this would be better if you could move it further, but it does the job.
I would recommend this to buy as for £10 it was well worth the money,. And it did cool me down a lot in the summer months. The only thing wrong with this, was the dirt that it attracts. It gets dust on the propellers which I have found quite hard to clean. As the holes in the fan are only small. So I do still;l have dust on them, but I will find a way to clean then, now that it is not in use any more. This was a bargain in my eyes.
Keeping cool in the summer can be a bit of a nightmare especially in Britain where we get that horrible heat, you know the one, no sun just humidity. I find myself sitting some days/nights with the windows open but still feeling far too hot especially when I am slumped in my high backed leather computer chair but I have found the perfect gizmo to eliminate my problem.
The Q connect clip on fan with its 6 inch blades just clips on to the side of my computer desk and almost silently keeps me feeling very cool. It has a retail price of £24.99 but can be bought much cheaper, I bought mine from a local office supply shop for £9.99 and I am so glad I did; now my time on the computer is a cool and enjoyable time rather than a hot and sweaty one.
The little fan has a good feel and look to it and I believe it will be fairly durable and have no worries about it packing in on me anytime soon. So if you are finding it a bit hot and sticky this summer then grab yourself one of these little beauties!
