Snazaroo Temporary Girl Tattoos
by emmad5689
My daughter had been to a party last year where they had put some temporary tattoos on the children with parental permission of course. My daughter thought the tattoos were great so I decided to buy her some as a stocking filler for this Christmas.
I bought the tattoos from Amazon and they cost just over £5 with free delivery ... which I didn't think was too bad and to be honest I haven't really seen any other decent tattoos on sale anywhere just cheap ones.
The tattoos came packaged in a see through plastic wrapper which is sealed at one end and can be resealed for a couple of times although the stickiness does wear off pretty fast. On the front of the packet the name of the brand which is Snazaroo is written in very bright lettering and then the words 50 tattoos is written in mirror silver effect so it is very bright and attractive.
Inside the pack you get 7 individual squares about 1.5 inches each containing one tattoo each, there is then a range of other sized sheets with a different number of tattoos on each of differing sizes. The tattoos are all pretty colours and have glittery effects to them too which makes them extra special and my daughter loves the glitter, there are loads of different pictures such as fairies, butterflies, flowers and little animals such as lizards and dolphins along with lots of extra little one of a kind pictures.
To use the tattoos you have to cut around them if they are on a multiple sheet and then remove the plastic covering from the top, place the tattoo against the skin and then place a wet cloth over the top for 30 seconds. Once soaked peel back the backing very slowly as if you have missed a bit and you pull it off too fast you are unable to place it back down to complete the tattoo. The full instructions for use are on the back of every single sheet which I think is really good then you can't lose the instructions and there is also a list of ingredients on each one too.
The tattoos are easy to use and they do literally only take the 30 seconds it states in the instructions, the tattoos are nice and bright and they stay so even once they are on the skin and the tattoos last on the skin about 3-4 days before they start to wear as long as the child leaves them alone of course. My daughter has spent the time since Christmas putting one of these on nearly every day and I can see we are going to have a fight next week when she goes back to work and she is not allowed to put them on.
The tattoos haven't caused any irritation and my daughter has suffered with eczema since she was born on and off. I would highly recommend these tattoos as would my daughter they are a decent price, pretty and colourful, quick to apply and they come off with a little scrub too. Read the complete review |

Jake and the Never Land Pirates Talking Sword
by xmum2threex
**The sword**
My children all love Jake and the never land pirates, and as we had the dress up outfit with a sword before, I knew a talking version would be well received. I paid £10 for this cutlass from the Disney store. The cutlass is made of really thick plastic and resembles the one from the TV series well. It has all the ... detailing perfectly marked on the cutlass so it is instantly recognisable to any Jake and the never land pirates fan. It is a good size so it makes a decent size gift, but still not too large so that it would be difficult for a child to carry. The batteries were all ready provided with the toy so there was no need to set it up, we simply had to take the cardboard packaging off and it was ready to use.
The thing that makes this cutlass different to the one we received with the dressing up outfit is that there is a small button to be pressed. It is very small in size, and as it is the same colour as the rest of the sword it does not stand out so my children had to search for it at first. My son was playing with this for a good ten minutes before he actually found the button. It was nice to see the look on his face when he realised not only could he have a sword fight with his brother, but he also had the advantage of Jake talking to him. It is not so loud that it becomes annoying for parents, but still has enough volume for children to be happy. It can be heard over the chatter of my children while they are playing, and as there is a button that needs to be pressed the toy is not one that will make me jump while I am tidying up.
**In use**
The sword itself is a really good size, and it does look a little big being carried around by my two year old son. It is recommended for three years plus but I am happy for my son to play with it under supervision. It does feel and look a little too plastic. I was actually expecting it to be a little heavier than it was because it looks large. It is made of plastic but it is definitely hollow, and you can tell this just by picking it up as there is hardly any weight to it at all. This does not make it less durable. As you would expect with excited pirates it has been dropped a number of times on both carpet and wooden flooring without any change to the quality at all.
The button is tucked up right at the top of the handle right next to where it meets the main sword. It is a small round button, but once found it is easy to press even while holding the cutlass in your hand at the same time. That means my son can play with the sword as he wants, and if he wants to activate the sound it is simple to do. There are around six or seven different phrases that will all be recognised by any Jake fan. The handle is large enough to be held comfy, and provides enough grips for when my boys are jumping around. All the phrases are from Jake himself so if you child likes the other characters they may be disappointed. We have found that a lot of the merchandise is Jake branded rather than the whole never land pirate crew which can be a problem when your children like any other character than the main one.
There is a small sticker on the handle to show that it is Jake and the never land pirate branding. I'm not sure it was needed as you can instantly tell it is a copy from the TV show, but I suppose it may be a nice extra for children to see Jake peeping up at them. The problem with this is within a week the sticker began to peel making the cutlass look old. I washed the rest of the sticker off as I have young children around the house and it could be a choking hazard. This has left the sword unbranded, but it does look a whole lot better.
**Summary**
All of my three eldest children at 5, 4 and 2 do use this sword, but it is something that gets occasional use. They may use it if they decide to dress up as Jake, or as they are watching the programme on the TV but generally it is used for short periods of time. It is great for role play and a great boost for the imagination when it is used. It seems to have limited appeal as it does not do that much but for £10 I still think it receives a fair amount of use. It is instantly recognisable by Jake and the Never land pirate fans, so it would be a lovely gift idea for any fan. Read the complete review |
