Spiderman Classic Muscle Costume

At one time you wouldn't see my son without him wearing a costume, he was always wearing his pirate get up, or his Captain Hook costume (complete with Brian May wig!), just to hang around the house in!
After being invited to a fancy dress halloween party a few years ago, and him getting too big for his satin Hook trousers ... (splitting them down the seams!), i decided that he could do with a new costume, and i let him pick himself, so when he spotted this Spiderman costume he really wanted it (and my husband loved it too!).
The costume comes in two pieces, the main body costume, and the hood/mask.
The body part is a step into costume, that fits quite snuggly, but does strech enough for the child to not feel restricted when wearing it.
The fastening strip is at the back, so the child almost seems to put it on back to front, then can be securly fastened with the heavy duty velcro strip that runs down the entire back panel of the costume.
Once on the costume gives the illusion that the child wearing it has fantastic chest and arm muscles, with this being courtesy of a well padded and rounded section on the upper part, my son adored this part, strutting round the house wearing it pretending to flex his muscles!
On the chest there is a small button that the child can press which makes a small spider made up of tiny lights flash for a few seconds, this really doesn't add anything to the costume, and didn't really last that long, and when the battery did run out didn't deter my son from wearing the costume.
The mask is made from a very thin and light material, with nose and eye holes, and fastens with a small velcro strip on the back, this literally stays on (through choice!) for about 2 minutes, them my son's urge to talk and eat is too great and he perches it on top of his head, it does look good when being worn, but doesn't detract from the costume when they inevitably take it off.
When it is on it really does look effective, being the trademark blue and red, and covered with plenty of web detailing, it gives the illusion that even though the person wearing the costume is a midget (child sized! Lol!), it is proportion with the muscles as a mini man!
The costume is comfortable to be worn for long periods of time (which it has been!), and though isn't machine washable, is fine to be sponged down to remove any stains.
This was a really good buy, though did find that it was quite dear to buy (£20.00), but in hindsight has lasted him for a few years now (though he can't do the velcro up anymore!), with him even now having a wear of it!

Spiderman Classic Muscle Costume

I bought this costume for my eldest son when he had a 'favourite character' dress up day in school, this costume was entirly his choice and he was adament that he wanted to be a muscley Spiderman!
It's a very cool little costume, it has the usual Spiderman colours of red and blue with the black web lines over it, and the ... Spiderman symbol in the middle of the chest. It has the added bonus of having bicep muscles, chest muscle and a little six pack! It is a full body costume and the mask is a separate piece, it is all a lycra like material that allows it to slip on and off with ease.
Up the back you will find a velcro strip allowing you do do the costume up.
The muscles are a great little feature. They are amply padded but this doesn't cause any restriction in movement.
When my son put it on, it was an absolute nightmare trying to get him to take it off!! He wore it all day and even to bed! Luckily it can be thrown in the washing machine and it dries really quickly hung over a radiator.
I believe to have paid in the region of £15 for this and it's available on amazon priced at £17.25.
The only thing that lets this down is that it didn't come with any gloves, not that it takes anything away from it but my son wanted gloves and I ended up buying a toy set with the gloves included!
This costume has gone through the 3 of my children, although it is still a little too big for my youngest!
It comes in different sizes ~ 3 - 5 years and 5 - 7 years (I think).
In all I think this is a great little costume for any Spiderman fan, it's nice and soft to wear and the muscles make it all the more fun!
It has been worn and washed numerous times and it is still in great condition now, although the muscle padding does need a little rearranging after washing.

Spiderman Classic Muscle Costume

My son got this Spiderman costume for christmas and stayed in it all day!
His is age 3-5 but it is really long in the leg length. It is an all in one costume and the background colour is blue. It has red webbing from the knees down and the torso and arms are mostly webbing. There is an image of a large black spider in the ... centre of the chest.
There are padded muscles in the chest area and going down the centre of the tummy to the waist. There are also muscles on the arms, the padding is soft and my son loved flexing his arm muscle, they are quite realistic! The outfit is made from 100% polyester.
There is velcro on the back for getting in and out of the outfit.
It also comes with a mask. It is completely red with black webbing and also has velcro at the back to keep it in place. It has the black and white ringed eyes but no mouth. There are 2 small nostril holes. One of the problems I found with the mask was that the eye and nostril holes didn't match up. If my son could see through the eyes then he couldn't breathe through the nose and vice versa. Maybe he just has an odd shaped head but I've never noticed before!
Because the costume is all in one it was very awkward for my son to take off. The velcro was too tricky for him to reach so everytime he needed a wee we had to take the whole ting off and just leave it on his ankles.
Due to the padding in this suit the child gets very hot but there isn't a lot they can do about it. At the end of the day if a child is active whilst wearing the suit they are bound to get hot and sweaty, just don't make the mistake of letting your child wear it to an indoor play centre like I did, he was just a puddle of sweat!
The costume is machine washable at 40 but it did start to bobble after the first couple of washes.
This costume is great fun for any child who wants to be a superhero, I have found a couple of problems with it but nothing major, and for the fun he has had out of it I would definately buy it again.
