McDonalds Drive Thru Food Cart Playset
by aksram Drive thru McDonalds playset- it is one of the strangest toy set my kid has. It is weird that kid's fancy working at the drive thru. When I asked my kid what he wanted for his birthday, he said this playset. So got his from ToysRUs for £39.99. Needless to say that it has a big yellow M on it-trademark of McDonalds. It is made ... of plastic and easy to clean and maintain. Dimensions- 75(l) x 35(w) x 90(h) cm It has a mic for taking orders, a cash register attached to it, a peep window for taking orders/ giving food, a pullout bin to throw empty glasses/boxes. On the other side of the window, there is a deep fryer with a wire basket for frying chips/nuggets, grill for grilling burgers, ice-cream and drink dispenser. Below is a storage space for storing pretend food. it is ideal for storing any other toys too. It comes flat packed in a box and it took us a while to assemble it. the box included instructions and a spanner/tool to fix all its parts. The playset comes with pretend food- like fries, burgers, lettuce, happymeal box, milkshake/drink glass, and some cutlery. It works with batteries and makes real cooking sounds. I have to say that my kid really likes it- I wasn't keen on buying this- thought play kitchen made more sense but now I am not regretting buying this. Since it has the cooking unit and some other things to go with it, it seems more like kitchen come drive through in set. 2in 1. Only that I wouldn't like my kid to work in one of these!!! McDonalds Drive Thru Food Cart Playset
by MikeBorry I love this cute little playset, I was quite lucky to have one free from freecycle when my middle son was about 2yrs old and I have since bought another for my littley who had it last Christmas. I bought it from Toys'R'Us for £49.99. It is more or less like a play kitchen type toy. It has all the familiar Macdonalds ... logo's/pictures etc. and a big M on the top. It has opening shutter windows in the little hatch, allowing you to serve your customers. 'I'll have a cheese burger and ice cream please' '£100 please' 'How much???!!!' On the back side there's a little grill, fryer, drink dispenser, fridge, cupboard, till and various little hooks for hanging spatulas etc.. And in the front it has a little opening bin! Having just looked at the toys'r'us site (for the price, still £49.99) I noticed it says for ages 8+, In my opinion I don't think an 8yr old would fit behind there to be honest! It's more 3+ I would say. It's quite a little neat compact playset that can be stored away in a corner without taking up much room. It comes with lot's of different food items and cooking utensils. The food Macdonalds food items can however be bought seperatly. I bought a big set, that came in a fry packet shaped box for £8 last year, just in case you want extras. It has some lovely little features and my kids loved it. It's in the typical Macdonalds colours of red and yellow and it looks quite cheery. It even has realistic cooking sounds! It takes 2 AA batteries. It even comes with a little Macdonalds cap! And a head phone speaker thingy. Quite cute!! Read the complete review |

Marks & Spencer Shopping Till Set
by blonde_girl774 My friend's daughter turned four last week and, as a dutiful friend, I gave up my Saturday afternoon to attend a birthday party surrounded by snotty and whingeing children! As her latest obsession is "playing shop" (my friend's daughter, not my actual friend!) I decided to buy her a somewhat educational present along with the ... usual bags of chocolate and exciting yet very messy toys I tend to buy - you can tell I don't have children! While browsing in Marks and Spencer I saw a shopping till set priced quite reasonably at only £10.00 and decided it would be a great gift... and one that my friend wouldn't feel the need to lecture me on about buying responsible presents! The shopping till set comes in a box which allows you to see the contents clearly. The box was quite an impressive size (something that's rather important to children) and it was sturdily packaged. Inside the box was a small till with a fully functioning cash drawer and a small electronic display which lets you type prices in and conduct simple calculations. There was also a range of food products made of plastic that looked semi realistic, about twelve in total, and a red plastic basket so you could "enact" the whole shopping process from start to finish. In addition to this there was some plastic money in the form of coins (about thirty) and also some notes too. The till set is suitable for children over the age of four, presumably due to the small coins that come with the till. In terms of educational value I'd say this is a really good idea, not only does it teach children about the basics of shopping but the food items are all priced very cheaply indeed so it would be a great way to introduce children to the idea of adding up amounts and subtracting to find the change value. By the time I left my friend's house her daughter had already grasped the idea of adding up the different amounts (although £700 seemed a little expensive for some peas and soup) and the idea of giving change (I got 2p so it was a really expensive shop)! There's not really much else I can say about the till set, it works a treat and my friend's daughter absolutely loves it! I'm not sure the rest of her family do as they've been forced to "play shop" every night since I bought the gift! All the props look as realistic as plastic sausages possibly can look, the money seems quite sturdy and the electronic display works like a calculator (with only the very basic add and subtract functions). It's an ideal gift to any child who enjoys playing shop and I think it'd be a hit with any child! The price seemed quite reasonable for what you were getting and I'd certainly recommend this to anyone out there... a possible Christmas present?! Thanks for reading! Read the complete review |
