“ Brand: Argos / Type: Shopping „
I got my mother in law to buy this for my 2 year old daughter for Christmas. It was in Argos as part of their '2 for £15' mix and match offer. Most kids love emulating what Mummy and Daddy do in their everyday lives and this toy is a great way for them to have their very own supermarket at home. It came in a cardboard box. Inside is the basket, 4 wheels and lots of food accessories. The wheels clip onto the frame at the bottom of the basket easily and all the food fits inside the trolley for easy storage. I am a little disappointed with the quality of the product. The plastic is thin and cheap looking. The wheels don't touch the floor properly which means that when it is being pushed they don't actually spin round. This means it is just be shunted along the carpet rather than gliding as it should. Although there are a couple of plastic food pieces (chicken and a carton of eggs) most of the accessories are cardboard boxes. There are about 20 boxes but they only actually advertise 3 different products, this isn't good for my daughter setting up her supermarket at home, she wants different products to buy not several of the same things. Over time the boxes have got a little squashed and started to come undone. Eventually these will just go in the bin. I would have preferred a few less items but of a different type e.g. plastic tins and packets and some fruit and veg would have been nice. Although my daughter plays with this, it doesn't provide the anticipated shopping experience. On reflection I've seen a metal Casdon trolley in our local Toymaster for around £12.00, it looks far more like a real one and much sturdier too so I think this would've been a better buy.
The product: This product is a child's pretend play shopping trolley, it is made out of plastic and the handle can be folded down for easy storage. It also Includes 30 pieces of plastic play food and cardboard box food packets. My daughter has had a plastic shopping trolley since she was about 2 years old, she is now almost 6 and she still gets lots of fun from it. This is one of those toys, the kids just never seem to get bored of. This trolley fixes together very easily. The plastic it is made from is strong but also very lightweight. When I bought this item a while back, I was very shocked to find that on the side of the packaging it says that this trolley is a girls toy. I bought one of these for my group of children at work a while back and they love it. From my experience, I find that the boys like to play wiuth this more than the girls. I filed a complaint to Argos, but I didnt receive a reply! They need to get with the times; it's not even as if it is a stereotypical item such as a Barbie pink hoover! Although this shopping trolley is recommended for children aged 3 years and above, through my experience as a child care worker, I have found that children aged 2 love to play with this the most, as at this age children enjoy putting the food items (and anything else then can get their little paws onto) into and out of the trolley. As long as the children are supervised, I really don't see any problem with under 3's playing with it. The bad point: Unfortunately many of the food items are cardboard boxes which don't last very long in the soggy jaws of a child! Size: (H)50, (W)22, (D)39.5cm. Recommended for ages 3 years and over due to small parts. Cost: The great thing about this shopping trolley is that it is only £9.99 and it is in the two toys for £15 offer in Argos and they are in stock, I have just ordered two online for Christmas gifts, I'm very eager to see if they have changed the wording on the packaging! Grab yourself a bargain!
Like most children my children love to play make believe and as they have, a shopping until I thought a good item to buy them would be a shopping trolley. After looking around there are loads out, I wanted one that was unisex as I have a one-year-old son and I like to be able to pass as many of the girls toys on to him as I can. I saw the trolley in the Argos catalogue and thought it was just what I was looking for and the fact that it included play food was an added bonus. I checked online to see if my local store had the trolley in stock as they did I, reserved it making sure that when I got to the store they still had it. I paid £9.99 for my trolley but at the minute, there is an offer of two for £15 and the trolley is one of the toys included in this. The trolley did need putting together; I believe this was very simple as my husband did it with out swearing or asking for my help. The trolley comes with 30 pieces of play food, some of these are plastic things like hot dogs, cheese and eggs and the other ones are min cardboard boxes of cereals, dog food and many other things. I did find after some playing the boxes started to fall to bits but the plastic food is still going strong 6 months on. The trolley it self is very brightly coloured, red, blue and yellow and my children find it easy to push. I would say it is the perfect size for my little girl who is nearly three, though my one year old does have a go at pushing it and apart from steering, he manages it with it. I am very please with the quality of this trolley, the plastic very strong and I believe it will last my children some time. Overall, this is a great role-play toy at a great price, just a shame it was not on offer when I brought it or I would have got two.
This is a great little shopping trolley for your child you can buy it for £9.99 from Argos. There are other ones out there like the Barbie one, but because there branded there slightly more in price. It is suitable for children 3 years and over. The trolley comes with over 30 pieces of play food some being plastic like the hot dog banana, cheese and grapes etc. Then the rest being small boxes just like your average cereal box but shrunken down they are made out of cardboard and have lots of detail on them so they look realistic. These make great play for your child and they will love putting them in there trolley. My girls also love playing shops with them there favourite piece of food they got with it are the eggs, because they come in a small clear egg box similar to ones you can get in the supermarket. The actual shopping trolley is a decent size, my girls are just turning three and it is just the right size for them to walk round with it. When you get the shopping trolley you need to put it together which is very simple. You just need to slot the four blue wheels onto the yellow trolley legs, then the red trolley basket clips on top of the legs, and then you fix the blue handle on it is very easy. Taking it apart is also simple so it can easily be folded down for storage. The shopping trolley is made out of very strong plastic so won't easily break. Your child will have hours of fun pushing it around and keeping themselves active. It is also very good for role play and learning new foods
