Disadvantages: Small
I'm a huge cath kidston fan and am forever browsing her website looking dreamingly at the gorgeous-but-overpriced products. I recently (2/3 weeks ago) discovered this little purse, which wasn't too badly priced at £4; £4 for a cath kidston purse is an absoloute steal!
The purse is aimed at kids - presumabley little girls as i can't imagine a little boy walking around with this particular product in tow! I don't particulary think it's obvious that it's a child product (apart from the ridiculously tiny size.)
Is the time i purchased it, it was available in 2 colours; red with white spots or white with pink roses. I chose the red. The purse has a silver coloured metal (or plastic, i'm not sure) clasp ontop of it.
The purse is oil cloth so is easy to wipe if it gets dirty and it overall has a nice feel to it.
The size of this purse is actually tiny! It's 6 by 6 centermeters and can fit around 4 or 5 2p/pound coins in and around 8/9 5p coins if you try extremely hard to get them all in as neatly as possible.
In the end i gave up trying to use this as a coin purse as it simply wasn't big enough and was extremely fiddly. I ended up giving it to my niece, who's 6. She loved it and puts a bit of her pocket money in when going out with her mum and she really enjoys it as she thinks it looks girly etc, so i'm glad she got use out of it. The only downside is that although i could open the metal clasp with ease, it did confuse my niece a bit as she's used to zips and buttons, but she's now used to it. Although she's only six, even she finds it small and has commented that it's 'not big enough' for all of her coins. It's definetly not ideal for an easily frustrated child.
Overall, if this is a present for a child i'd reccomend it, however i'd be wary that the child may get upset if they can't fit as much as they'd like into it. For £4 it does seem like a good buy, but for the size of the product i don't think it's worth it overall - you're paying for the brand name, not the actual product.
As a coin purse for an adult this is out of the question unless you only store £3/£4 in it at a time. It could also be used to store bus tickets.
