My daughter requested a Cinderella dress for her birthday. I decided to get her Cinderella dress from The Disney Store as they tend to look nicer and are better quality than most costume dresses that can be bought elsewhere (I also prefer to buy 'authentic' Disney products). I ordered it online and naturally had to add on a few extras which included a matching Cinderella wand, shoes and tiara!
The headband of the tiara is made from plastic which is covered over with silver thread. This thread makes the headband look nicer but also provides some padding so the plastic isn't too hard on the head. On the end of the headband are hair grips which slide through the hair to keep the tiara in place. The tiara is recommend for children 3+ years (probably due to small beads and feathers) and comes in one size. My daughter is 6 years old and it fits her head perfectly. The headband has some stretch in it so it's likely to fit children of all ages. The headband (all around) is covered in pretty white fluffy feathers. On top are silver, white and blue beads which make the tiara look very grand indeed. The beads are threaded on to thin metal wires which are bendable, this allows you to bend and move the tiara around. I found this quite strange at first but have come to realise it's a great idea as it makes the tiara very robust. Previous tiaras, made from solid plastic, have snapped within days. In the middle of the tiara is a beautiful heart shaped 'diamond' with a picture of Cinderella in the middle.
The Cinderella Tiara is very pretty and is sure to please all young girls. My daughter was thrilled to receive it (along with her dress) and wanted to wear it right away! My daughter is quite fussy about what she wears on her head (too hard, too itchy etc) but is more than happy to wear her Cinderella tiara. It's a lovely finishing touch to the Cinderella dress and the colour/design matches perfectly. It's a fun little accessory that can be used at home for playing and dressing up with, or even worn out to jazz up a party outfit!
The one and only downside of the tiara is that my daughter finds that it starts to 'dig in' to her head after a while. She normally wears it for up to an hour before complaining about it.
My daughter loves her pretty Cinderella tiara and always wears it when wearing her Cinderella dress (and sometimes without her Cinderella dress!). It's pretty, robust and at a reasonable £6.00, there's not much to dislike!
