I've got two daughters, aged 4 & 3 and have so far managed to successfully evade the whole Disney Princess phenomenon, apart from a few bits and bobs here and there that have slipped through the net. Neither of my daughters has been thrust with the notion that 'you are a girl so you must want to be a Disney Princess'. However, recently my eldest has started school and has been mixing with miniature Princesses who have Princess lunch boxes, Princess drinks, Princess hair bobbles, Princess gloves, Princess shoe bags...you get the idea; so she has obviously made friends with children who are Disney Princess mad, and consequently developed a liking for pretty, fluffy Princess-like things.
These shoes are something she plays with whenever she visits her friend's house, and they are something she really wanted for Christmas...so I gave in, and when I saw them in B&M Bargains for £10, I was pretty chuffed to be honest because I have only ever seen them for about £18 in other stores.
==Shoes?....With Heels....For Children...???==
In the set you get 4 pairs of plastic shoes, in red, pink, yellow and blue. The shoes are slip-ons with open toes and a small heel (about an inch) - the heel is in my opinion too high for young children, but what can you do? Each shoe has a disc on the toe with a different Princess on, I recognise Snow White and Cinderella, but who the other two are I have no idea, but I presume most Princess lovers would know straight away who they are! And this disc has a frill around it; this frill is the only part of the shoe that is not plastic. To be honest, I really quite like the look of the shoe, and I think they would have really appealed to me when I was a kid, the bright colours and the clear plastic just has some quality that I like.
==Are They Wearable?==
When my daughter opened these on Christmas Day, she was so excited and so I was pleased that I went against my principles and bought her the shoes. Both my children have since worn them quite regularly about the house when they are dressing up, and even when they are not dressing up, they just like to wear the shoes 'because they can'. The recommendation on the box is for age 3 and above and I would agree with that. My 3 year old can get them on and off with no problems, although she struggles to walk around in them, but practise makes perfect and she is getting better, but she really has to concentrate when she is walking about, and has often cockled over (I blame the heels). My 4 year old however has mastered the art of tottering about in her high heels and very rarely falls, she can even run about in them, which is one of the funniest things I have ever seen - arms in the air, feet taking baby steps and clattering about the house. She's like a little old lady.
The downstairs in our house is predominantly laminate floor, and this was a worry to me before we bought the shoes because I was worried about the girls slipping and sliding, but I have noticed that on the underside of the shoes there is a small rubber grip on the heel and the front part has a textured section to allow for better grip. And I think this worked because neither of the girls have slipped, yet, and they do tend to run about in them.
And despite the shoes being plastic, the girls do not seem to have any discomfort when wearing them, I first thought the plastic would dig into their soft skin, but to be honest they wear socks most of the time when wearing the shoes, and they only usually wear them for 10 minutes at a time so they don't have time to get blisters.
So although my first thoughts were that they would be difficult to walk in, slippery, and harsh on their feet, they have proved to be none of these things; I actually think they have been quite well designed and I (as well as the girls) have been really pleased with them.
I think these shoes are great, they are perfect for what the girls want them for, fairly easy to walk in, and well designed and constructed. They also look pretty and come in a handy cardboard shelving unit, and the fact they come in a pack of four means my kids can share them with their friends when they come to play. I have to admit I wouldn't pay £18 for them, but for £10 I am very impressed.
I would recommend them for girls (or boys!) aged 3 and above, I reckon by the time they reach about 6 years old they may start to outgrow them.
I have seen these in Asda & Tesco for around £18, but they are sometimes included in various offers. The cheapest I have seen them is B&M Bargains for £10, and that was in December last year (2011).
My little girl just turned three years old and she loves dressing up at the moment. I purchased a few Disney Princess dresses from Ebay for her christmas and really wanted to get her the shoes to match.
I purchased the Disney princess shoe box set from Tesco as they were on sale at the time around £9.99 reduced from £19.99. The shoes come in a strong cardboard box that is decorated with the Disney Princesses on them. The box is shaped like a wardrobe with a plastic carry handle at the top. I was please how strong the box was as I have kept it she she has to tidy the shoes back up after playing and gives her somewhere to store them.
The box measures roughly 20 inches tall and can be neatly stored in a corner out the way.
You get four pairs of play Princess shoes. We have hot pink shoes for the Aurora character. Red Snow white shoes, yellow Belle shoes and lastly light blue Ariel shoes.
These shoes are all the same size age 3-6 years. They are made from strong hard plastic and are slightly shaped for the right and left foot. The colours are nice and bright, each shoes is sparkly with glitter inside the plastic. The shoes are decorated with an image of the Princesses and either ribbon or feathers around the plastic badge.
The heal is 4 cm high.
The shoes do not fit my daughter but she can clop about in them happily without tripping over or going over her ankle. They are fantastic quality and wont be wrecked anytime soon. The shoes go lovely with her Princess dresses.
My daughter truly loves the shoes had has them on most days but not for any length of time as they are not comfortable being hard plastic but still fun to play in. My daughters friends come to play and have the shoes on too.
I think mostly little girls who love to dress up or try on mummy's shoes, would love these play princess shoes and as they are good quality I do recommend them. These are an official Disney product.
I am a part time child minder and look after my niece and nephew, while their mum goes out to work three days a week and it's good to keep something in the house for them to play with as they are over around at mine so much.
As I have said in other reviews, my little niece (aged 4) loves dressing up and playing princess, one of her favourite 'go to' items in her fancy dress closet is her Disney Shoes, because like most ladies out there, she has already developed a real keen love of shoes and all things pretty.
This shoe set comes with 5 different pairs of little high heel (well only a little heel about 1 inch high if even) shoes, they are all made from plastic and don't look that comfortable to wear, however they are only for inside use, to put on with her lovely dress up costumes, such as her Belle outfit or her Sleeping Beauty outfit (and this year I am getting her a little Snow White outfit as she is beginning to grow out of her Sleeping Beauty one).
The 5 shoes are:
A yellow pair for Belle, from Beauty and the Beast
A green pair for Tiana, from the Princess and the Frog
A Red pair for Snow White, from Snow White
A Blue pair for Cinderella, from Cinderella
A Purple pair for Ariel, from The Little Mermaid
Each of the shoes are open toed sandal typed shoes and have no back on them, which makes my niece quite wobbly in them sometimes when she is walking, though she has yet to lose her balance in them, we are always careful to watch her when she is playing with them.
They are quite lovely shoes though, they are very princess like and each shoe has a picture a Princess on them, depending on their colour and also two ends of a bow with little sparkly sequences stick out from each side of the picture, they are so cute.
The shoes are one size fits all, I am not sure what size exactly they are, but I know that they are quite big on my 4 year old niece's feet, though because they are sandal like shoes, she still manages to walk ok in them.
This shoe set is a bit expensive, it costs in around £30 for it online and you can get it for a similar price in the Disney Stores, they are not worth the money that was spent on them, but I can't argue with the fact that my niece dresses up and plays with them loads so at least the money wasn't completely wasted.
Overall these are really lovely shoes, there is a lovely range of different colours and characters within this shoe set and my niece really enjoys playing with them, though I am sure that you can buy almost similarly nice dress up shoes that do not have a Disney Brand attached for much cheaper, these are still quite a nice buy. Overall I would give them a 3 out of 5.

Like many parents I use a sticker reward chart for my daughter, and going through a tricky non eating patch a few months ago I decided to change it from receiving a sticker for good behaviour to receiving one for eating her tea. After a couple of weeks the chart was filled and so it was time to let her choose a treat. While shopping in Asda there was a range of toys discounted and one of them was a set of Disney Princess shoes, and as she is such a huge fan of them she asked straight away if she could buy them.
I was initially wary about buying the princess shoes as they have small heels and I don't really like the idea of young children wearing heeled shoes but after much persistence and almost a paddy from my daughter I decided to let her have them.
The set of shoes come in a tall shoe holder and each pair of shoes have their own individual shelf. The shoe holder is made out of strong reinforced cardboard and has a plastic handle at the top so the child can carry the set around easily. The box is covered in pictures of the Disney Princesses so it is quite appealing and looks nice on display. There are four pairs of shoes in the set:
Red - Snow White
Yellow - Belle
Blue - Cinderella
Pink - Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
Three of the pairs have a fluffy pom pom type of thing on the top of the shoe and in the middle of that you will find a picture of the princess. The fourth pair has a ribbon rosette on featuring that princess. The shoes are made from plastic which is quite rigid and have a thick plastic heel which is approximately an inch high. It is so simple for a child to put the shoes on themselves as they are slip ons so no help is required at all.
When my daughter wore a pair of the shoes for the first time she was quite wobbly at walking in them as she has never tried any heels on before (I live in trainers!!) but after a few slips over in them she soon got used to the style of walking in them. As she was walking she sounded like she was wearing a womans pair of heels as they make a loud clicking sound. My daughter is very lucky and does have most of the Disney Princess dress up outfits so she does have the dresses with which the shoes correspond so she can either match them up or wear different - which she seemed to do most of the time! I would say that the shoes are best worn without socks as when my daughter wore them with socks she was slipping all over in them and fell over quite a few times!
For the first week or so of having these shoes my daughter wore them most of the day, but now a couple of months down the line she rarely gets them out and just tends to wear the dress and go barefoot. I think the amount of times she went over on her ankle affected her confidence somewhat in wearing these shoes and she has since told me that they aren't very comfortable on her feet.
While the shoes themselves are quite sturdy, the decorations on them are a little flimsy and a couple of the shoes lost their fluff and picture quite quickly which is a shame. You can glue them back on should you so wish, but I found that even when using superglue it didn't make them stay on! As the shoes are made out of plastic they are easily cleaned by wiping them over with a damp cloth, but really as they are used inside we didn't find they needed much cleaning.
The Disney Princess shoes are for children age three and above and fit shoe sizes 9-12. The cost of the set does seem to vary depending on where you buy them from and can be priced between £10 and £20. As there are four pairs in the set it is a good play set for if there is more than one child so there'll be no arguments over who wears the shoes!!
Would I recommend the Disney Princess shoes? No, I don't think I would as I don't think they are completely safe for young children and personally I would rather they be flat shoes as I think children grow up so fast these days anyway, putting them in heels at the age of three is just too young. All in all I wish I had stuck with my initial doubt over buying them and chosen something that would have had much more use!
Thank you for reading my review.
For those of you who have just read my review on the Snow White costume, you will have learnt that my daughter was totally obsessed with dressing up as fairytale princesses and disney characters. She never wore normal clothes around the home. Choosing to run upstairs and putting on a dressing costume as soon as she came home from nursery school.
Of course, you can't be snow white or Cinderella, with trainers on. So I was keen to find shoes that would allow her to feel like a true princess. I remember having toy heeled shoes with jewels on when I was little and I adored them. (until the heel snapped off) So I was really keen to find my daughter shoes that would make her feel as special as I had.
I had bought some toy shoes in the disney store, but while I thought they were gorgeous and well made they were very expensive. So I needed to find an alternative shoe supplier.
I found these disney princess shoe giftset in my local Woolworth store. I was so thrilled to come across this beautifully presented, set of four pairs of disney dressing up shoes. I believe I paid around £13 for this set, which is almost what I was paying for one pair from the Disney store!!
Not only were the shoes the ultimate offering in girly princess fashion. I was also super impressed with the presentation box that the shoes are stored in. The box has a shelving design which allows each pair of shoes to be neatly displayed. The side of the box has the famous and highly popular disney princess design emblazoned on it. I found that my daughter was just as thrilled with the box as she was with the shoes. I found it to be very effective as the shoes could be stored neatly. This also gave my daughter a sense of pride in looking after the shoes and not leaving them strewn on her bedroom floor.
The shoes themselves were delightful. Very girly and suitable for even the most sugary of princesses. The disney princess shoes consisted of four pairs, these were snow white, aurora, cinderella and belle. All of the shoes were made from durable coloured plastic. To make the shoes more special they were individually decorated with feathers, bows and jewels.
I was pleased with the quality of these shoes. They certainly had a wow factor about them. They were of a very durable quality and withstood alot of wear. What I did find slightly disappointing was that the two feathery pairs of shoes lost alot of feathers rather quickly and in turn looked quite sparce and bald. But apart from this the shoes did last a very long time.
The sizing of the shoes is standard. However I would say that they are rather large and therefore there is loads of room for your childs foot to breathe. Due to the generous sizing of these shoes, I was pleased that this helped preventing rubbing or discomfort for my daughter.
Although these shoes are sturdy and durable, I wouldn't let my daughter wear them outside. I don't think these shoes are designed for outdoor use and may cause an injury. What I did find in regards to maintaining the look of the shoes is that they are easily kept clean with the wiping over of a damp cloth.
In conclusion, I would say that I feel these shoes were an excellent buy and well worth the money. My daughter had hours of pleasure from these shoes and an even longer use of the storage box as she put jewellery and stationary on each of the shelves well after the shoes had gone.
Another reason why I loved this set, was because there were enough pairs to be shared around when her friend came to tea. So this prevented any arguments or tears and tantrums. (have you ever tried to take a diamante princess slipper from a four year old??)
I think in reflection, that both me and my daughter were very pleased with this toy. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this set to anyone who has an inspiring princess.
My daughter got this boxset of disney princess shoes last christmas and she loves them!
The boxset comes with 4 pairs of princess shoes- Belle, Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Each pair is in a different colour and has lots of fluff on the front and an image of the princess in the centre of all the feathers.
The shoes are made of a sturdy plastic and have a heel of about 1 inch. The heel is quite thick and the shoes make a clip clop sound as you walk. My daughter thinks this is great as they are like proper high heels! The shoes are comfortable for her to walk in and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
The shoes come in a carry case which is made from a sturdy reinforced cardboard. It has 4 shelves to stack the shoes and also has a handle for carrying. The box is handy because it teaches the child to tidy up after using the shoes. The box is pink and has the images of all the princesses on the side.
These shoes are a lovely gift. The choice of 4 different shoes to wear is great for any little girl who has lots of dresses, also the variety means that she hasn't bored of these shoes yet.
The only problem that I have found with these shoes is that the plastic that goes over the foot is quite flimsy and on one pair has come off altogether. Also, the feathers and image of the princess has come off one of the shoes but we were able to glue it back together. However, considering the amount of wear my daughter and her friends have had out of them it isn't too bad!
The boxset cost me £12.99 at Toys'R'Us last christmas.
A few weeks ago Suri Cruise was in the news for wearing tiny heels but my sister has been playing with these cute heeled shoes for ages now! They are a set of 4 plastic play shoes, nothing you'd put a kid in to go to shops but there are a couple in this set that would pass as party shoes.
The shoes come in a girly Disney Princesses shoe box, it's only cardboard but is thick and is still in good condition and all the shoes fit nice in the box. Each shoe has got a picture of a princess and the shoe fits with the princess they've used, the Cinderella one's are my favourite and my sister wore them on Xmas Day.... they went wicked with her fairy outfit! They're dark red with a blue bow and it looks like my sister is dead comfortable in that pair.
The plastic of the shoes is quite hard and I've noticed my sister takes them off sometimes so I think they probably get uncomfortable after a bit. They're all shaped exactly the same so she's probably NOT more comfortable in the Cindarella shoes but they definately suit her the best!
The other princesses are Ariel, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. These ones are more girly looking in a way because they've got feathery trim and look a lot more FLUFFY. The princess heads must be stuck on with super glue because none have come off, I've just been to check and after nearly a year ALL the shoes are in wicked condition.
My sister wears them more now because they fit her feet perfect now she's 3, they've always been a bit big on her but because of the shape of the shoes they've never slipped up and down or made her look like she was going to break her ankle.
The heel on them is chunkier than it looks so it makes it stable for my sister to walk in, they're not high and I remember the first time she wore these shoes she tottered a bit for the first few steps but as soon as she got used to wearing them she was fine and has been ever since.
I reckon these shoes would go brill with the Disney Princesses dresses you can get, my sister hasn't got one but she's got a fancy dress party coming up at playgroup and I like the look of the Sleeping Beauty dress in the Disney shop!
At the end of October it was my niece's 4th birthday and I'd already decided to get her play shoes. When searching online I came across this Disney Princess set of 4 shoes and they seemed ideal for a young lady with a healthy interest in shoes already! I got the set from Toys R Us for £16.99.
A visit to Toys R Us is quite taxing for me, I don't get on with noise and don't have children through choice so hordes of over-excited children doesn't really appeal to me! I wandered to the Disney aisle and couldn't see these shoes so quickly found an assistant to help me so I could escape without my eardrums bursting! I tried to look at the size of girl's feet at the till but there were no girls of the right age so I took a chance these would fit.
The age given on these shoes is 3-8 so that's a wide age range and as my niece is small I wondered if these would be too big for her but it was too late to worry.
On the day I showed up with my gift and my niece ripped the paper off before handing the box to her Mum to take the clear front off. The clear front is held on with sellotape and she couldn't get it off herself. The actual box is pretty clever, girly pink and covered in Disney characters such as Snow White (so sorry if it isn't Snow White but as I don't have kids I don't keep up to date with Disney characters!!) and made from solid cardboard it also doubles as a shoe rack to keep these shoes in.
My niece immediately had a pair out and stuffed them on her feet. There was about 2 inches of shoe not being used as these are for older children as well as younger children but the soft, rubbery strap that goes across the foot kept these on. She started off with socks on but we soon established they would stay on better without socks. The strap also has a fluffy, boa kind of material circle on, topped with a ribbon and a cardboard picture of Disney characters (again I'm not up to date with Disney characters!).
The 4 pairs are all the same size but different colours, there are red, yellow, pink and clear shoes and all have a solid plastic sole with a heel about an inch high. I wondered if the heel was safe and started thinking about the grief I'd get from my brother if his little girl went over on her heels at the age of 4 but my sister-in-law said it wasn't a problem as my niece regularly dug out her high heels and clomped round the house in them so not to worry about it.
My niece went for the red pair first, they have remained her favourite for reasons unknown! She put them on and came into the kitchen to show me. As far as size goes if I'd bought these last year she wouldn't have been able to wear them but at 4 she could. The extra space at the back means she can continue to wear them for a while if she's still interested in a couple of years. She walked ok in them but obviously in a shuffling and clomping manner that children use for "high" heels. In fact within half an hour of having them she was showing me how she could jump in them!
Throughout my visit she modelled all 4 pairs and sometimes a mixture of two pairs and repeatedly took them out of the box and put them back in tidily which impressed her Mum! She then decided it would be easier to transport them in a doll's pushchair and I'm told she has been taking them everywhere with her since in the pushchair so she definitely likes them!
They are probably about 5-6 inches long so there's a couple of years of wear left in them if she wants to keep wearing them. So far the cardboard pictures haven't come off despite daily play and she thankfully hasn't fallen off her heels so a good result all round!
I can highly recommend these for little girls who like shoes, they are sturdy and girly and the box makes a good shoe rack to store them in with individual little shelves and a carrying handle in case a pushchair isn't available! My niece is still obsessed with her Disney shoes and each time anyone goes to visit insists on modelling them. A great result for a reasonably priced set of dress up shoes.
