==English Heritage Sword and Shield Set==

Last year we visited Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight which is part of the English Heritage group and had a truly brilliant time. So much so in fact that we have returned 8 months later for Jack's Birthday as he enjoyed it so much.

The first time we went we couldn't help but go into the gift shop to have a look around and that was when we came across this wonderful set of a sword and shield for what I thought was a really well made and great little set.

Of course Jack wanted it, and so did I. For £12.99 pence I didn't feel it was too expensive either compared to the other little shields and swords that they had on sale which we either made of foam or plastic and were not that much less in price.

The shield is rather a good size and it made from a light wood and the front of the shield has three black lions on the front. The back of the shield has two bits of rope like material which hold the shield in place on the arm to keep the defence up. The length of the shield is 35 cm and as with the sword the age recommendation is for 3 years and over.

The sword is made to a good standard and again a light coloured strong wood has been used to make it. There is a nice handle that is smooth and cut into a nice easy to hold shape and the tip of the sword blade is nicely rounded and really can not inflict any damage. The length of the sword is 45 cm in length and Jack finds it easy to hold and charge about with.

The set of the English Heritage Shield and Sword really do look rather cute and I much prefer Jack to play with this set rather than the plastic toy guns which he insists on playing with too. He has obviously had to learn that hitting people with the sword is not allowed but he seem to enjoy role playing with this items and is pretty safe with them

There were other accessories that we could have bought and perhaps will in the future such as a little outfit to make Jack look like a knight which had chain mail arms but he does probably have too much already!

As far as the product goes, I am more than happy to give it top marks with 5 stars out of 5. Both the Shield and the Sword are of a very high quality and will last a very long time even with the constant play that they get. The represent a good value for money and I would highly recommended them.

Many thanks for taking the time to read.

I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you.

Summary: A nice set
