My mum bought my daughter a Fisher Price kitchen from a local car boot sale for £15. It consists of a cooker and oven with clicky knobs, a sink with a clicky tap, a microwave with a bell, a cupboard, fridge and a drop leaf table. My daughter loves it, it came with a few accessories, some utensils and a couple of other bits, but we bought a new pot and pan set from Early Learning for £5. She loves to cook and then wash up the dishes and then uses the fridge as her cupboard. A couple of minus points to it are that the microwave is very high and hard for her to reach and the whole thing is huge! We have to have it in the garden as there isn't the room for it indoors. I think when she is a little older if she still enjoys playing with it as much we will invest in a new, smaller version. But for now this one does the trick for a fraction of the price. I would highly recommend picking up a second hand one first to see if your child is going to play with it before splashing out on a new one.
We bought a Fisher Price Kitchen for my daughter last Christmas, and it's proved a popular purchase. On one side of it there is a dishwasher, oven, two electric rings and a microwave, and on the other a small cash register with play money (3 chunky coins) and shelves. It's bright, sturdy and attractive. One small criticism I have is that I would have liked a few more items of play food included; you only get three or four things. Otherwise it's very good, encourages imaginative play and my two (age 2.5 and 4) love it!
