Well this microwave isn't just like the one at home but apart from the colour and that it cooks plastic food I guess its similar.
I played with a toy microwave like this at a play facility a while ago and it left a reasonably good impression on me.

This toy microwave is a two tone blue one with a yellow frame to the see through door There are darker blue buttons and a red control panel. The buttons are stop start and an add second button.
This microwave has lights and sounds so it is more realistic. 3 AA batteries are needed to make it work.
If the children get fed up and leave the microwave for a minute it will go into sleep mode. I did not find the sounds annoying they were not really very load

Some food and accessories come with this microwave You can pretend to cook a , hamburger, chicken leg, hot dog sausage there is a burger bun , hot dog roll and mustard and tomato sauce and a packet of pop corn too .(I hope we are not teaching healthy eating ).

I think this is quite a good toy for the house corner. Children love playing games which mimic real, life, . With this they will be able to cook that diner for baby or daddy. They will copy people the know who use the microwave talking to themselves the dollies or their friends.
Yes I think this is a good toy for pretend play. Suitable for a child aged over 3 years old .

I don't really know how durable the microwave looked ok. The food well not the best I have seen but adequate easy to find additional food anyway .
