“ Brand: Lexibook / Type: Shopping „
I bought this toy for my niece's birthday costing £25 which looked that pretty good value for money considering all that came with it. It is a rather attractive plastic shopping trolley complete with electronic attachement, It comes complete with swipe card, purse, money and groceries. Trolley- The trolley itself is sturdy and well made. It's easy to build together and pushes along nicely. It has a doll seat in the trolley that either a barbie or baby doll will fit into and a baskey underneath. It has a pretend lock to put pound coins in which I liked as it makes it that little bit more real. Electronic Attachment- This can either attach to the trolley handle or come loose. It's like a little till full of buttons of different shopping items e.g, fruit, clothes etc. When buying something you press the relevant button and it beeps to confirm your selection. There is a speaker and a microphone to make announcements and a device for swipping credit cards. The whole things makes lots of little beeps and sounds and has lights also. Purse and money- The purse is a simple plastic bag that is effective but there's nothing special about it. The credit card is great fun as you swipe it and the machine makes a big song and dance about it. The toy comes with both paper money in a variety of colours all with barbie printed on or coins which are little round pink discs. Groceries- This was a bit hit and niss really. It came with 20 items to play shop with which is a nice amount. Some of them were made from plastic such as banana, ice cream, cucumber etc. and some of them were just cardboard boxes for things such as phone, lipstick etc. The boxes were fiddly to put together and keep coming apart. They are not sturdy and are made from quite thin cardboard so squash and rip easilly. All in all this is a great fun toy for any pre-school child. My niece still playes with it now several months later although minus the cardboard boxes which all ended up in the bin. It helps with learning as it teaches the concept that things have to be paid for and as the money has value's printed on it can be used to teach money value's and math skills. I was pleased with the product as was my niece and I think it's good value for money.
