Peppa Pig Coin Purse
Advantages: Gets lots of use, durable, brightly patterned
Disadvantages: On the expensive side for what it is
I bought this for my 6 year old niece Ellie at Easter as a little present to go with her peppa pig egg that i made for her as she's always talking about Peppa Pig and even has a dog named after her (just Peppa, not Peppa pig!) I paid £3.99 with free delivery from Amazon and it arrived quickly. I was initially quite dissapointed as i expected it to be a tad larger however it soon became apparent that to a 6 year old it would seem much bigger anyway so it was unlikely to be an issue.
The purse is quite basic with a picture on both sides of 3 pigs in a red car on a sunny day. I have no idea which one is Peppa but it's a nice little picture with the pigs looking very happy. Above the picture is pink font saying 'Peppa Pig' with a blue bubble around it. The colours are all nice and vibrant so it is obviously very eye catching aswell as been recognisable to children. The material of the purse, i would guess is plastic. It's soft and comfy to hold and has a nice glossy shine to it which Ellie liked straight away. This is definetly a unisex purse as it has both blue and pink on it.
The purse has got a zip that goes all the way around. The zip is plastic and easy to get a grip of so it is very simple for little ones to open and there is no worry of them getting buttons off of the purse. The purse is quite soft inside and has one compartment, this can hold 4-5 pound coins and maybe a few 5ps/1ps. I gave the purse to my niece with 3 pound coins in and they hogged most of the space so it's not ideal for the type of child who will want to store all of there pocket money in as obviously if it won't all fit it will likely end in a tantrum. I nearly had that problem with Ellie because she kept attempting to put loads of her coins in and they wouldn't fit, but i told her just before she was about to explode into a screaming fit that it was a special purse for going out and it was important to only take a few special coins, so now whenever i take her anywhere she takes 5 minutes selecting the coins she wants to bring, bless.
Cleaning this purse is easy. Anyone with kids will know they're forever spreading food/dirt etc about via sticky fingers, and whenever Ellie leaves marks on it i just get a baby wipe and clean the purse with that - it works really well so there is no worry of the purse getting stained. The purse isn't a novelty item like alot of people may think and Ellie has had hers since Easter and has used it pretty much everyday to take to school (she takes it even without any coins, she loves it!), obviously in another few months or so she might outgrow it but hopefully she'll get plenty more use out of it.
Overall for a young child (i'd say children under ten), this is a lovely little gift. Although quite expensive for a small coin purse, it is lasting well, is durable and is easy to clean. Children who love Peppa are guarenteed to enjoy this.
