My little girl is growing up quickly, and in recent months she has began raiding my makeup and jewellery boxes whenever she gets the chance. I decided it was time I got her something for herself to deter her from mine, but as she is only four years old I did not want to buy anything expensive as she is likely to lose it. While searching Amazon I came across these children jewellery sets and thought they would be perfect for her first set. It says its retail price of around £20, but to be honest I have always seen it on offer for close to £10. I actually purchased ours for around £6 which I thought was a very fair price. It is made from stainless steel and plastic but still looks very pretty. This was a win win for me as my daughter loved it, and I had no worries if she was to lose any of it. The set includes a watch, a necklace and a bracelet. It all comes in a simple but pretty presentation box which makes it perfect for a gift. It has a transparent casing so little one can see what is inside as soon as they open it, and my daughter was very excited. I searched the description to try and find an age recommendation before purchasing, but unfortunately there was not one available. My little girl is four and the watch fits her perfectly on one of the smallest settings. The bracelet and necklace fit her ok but the bracelet does need to be secured to one of the links as it was a little too large on the hook. I think from the sizing it would be suitable for children of around 4-8 years old and would fit them comfortably. The set is very well made, but it is just costume jewellery. The build of all the pieces is actually really good, and despite my little girl wanting to take it on and off it has lasted without breaking. It is pink, glittery and exactly the type of thing that appeals to young girls. I would say any child older than 7 or 8 may find it a little young looking but for my little girl it was perfect. I was a little worried as my little girl tends to take the bracelet and necklace off and put it back on more than she wears it, but it has lasted well. The clasps are a little difficult for her small hands to do, so she needs help from mummy to get them on and off. I was worried the large charms could catch on something as they hand loose but they sit find on her wrist without looking overly large. There are many variations of these sets available, but I chose the Kitty set. It is not supposed to be Hello kitty but it does resemble her a little. There are ballerina, cupcake, heart and many other versions available. My little girl knew straight away it was not hello kitty, but the glitter and pink beads are still perfect to make them attractive. It is very girly with the glitter sprinkled all over the set and this design was perfect for her. The watch is by far my little girl's favourite part of the set and she never takes it off. She is a little young still to start telling the time, but she has began looking at the numbers and hands to try and figure out the time. She is happy to ask me what the time is, and it has given her an interest in learning to tell the time which is always a good thing. The strap is well cushioned so it sits comfortably on her wrist without being too heavy. The charms on both the necklace and bracelet are all still attached to the main body of them, and there are no signs of wear at all. She does tend to pull at them a fair bit so it is very durable. We have owned ours since Christmas without any problems at all. I would highly recommend this set to anyone with a young child. It is costume jewellery but very well made and she loves using them while she is dressing up. She never takes the watch of other than bath and bedtime, and it has been a huge hit. It has helped keep her away from my dressing table as now she has her very own set. I actually purchased a second set for my niece's birthday, and they were just as well received.
