Advantages: Perfect for Halloween, cute

Disadvantages: None

Every year at Halloween my mummy friends and I have a Halloween party. Its been a tradition since the kids were babies and my little girl has had a few costumes now, this witches costume being the one she worn last year.

I don't really like to spend too much money on costumes for the kids as they usually only end up wearing them once or twice so Sainsburys is the perfect place to find them as I think this outfit only cost me about £8 if I remember correctly. With that you got the dress and also a witches hat. I bought some tights separately but these sort of matched the outfit and only cost me £2 so its a really good bargain and that year I was pleased with the quality of the outfit. This year I looked in Sainsburys to find a costume but was really disappointed with the quality of the outfits, the material was quite thin and there was not much choice so I ended up getting them outfits in Matalan but last year this outfit was perfect.

This dress was made of a shiny polyester fabric, it was never going to be a good quality dress but for a fancy dress costume it is perfect. There was a choice of different sizes, 9-12 months, 12-18 months, 18-24 months and then 2 years plus and so on and I think this went up to about 7 or 8 years so a good range of sizes. The dress differs a bit from the photo Dooyoo are showing as I think this was the dress Sainsburys had for sale a few years ago now.

This dress is mainly purple with shiny silver stars all over it . It just pulls over the head and so has no buttons or zips to do it up with. I think this made it really easy to take on and off and it doesn't matter if its a bit too big or small for your little one as it doesn't need to fit perfectly. As my little girl is quite small and thin I think the dress was a bit big for her but it really didn't matter. The dress had as elasticated panel over the chest so it fit well here and it also had short puffed sleeves. I like that it had sleeves as obviously your little one is going to be wearing it at the end of October so they need a dress that will keep them warm a little bit and not like the other ones you can get in the shops that have no sleeves which in my opinion are quite impractical.

The dress then has lots of bits of coloured mesh material hanging down from the skirt, green, purple and orange to give it a real witchey look. The hat is a stereotypical black pointed witches hat. It is made of the same polyester material and has a wide brim on it. It has a band of the purple material and the silver stars around the bottom of it so it matches the dress. It has an elasticated strap that goes underneath the chin to keep the hat on and it did work well for my little girl although how long does a little person keep a hat on??!!

The tights that I bought were black and orange stripey and worked well with the outfit and made my little girl look like a proper little witch. She got lots of compliments on the outfit and this was a really fun Halloween costume.
