Advantages: easy to assemble and good value for money

Disadvantages: Tried to order another one and it was out of stock

I was browsing through the Tesco Direct Catalogue looking for a birthday present for my niece who will be three. I always find that searching for presents, for children, is quite difficult. Kids nowadays seem to have every game and toy on the market and my niece is no exception.

While looking through the sale items in the catalogue I came across the Sparkle & Glitz Fairy Dressing Table. I decided that this would be an ideal present for her.

There is a dressing table complete with a plastic mirror and also a little stool for sitting on.

I ordered it straight away and collected it from my local Tesco Store two days later.

The dressing table comes in a large pink and white cardboard box and has a picture of a little girl sitting on the stool at the dressing table.

As with most of these kind of toys you have to assemble them yourself. I decided that I would assemble it before giving it to my niece. There is nothing worse than getting a present, and then having to wait until someone makes it up, only to find there is a part missing.

The entire thing is made from hard plastic and is bright pink in colour. The plastic is very sturdy.

The dressing table comes in four parts. There are two sides,(which have three little shelves each), a table top (which has little pieces cut out to put things in) and a stabilizing bar. These parts clicked in together without any problems at all. The table itself stands twenty inches high.

The plastic mirror top also comes in four parts. There is a heart shaped mirror, (which is about 8 inches by six inches), two sides for the mirror, (which are in the shape of fairy wings) and a bar to go across the back behind the two sides and the mirror. Again these clicked into place without any problems.

The little stool comes in five parts. There are four legs and a seat.
The legs were the push in type and were quite difficult to push in. I was happy with this as it meant they were a tight fit. The stool stands about ten inches high and the seat is about nine inches in diameter.

I found this easy to assemble and all the parts were there. When made up it looks really pretty.

This dressing table is not suitable for children under the age of three and it tells you this on the packaging.

The picture on the packaging shows a little brush, comb, hairdryer and some hair clips etc. all sitting on the dressing table. Unfortunately these are not included and it does tell you on the box, although it is in very small print.

This cost £11.50 in the Tesco direct sale. The original price was £22.

My niece was thrilled with her present and I was thrilled with the price.
