Advantages: Good price, Look good
Disadvantages: Feel flimsy, Lenses are awful
When I was looking for some sunnies for me, I found that Bloc appeared to be in the right range of the market, not too cheap, and not to expensive. I need good sunnies as I go out in the sun a lot, so I wanted brand reassurance that my eyes would be safe, and I wouldn't be prone to headaches. Bloc sunglasses are, in these terms, very good, providing a good level of protection for your eyes. My problem with them was predominantly the fact that for 35 quid, you'd expect them to feel sturdy, and they don't at all. They feel flimsy, and just like "normal" sunnies, liable to break. So on first "feel", I wasn't too impressed. Then I put them on, and yes, they felt a little flimsy on my face, but suited quite well, I was impressed, and almost ready to shrug my shoulders at their flimsiness and get them. Then I moved. The lenses are absolutely awful for my eyes! It's like having a pair of somebody else's prescription glasses on, I felt dizzy and faint in the shop, let alone in the sun. Walking along I felt unstable, and I feel that the lenses are pretty bad really. Not very impressive after all! Whilst they look nice, I wouldn't recommend these. Either stick to cheaper glasses, or go for slightly more expensive ones with better lenses. Again, thanks for the comments. I didn't actually buy these glasses I should stress, on account of the lenses! I actually (ahem) spent quite a bit more...but trust me, it's worth it.

- 16/06/01 They sound awful, and for £35. You can go to a hypnotist and be made to feel dizzy in relative safety for a lot less.;-)Sandyd |

- 16/06/01 35 quid? Bloody hell. Mines were a fiver and they're great, although they don't ahve some fancy name on them. Good advice. |
