Advantages: Cheap way to make designer tee-shirts of your own

Disadvantages: Some people might use this to make HIS and HERS tee-shirts! Oh dear!

This product is really easy to use. I bought a pack of ten transfer sheets to design tee-shirts for a team of holistic therapists when we first started working together.

I bought mine from a local computer shop. Please note here that these transfer sheets are only to be used on inkjet printers, don't use them in a laser printer.

You get ten sheets for £9.99 so you can afford to experiment a little to find exactly what you want and get it right.

I had the idea of positioning various designs on an A4 sheet in Microsoft Publisher and printing out one sheet that I could cut up and practise with.

The booklet inside the pack gives lots of tips and information that will help you get excellent results. I did actually study it before starting, although it is very straight forward.

I would recommend starting out this way. Put all your test designs onto an A4 sheet in Microsoft Publisher, or even Word. You can use Paint to alter them if you don't have any other programme to do this.

Simply print out the sheet and then cut out your designs very carefully, leaving a good half inch all round them.

Then iron them onto an old tee-shirt, or piece of fabric just to practise. (Follow the instructions for different kinds of fabric).

This way you only waste one sheet of transfer paper.

The main thing I discovered is that these transfers look best on white garments because you get a white edge around them.

If you want to use them on coloured tee-shirts, etc you will have to trim them very carefully to get an even white border all around the logo.

This turned out to be a very cheap way of making matching tee-shirts for us all as we managed to get three copies of the design on one sheet.

These would be great for hen parties, sponsored walks, group holidays, childrens parties and all kinds of things. You can now get designer tee-shirts for hardly anything.

A friend of mine recently made ten team tee-shirts for a school swimming team. Al lit took was ten cheap white tee-shirts and two sheets of transfer paper.

To my wreckoning that's less than twelve pounds for the lot.

There are lots of other ideas you can try out once you get the hang of this and it's easy enough to do.

Summary: Cheap way to make great tee-shirt designs.
