Advantages: quality lenses, great design, value doesn't go down
Disadvantages: screws don't tighten too well, poor packing
I've been an Oakley fan ever since I picked up a pair of standard Eye Jackets for my 15th birthday. Every other pair of glasses I've owned before and after that were treated badly, lost or damaged within a few months, but I managed to keep my Oakley's immaculate due to their value and my love for them. A few years later I picked up the natural evolution to these glasses - a pair of Juliet X Metals. I felt the Romeo range were too big for my face (and in my opinion, my face isn't particularly small) so I went down a size to the sexy Juliet's. The second you put them on, you're unsure whether they're doing their job because everything feels so natural. Until you come in contact with sunlight, and you realise you're not wincing. Oakley have recieved their reputation not only due to their fantastic design works, but the fact they use some of the best lenses in their glasses. But with the original eyejackets, you knew most of the money went into the lenses, whilst the frames remained very nicely designed pieces of plastic. Not anymore, as the lightweight but sturdy titanium frames surround your eyes. Complete with rubber cards on ANYTHING that might possibly move, you know they've been designed to last , and to stay where they're meant to - on your face. Simply put, they're incredibly comfortable to wear, and everyone always asks me to try them on, and they usually go around the entire table as people get the WOW factor from glasses they always presumed were a ripoff and for fashion victims only. If any discrepencies, i'd say the screws on the frame could be a bit better, as I cannot tighten the one arm quite as much as the other, and for the price the box they came in could be a bit better. You still get the same average Oakley software cleaning bag the same as the glasses 1/4 of the price, and anything tougher has to be paid extra. And if you're going to be transporting the
m, you'll need something a lot stronger than the cardboard box they arrive in, or you'll spend the trip worrying your precious glasses have a scratch across the front. In a word - incredible. I've had these for a year, and I'm still proud every time I go outside. I just wish the British summer time was longer!
