My House was burgled last year and one of the items that was stolen was my handbag, it was not really a very special one just a classic black one from some chain store, so I needed to replace it. I needed / wanted to replace my bag quickly insurance people were very nice and said just go out and buy one send us the bill.

I live in a large village / v small town and the car was nicked no transport to go to, town ,so I shopped at my local leather gifts shop 3 minutes walk away from my house .Now this shop stocks very nice handbags, Radley bags. I had never heard of Radley bags before, usually only buying handbags at under £20.
Now as you might expect a village leather shop sells only more expensive bags. Radley handbags start at about £25 for a small shoulder bag, up to £250. I was shown a variety of handbags by Radley they were lovely a good leather. Each one had the trademark tag of a leather Scotty dog this attached to the back by a removable leather thong. You may have seen this as it is their logo.

Radley make a variety of bags. Luggage bags, purses, wallets, briefcases, key wallets, handbags. Some are plain coloured, some have a small design on them a common design a few leaves of different coloured leather. Some of the larger bags have reinforced corners.

I fell in love with these bags they smelt gorgeous that new leather bag smell. The leather felt good soft and smooth. The designs of most of the bags good. A variety of styles, sizes and colours, red, black, brown, oyster. The prices of some of the bags was a lot for me £75, £100. I felt I could not spend that much , ok I was claiming from the insurance but my conscience would not let me spend £100 to replace a bag that probably cost me less than £20 .00p. The shop did stock a Bradley bag that cost £70.00. Radley bags are available to buy on line or in leather bag shops and big department stores like J Lewis.

My bag is a medium sized black bag had a zip to close the bag and on the outside has a small pocket. Inside it is one fairly large compartment with 2 zip pocket’s in the bag lining. Yes the bag is lined with a black fabric all the Radley bags are lined with either the same colour as the bag or a contrasting one.
My bag has a soft leather shoulder strap; I like to be able to sling my bag across my shoulder and not just have to carry it in my hands on a small strap. My bag is comfortable to carry like that.

The leather my bag is made from is lovely and 1 year later is still in good condition I use it nearly every day. I do occasionally give it a wipe and polish with a neutral leather polish designed for shoes. This keeps the leather subtle. I am very pleased with my bag the workmanship on it good the stitching strong,

The design a simple classic one, I did like a lot of the Radley bags I looked atand I liked this one because of its size and style fortunatley as this bag at £70 was the cheapest in the shop and I could not afford more.

Buying this nice bag helped me feel a bit better about things after our burglary. A ladies handbag is very individual and a personal and private possession, one to keep things that one needs and a few small treasures. I feel lost when I go places and forget to take my hand bag.
