Advantages: Finest leather, excellent quality, spacious products
Disadvantages: None
I fell in love with Radley a few years back while browsing my local Collectable store. I found the little Scotty dog which graced these products absolutely adorable and fell in love immediately. As a dog lover, I would love an accessory that depicts a dog but not something that has a loud dog print, so the subtleness of the Radley range fitted in perfectly for me. The prices of these items seem somewhat extortionate when you don't have much money, and as I did not have much cash to spare at the time, a Radley item was way out of my league.
I am now in receipt of my very first Radley accessory. A large leather purse.
My husband bought it for me as a present, just for being me, I wish he had that thought more often though. :0)
~~~~ Radley Products ~~~~
Radley products are made from the finest leather, in a range of colours and designs. Their product ranges include handbags, purses, compact mirrors, luggage, passport covers, luggage tags and even umbrellas (although the umbrellas are not made from leather). The familiar Scotty dog logo appears on most of their products, whether he is sitting in a pocket or hanging from a strap, as though he has a leash attached to his collar. Their product come at cost but are of excellent quality and craftsmanship. All of their leather products come with their very own dust bag to protect your items when they are not in use. The one which came with my purse is dusty blue in colour and has a leather patch with the Radley dog and 'RADLEY' stitched onto it. For a small compact mirror you are looking at £18.00, purses range from £15.00 for a very small coin purse to £55.00 for a matinee purse. Handbags are in the range of £90.00 for a small grab bag to £160.00 for a large tote. There really are too many products to list the prices for each individual item.
~~~~ Buying Radley ~~~~
Radley have their own site at www.radley.co.uk, which lists most of their newer products. The website is very easy to use and navigate around. They also have 'zoom' feature so when you move your mouse over the product a square appears and zooms right into the area that you are hovering above. This feature is excellent to have, as you are able to see the detail on the items before making a decision to purchase.
Department stores also sell Radley products, as well as Collectables if you have one in your area. I have been told to look out for the sales at department stores as sometimes items are available a lot cheaper, so keep your eye out for a bargain.
~~~~ My Purse ~~~~
My purse is the larger style purse, which retails at around £50.00. It is beautifully made with stunning soft black leather with an apple green leather Radley Scotty dog sat in a pocket to the left of the purse. 'RADLEY' is embossed into the leather of the pocket and is trimmed with green piping. The front of the purse is a flap, which is fastened by one of two press-studs. The press-studs are situated above each other so you can extend your purse depending on what you have in it. I presume this is to stop the leather from being strained when pulled shut. Inside this first flap is a beautiful apple green silk lining. There are 2 zipped pockets for my coinage, and 3 deep pouches, which holds my bus pass comfortably. Both of the zipped pockets are lined with the same green silk and have a leather tab to open and close the zip on the top. There is also a pocket on the inside of the flap, made of the same black leather and lined with the green silk. At the front of the purse near the press-stud fastening, there is 2 pockets, one above the other, which are quite shallow but big enough to hold bus/train tickets or receipts.
The back of the purse is another flap, which is fastened at the top of the purse with another press-stud fastener. The press-stud on this side is fixed to a little flap, which pulls down from the top of the purse to keep it shut. 'RADLEY' is also embossed into the leather along the bottom of the flap. This side of the purse opens up to reveal 12 card slots, 2 of which are clear for your id and photos, there is also a large, deep note section, lined in the aforementioned green silk. I also have 4 'hidden' pockets behind the card sections which are useful for stamps, photos etc.
All of the pockets, including the small credit card pockets are lined in this beautiful silk and all visible surface are of the soft black leather.
~~~~ A final note ~~~~
The exquisite design of Radley and attention to details, which goes into these products, are amazing. I am proud to own a Radley item and I hope that this will last me for years to come.
Thank you for reading my review, sorry it is a bit long but I wanted to get in as much detail as possible.
