I have always believed that good sunglasses are very important to protect my eyes from the sun (assuming that we have a summer when the sun actually shines brightly for any length of time).

Over the years I have tried many different brands but finally settled on Ray Ban. My first pair cost me just £20 around 10 year ago.

That was a lot to pay for sunglasses in those days.

On a trip away to Palma I came across Ray Ban orbs at just 70 Euros which was around £50 pounds at the time. This had to be a real bargain as I have seem Ray Ban Orbs for sale in excess of £100.

As far as I can tell they are the real thing, and I say that before I get comments about fake goods. I bought these from a reputable outlet in Palma.

These sunglasses have frames made from titanium which makes them very strong but light to wear and the lenses have a pleasing oval shape to them and are made of strengthened glass as opposed to acrylic, or even plastic as is the case in some cheap imitations..


They also have the Ray Ban logo on the arms and on the top of the lens.

There is a choice of frames available and these range from Arista, Gun Metal, Black and Brown. I chose gun metal as I have a very light coloured complexion, brown doesn't suit me and black is too harsh.

You can also choose from classic Ray Bans or mirror lenses. I opted for the classic lenses. These provide a 100% UV block, so you get total protection and they have silicone nose pads to stop you getting those horrible red patches on the sides of your nose from where the sunglasses have been sitting.

Since I bought these I would never go back to cheaper sunglasses. They give great protection from UV sunlight and not so dark that they make it impossible to read outside in the sun.

There's nothing better in my opinion .than laying in the sun beside the sea and reading a good book.

I trust my Ray Bans to protect my eyes from damage and to stop them feeing itchy and sore from too much bright sunlight.

They are well worth the money.

Summary: Worth the money to look good and know that eyes are protected too.
