Abercrombie & Fitch
by TheOpinion Abercrombie and Fitch (A&F) is a clothing brand from the USA and there is now a store in London. The clothes from this store are about as comfortable as I have ever purchased. The brand offers a selection of very fashionable items for men and women that can be used either to dress up or dress down depending on the occasion. A&F ... is essentially the older, more responsible sibling to Hollister and Gilly Hicks which are the alternative brands under the A&F label. Items that I own have ranged from £25 to £120. The quality is exceptional as this is far from the disposable fashion fad that you will see in many high street stores at the moment. A few key choice pieces would transform your wardrobe for the better. This brand does not do melancholy colours so don't expect to see much black or purple as its pretty vibrant, young and fresh... pretty much like the people that work there. Read the complete review |

Abercrombie & Fitch
by stufflover I am a lover of clothes and designer labels are quite high up on my list. One of my favorite clothing lines is from designer Abercrombie and Fitch. Abercrombie and Fitch are an American founded company, from New York, and they are quite a prestigious brand. This is reflected in the price tags, but I have found that the price ... really does reflect in the quality, and these are clothes that I am happy to pay out for. I have a selection of clothes from A&F, including hoodies and t-shirts, and my partner has a collection of their clothes too. The cheapest item I own from them is a t-shirt which costs £25, and although this seems to be a high cost for a t-shirt, this top still looks the same as the day it was bought. It is still soft, thick and the pattern is clean, crisp and pefect, just like the day I bought it. I have worn and washed it many a time, and there is no sign that this is not brand new. This is the case with my other A&F items too, and this is something I have found does not happen with cheaper brands of clothes. The fit of all their items is perfect too, almost like it was made just for me, and this is something I really do not find with other brands either. I am amazed at how comfortable the clothes are as well, style and comfort are not two things we usually find together these days! There is a multitude of places to buy A&F clothing from, including their flagship stores, which you can normally find in larger cities, and you can also buy their clothes on their website and they deliver pretty much anywhere. There is also the occasional independant store that sell a small selection of the latest A&F trends, but these can be hard to find and they do not usually have a large selection. The sizes for A&F can be a bit difficult to get used to, but generally I wear a medium and I usually wear a dress size 10 - 12. They also do a XS, S and L. There may be an XL in some styles but I am not 100% sure about that one. If you are looking for some amazing clothes, and you can afford to pay the high prices, then this is a clothing range to go for. It will last you for a long time, and is amazing quality, so I truly believe it is worth the high price tag. 100% recommended, 5 out of 5 stars from me. Read the complete review |

Abercrombie & Fitch
by beautybabiex I was one of the first of my school to discover Abercrombie & Fitch at the tender age of 13 when I visited Florida with my family. All of the kids, adults and teens seemed to be wearing it so my parents treated me to a couple of items. Abercrombie & Fitch is a difficult style to pull off. I would say you have to be ... very preppy looking and have a certain image to be able to pull it off without looking silly. I know a lot of people who attempt to wear it and just look wrong. (This is not me being harsh, it is me stating that like most stores - you need an image to pull it off). The brand has been around since 1892, and has recently expanded into Hollister Co and Gilly Hicks. I have to admit, whilst being amazingly popular for about a decade in the USA, England has only warmed to it recently with only one store in the country. Their age range is very much college students, but they do have a kids range now too (which will fit a size 8 if you buy large - they have some nice clothes!). Abercrombie was one of the first casual clothing ranges of its style, quickly followed by the British alternative named Jack Wills. Hollister Co has been appearing in every large mall recently and I used to know of only one in Westfields, London but now they have 3 local to my home. Gilly Hicks has also made an appearance at Westfields. Abercrombie & Fitch (along with the other sister brands it has created) have a very distinct look. It is marketed as luxury casual clothing and I have to admit, I much prefer it to shops such as River Island and TopShop. The brand has not changed its style much over the years, seeming to stay the same just giving different t-shirt designs and such whereas other brands change the whole range they offer seasonally. I would say it is a very varsity style look with lots of logo's and sports branding, very typical US teen. As I was young when I visited the Florida store, I don't really remember much other than one of the workers asking me on a date. My mum asked if we could have one pair of trackies in 2 sizes to try - he brought me every style in the colour in the 2 sizes. The changing room was over taken! Love smitten teens can be fun at the best of times. The London store is very much loud and dark. The lighting is dimmed and the store is an old mansion with gorgeous fireplaces and authentic features. As you walk in, there is loud indie style music with workers dancing up on the balcony and huge shelving to hold the vast amount of clothing. The smell is gorgeous! If you have been in Abercrombie before you will know what I am talking about, if not then you should just imagine the most sexy, subtle smell in the world - and it is on all the clothing too! Abercrombie & Fitch is very much a 'layering' brand, with lots of vest tops and such so you can make your look stand out even more. For example, a vest top with a polo shirt or checked shirt, finished with a cardigan. It is a seriously casual style and you will find nothing worth wearing into a night club inside. Accessories are at a minimum and there is no footwear except for flip flops so its safe to say they do focus entirely on clothing. The London store is very hard to locate if I'm honest, as it is in between loads of office buildings. There is no logo outside to state what it is and this is due to the area being full of law buildings etc. Once the giant doors are open you see lots of half naked models strutting around and there is usually a queue outside. The store is over a couple of floors and due to the building there are lots of rooms to explore which can become quite confusing but I have never experienced anything like this store. It is one of a kind! The only down fall is that it is the only store in the UK, so it is always ridiculously busy no matter what time of day you appear. There is never a quiet time - poor staff. The staff all look so similar. All of the boys have floppy hair, perfect teeth, perfect skin and muscly bodies that pop out of their tight clothing. The girls all have long beachy hair, perfect skin/teeth and slender bodies. Much as you would expect from the 'preppy' stereotype. They are extremely helpful though but as most of the clothing is up high, you struggle to get their attention as everyone is after items. The clothing itself is such good quality. I have tops which have been worn a hell of a lot and have lasted me 3+ years. They keep their shape in the wash (I wash on 30 always), the clothes are all warm and quite thick material, although the t-shirts are cool enough to wear in the summer without feeling too hot. Their denims are You do pay most of the price because of the branding, but it is also excellent quality. If it was looked at on basis of the price to make the clothes - they probably aren't making much profit at all. The price of the clothing depends on what you buy. If your purchasing a t-shirt expect to be paying between £30-£40 which is a lot more than most are willing to pay but worth it for the quality. I brought a hooded zip top which was fur lined last year for £95 but it is definately worth the price as it is so cosy in the winter. One thing I would advise against is buying online as the postage is high due to them shipping from America. Although they do have every style, size and pattern available which is perfect if you can't find what you'd like in store. In all honesty, it is my favourite clothing brand as this is the style I suit best. But for you, it may not suit - you never know until you try. The price may seem a bit steep but the clothing is well worth it and will last you a very long time. Worst to worst why not buy some from eBay?!
