New Look Chevron Padded Hooded Gilet
by loopylou1234
I bought this for myself after Christmas. My in-laws (like every year) had been very generous and bought us all lots of presents. One of mine was a onesie which didn't fit and as I didn't have a receipt New Look offered me a credit note. So this is what I decided to spend it on.
~~ Appearance ~~
I tend to refer ... to my gilet as a body warmer. It is navy blue with a white chunky zip fastener and the hood has a grey lining. The materials are listed on the label as follows: Shell, Padding and Lining1- 100% Polyester and Lining2 - 67% Polyester and 33% Cotton. It must have been quite popular in my local New Look as the sizes tended to be very small (size 8) and then bigger sizes (size 18) and not a lot in between. When I saw a 12 I grabbed it, I do usually tend to wear a size 10 from New Look but thought in this instance it wouldn't matter if it was slightly bigger as I could wear a sweatshirt underneath. It has a hood and two pockets on the front.
The body warmer is easy and comfortable to wear. I have found it very practical and keep mine in the porch with the rest of the coats. I tend to wear mine over a jumper to wear on the march to preschool to pick my eldest daughter up. I usually live in skinny jeans and boots with plain coloured tops so this item fits well in my wardrobe! It is very warm and I am pleased with the quality of this. I have washed it a few times and it still looks good and hasn't faded at all.
The item code on the label is 1142/2641868/41.
~~ Price and Availability ~~
I paid £19.99 For this just after Christmas and it is now in the sale for £12. At the time of purchase, there were black ones too but I am not sure if these are still available.
~~ Overall ~~
Overall I am very pleased with this. It looks and feels good and is very practical. I am very tempted to see if I can buy another one in the sale, possibly a different colour. Great price and it doesn't look 'cheap' especially when standing next to some of the other parents in the playground wearing their branded expensive versions!

New Look Long Sleeve Tops
by Loubielou82
I bought a few of these tops several months ago when I was in New Look shopping for jeans. At £4.99 each or 2 for £8 I figured that they would be pretty basic jersey tops which would be ideal for pulling on under a jumper, or for just wearing with joggers kicking around the house. I bought two of the tops in black, one in white and one ... on grey.
I have now been wearing them for months and I am very pleased wit them. They are comfortable and a good length, which is important as I hate tops which you have to pull down constantly. The colours are neutral and go with anything and they have washed very well and held their shape which for the money, I did not expect them to do.
As the weather gets a little warmer, I probably won't wear these so much as they are fairly warm, however they are still in good enough condition that I will stow them away for next year.
Overall, I have been impressed and would buy these tops again. Read the complete review |

New Look Tube Skirt
by lyndsey1989
I was doing an order on the New Look website a few months ago when I came across this tube skirt. It was reduced from something like £8 to £3 which of course was an absolute bargain and not one to be turned down! The only colour available for that price was biscuit so that's the colour I ordered. I opted for a size 10 as although I am a ... little bigger than usual at the moment the skirt is quite stretchy.
When the skirt arrived I was pleased with my purchase. I love the colour and to be honest I'm glad it was the only colour available because usually I would opt for something else.
The skirt is quite soft but at the same time it does look smart and could be worn to work. I always pair mine with some opaque black tights and I like the look this gives.
A few people have commented that they like my skirt and I do think its quite versatile. I mainly prefer to dress mine down wearing it with my uggs or flat boots but it could be glammed up with heels for a night out but for that you'd probably want a different colour.
When wearing it it comes about halfway down my thigh and it doesn't ride up. The material provides you with the perfect fit as it clings to your body and I was really surprised by how comfortable the skirt was.
I have washed the skirt a few times now, usually on a 40 degree cycle and it has always washed fine, the colour hasn't faded, it hasn't shrunk or become baggy and there are no bobbles either!
I think this skirt is a brilliant wardrobe essential and I will definitely be buying a couple of other colours even at full price as they are comfortable and look good too. Recommended. Read the complete review |
