Peppa Pig Pyjamas
by MsTricia
One thing that my daughter never seems to have is pyjamas. Whenever it is bedtime she conveniently can never find a clean set, so knowing how much she loves Miss Peppa Pig and wanting to get some good use of my amazon vouchers I scouted about for a really nice looking set within a reasonable price. These currently cost £3.83 in my ... daughters size (3-4 year old) and delivery was £2.95 so altogether £6.78 which didn't sound too bad.
The design of these pyjamas is quite simple, the top is a fuschia pink colour, with a picture of Peppa pig holding an ice lolly on the front with a house either side of her, ad a sun in the sky with flowers and hearts etc. The label inside has a Peppa Pig tag attached and it says Peppa pig in the standard design on the interior so it seems a genuine and not a cheap copy. The pictures on the front of the top however does seem a bit cheap as it is clearly printed on, and feels as though it will wear off sooner rather than later but I suppose for the price I paid I won't complain too much.
The trousers, I have to say I was disappointed with when opening the packaging. They are more of a baby pink colour so don't entirely co-ordinate with the top but they also have a Peppa pig logo at the bottom so my daughter knows these are a set. Anyway, when my daughter first tried these on I thought they had sent the wrong size as they looked too short! Upon further reading of the description on amazon, I then discovered the trousers are "cropped" trousers so designed to only reach the knee or so. I thought this was quite misleading as in the picture, the trousers are clearly folded over so you cannot really gage an idea of the length and I just assumed they were full length trousers.
Nevertheless my daughter loves these pyjamas and they have been great for her to wear to bed over recent nights where the weather is warmer. They are made from 100% cotton so they are soft and the material does not rub or irritate my daughter's skin at all. The quality does feel a bit cheap, probably something I'd expect to buy from Primark or somewhere, but not awful so that I wouldn't let her wear it - after all she's only got it on to go to bed, no-one is really going to see it under the covers!
In terms of sizing, these pyjamas come in 12-18 months, 18 - 24 months, 2 -3 years and 3 - 4 years and so of course I bought my daughter the aged 3 - 4 years as she is 3 years old. The pyjamas fit her perfectly and I would even say with the top she has a lot more wear out of it as it is a nice baggy fit giving her freedom to move and roll around in her sleep!
In terms of washing, these are machine washable up to 40 degrees, and I have had washed these in the washing machine on 30 degrees and they have been fine. They cannot be used in the tumble dryer and to be ironed (not sure why anyone irons pyjamas!) this should be done on reverse as of course the design on the front will just get stuck to the iron!
Overall I have to give these pyjamas 3 stars! My daughter loves it but sometimes I wonder if she'd love a pile of rubbish with a picture of peppa pig on the front to be honest. They are a decent quality for what I paid, was just a bit annoyed at the shortness of the trousers as they aren't the pyjamas I had in mind, but I wasn't prepared to go through the hassle to return them on this basis. Nevertheless they do the good job of giving my daughter something to wear to bed that she loves so I would recommend them to anyone wanting a nice set of peppa pj's for their little one. Asda George Heart Print Pyjama Bottoms
by MsTricia
I had a little shopping trip in Asda on payday last month and was browsing the George section when these trousers really caught my eye. I love lounging around at home in loose fititng baggy trousers so these seemed ideal for the summer months and for only £6 I was totally happy with the price!
The design of these are really ... nice as they are a deep pink background, with an assortment of different sized dark blue hearts floating around. At first glance I actually thought these were pink and black leopard print, and this is why they caught my eye but it was my sister who actually pointed out they were pictures of hearts! The material is 100% cotton which is really soft and so these felt really nice and good quality when I picked them up. They have an elasticated drawstring around the waistband so these are adjustable which gives this a nice feature.
In terms of sizing, Asda sizes come in 8-10, 12-14, 16-18 etc and being an average size 10 I opted for the size 10. They fit me perfectly and being 5"5 they are the perfect length without sweeping on the floor or being ankle swingers haha! I would say these are true to size, and anyone can find a suitable size.
These trousers are really comfortable, and I love lounging around in them at home! They have lots of room for me to feel snug and warm and not too thick to be hot and sweaty if I sleep in them overnight (as I am quite a hot and sweaty person when I sleep at night!). They are really stylish and girly, and I can mix and match it with other tops and vests I have at home. They aren't the most sexiest thing but my other half doesn't seem to mind!
In terms of washing, these are machine washable, and I have had washed these in the washing machine on 30 degrees and the colour hasn't faded and they haven't shrunk at all. They can be used in the tumble dryer (not that I am fortunate to have one!) so this is also another plus.
Overall I have to give these trousers 5 stars! I love them and for £6 they are a bargain and I am always happy to go home and throw them on! Read the complete review |

Asda George Tatty Teddy Pyjama Set
by emmad5689
My eldest daughter was wearing aged 3-4 thin pyjamas when the weather warmed up a little so I thought as she is nearly 6 she really should have a couple of new pairs so bought her the Me to You Bear and My Little Pony pyjamas from Asda. The Pyjamas cost £7 which is about a normal price around our area for character pyjamas unless you ... make a special trip to Primark where you can pick pyjamas like this up for £6.
I bought the pyjamas in a age 6-7 and my daughter is nearly 6 but they are a little too big for her so I would say that these are probably true to size as they are not massive but just don't quite fit perfectly but who really cares if pyjamas are a little too big. A 6-7 according to the pyjamas is for children of height 116-112cms.
The top of the pyjamas is white in colour with a lilac trim around the neck, the arms are short and have 3 little trimmed frills in lilac, yellow and pink and then there is a lovely picture on the front of the Me to You bear blowing bubbles. There is a rainbow behind the teddy and then there are a number of butterflies some of which are made from pink ribbon and then the bubbles are all glittery so the top is really pretty and certainly for a girl. The bottoms are long legged and they are striped with orange, green, lilac, pink, blue and yellow, the have an elasticated waist and straight legs.
The label says to wash at up to 40 degrees and iron on a cool heat, I personally wash at 30 degrees and never bother to iron pyjamas, the pyjamas have washed really well and they don't creased very much either. Sophie has been wearing these for a couple of months and so far there has been no fading of colours, loss of glitter or damage to the ribbon butterflies so I would say these are pretty hardwearing.
Sophie really loves these pyjamas and I can see why as they are really pretty plus she has one of the Me to You bears on her bed so she says they match. I think these are hardwearing and the price I paid was decent too, I cannot fault these at all and she will get loads more wear from them so 5 stars from me. Read the complete review |
